About this ebook

Love sometimes changes our entire universe. Sometimes we believe that we can escape its clutches, and just like Susy Evans believed, in the end, she ended up loving but paying a high price.

"I swear we'll meet again" is a different novel with an unexpected ending that will teach you that true love can be found in the least expected place. It is a fast-paced novel that you won't be able to put down, and where tears will surely flow at any moment.

Usy Evans, an ordinary girl, was running through the forest of Printehan Texas with her mother and two brothers, they were running for their lives...

The fact is that human civilization had collapsed weeks before, when intelligent beings from other worlds had managed to sow terror on the planet. Most of the nations had ceased to exist, and only chaos and destruction prevailed. The only survivors had managed to go unnoticed in the woods far from the sight of those beings with human morphology. If it were not for the fact that they descended from these strange ships, one would not believe that they were hostile.

Susy Evans and her family continued to crouch for a long time under some tall foliage, waiting for those entities to leave. Terror seized them every second that they saw the moving shadows as if in a game of approaching and receding at about seven o'clock at night.

This way, suddenly a male voice was heard muttering behind her. Immediately afterwards, Susy and her family turned around, stupefied, to see a shadow behind a tree that made a sign for them to follow him.

-Who is he? her mother stammered as she stared at the dark, motionless figure. While his twin brothers who were not more than 13 years old exclaimed doubtfully and reluctant to follow him.

I don't know, but... it's better to go with that stranger than with them, Susy answered without thinking. To then carefully crawl through the dense vegetation for a couple of meters after following the steps of that strange shadow that moved in front of them under the shadows of the trees. After more than 300 meters uphill and incessant breathing, they settled behind a rock that was the entrance to a small cave.

-Who are you? asked Susy in a low voice about three meters from the silhouette that posed on the dark entrance of that natural cave...

—If they want to survive, it is better that they enter, they will be safe here for now... —the shadow was heard responding with a very strange tone as it advanced inside. Susy and her mother looked at each other uncertainly as if to say: what if it's a trap?

We're already here, we can't go back with those things that are nearby... we'd better go in, Evans said determined, and immediately after, with everything and fear, they entered.

    ––––––––

Susy Evans, 28, was before all this a successful executive of an energy multinational. When the alien threat began its ferocious attack on the entire planet two weeks ago, she was able to survive with her family in the wooded counties as they fled at night on foot near Austin Texas. Unfortunately, they managed to be surprised a couple of hours ago when a couple of ships spotted them and began their fierce pursuit until not long ago when they apparently managed to lose them.

    - Who are you? Susy asked in a serious tone from behind the man who was lying motionless at the end of the cave, after having walked perhaps forty meters inside.

More will be coming soon, he answered slowly.

What are you talking about young man? burst in Annie, Susy's mother.

"Soon more of these invaders will come...

-How do you know? Evans questioned overwhelmed. It seemed too catastrophic to be true.

That doesn't matter... only that they are getting closer, the stranger repeated again in a cold tone this time.

    ––––––––

Ordaz of hostile armies crossed the skies of the entire planet eliminating the last remnants of human resistance. Only two weeks were enough for a flotilla of an unknown race to almost completely destroy human civilization. Everything was like that, those who survived for days sooner or later were located and annihilated. Susy and her family were lucky as they had spent more than two weeks alive, and luckily they managed to escape the two speedy ships before the stranger saved them.

What are you supposed to do? Evans asked the man who lay motionless at the bottom of the rock, only showing his broad back in the darkness of that dead-end cave.

Soon they will bring the devourers and the life of this world will cease, he answered in a way he did not expect.

-What are you taking about? who are you? Evans inquired again, somewhat annoyed at his secrecy.

I'm one of them he replied, leaving Susy and her family with their mouths open and then leaving them even more when he turned around revealing a man's face, except for the eyes that were completely bright blue...

-Holy God! they all yelled in chorus, and then they tried to get out of the cave, but the man stopped them with:

    Wait! I'm not like them.

This seems like a dream, Annie said, puzzled as she hugged her two children while turning her head 360 degrees.

-What the hell! what's going on mom? Aron exclaimed agitatedly, one of the twins almost on the verge of a panic attack.

Why are you helping us? if you're supposed to be one of them —Evans yelled, a little upset, barely looking into the stranger's dark eyes with a bluish hue that at times faded in the gloom of the cavern...

I didn't plan to do it, except that I looked at them that they were about to be caught and...

—But I don't understand, where are they from? why do they do this?

The stranger walked towards them, passing them by, and perched at the exit of the grotto, looking beyond the horizon. Evans and company were stunned by what they had heard, and they only expected explanations, which for a few moments did not happen.

What are you supposed to do? Susy inquired in a low voice, somewhat disturbed because the person speaking to her was not human. The being did not answer the question and only said with that gravelly voice I don't know why I saved you? In the end, no one will survive in this world, not even the beasts, everything will be destroyed.

But more of what's already happening? asked Annie laconicly.

They're getting closer, declared the stranger who had a physique identical to a human except for those disturbingly blue eyes, and a height of almost 1.90 meters.

After saying that, she was about to leave when Evans yelled furiously just like she
