About this ebook

Rev. AJ's Prayer Closet was chosen because many people do not know how to pray, thus hiding their concerns, fears, and apprehensions in the closet of their hearts, not realizing that they need to bring them to God to allow Him to handle them. This results in happiness and freedom from despair.

    Decisions

Father, As I walk through this world,

I am faced with many decisions…

My mind is swayed back and forth

by the rhythm of other opinions.

Knock, knock, knock. may I come in,

Says one friend to my conscience…

Of course, you may, there's room for you…

The doors to my heart are always open…

Back and forth, back and forth

goes the rhythm in my heart.

Oh God, God…can you not help,

I'm so tired of listening to others…

    Shhhhh…the Lord is speaking,

He says He will not help me…

He says I must myself decide,

    No matter what the ending!

Now, I walk through this world

    With many made decisions,

No longer a sway, but a smooth steady stride

Is the rhythm of my own opinions.

    Remember, do listen to others,

    But decide yourself alone,

For God has given a wonderful gift,

And that is a will of your own!

And with God's anointing, you will decide to bring:

Poem by Aurelia T. W. Jackson

God's gift of prayers in poems.

    My mom and me 1947

To my wonderful mother, Sara Rebecca Trusty, who went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2013. Everything I am, I owe it all to her love and the sacrifices she made to bring up her only child in a loving, caring, and spiritual home. She was an independent, liberated woman, who had the biggest, most generous heart. Her love and generosity to all showed me just how to be the woman I am today. But more importantly, she brought me up in a Christian way, and as a result, I was taught the importance of placing God first. You see, she was not only my mom but also my very best friend.

Thank you, Mom. Your daughter misses you terribly, but one day soon, we will be together again.

    I love you, Mom!
