A Word from Tom
It’s most certainly been a long time coming since Natalie and I had our first official discussion about putting this book together. It was a couple of months after I released my premiere book, Living Among Bigfoot: First Contact that she called me, saying how impressed she was by all of the unexpected interest. Yes, as politely as possible, of course, she explained how she never imagined it to undergo what ended up being a very successful book launch. Believe it or not, she was someone I approached about collaborating on something before I even started writing First Contact ; the reason being that I, for a few reasons, wasn’t initially interested in creating something that revolved around the timeline of my own experiences.
What I was much more interested in doing at the time was to produce a manual of sorts; a comprehensive guide that could be used to help awestricken folks (just like I once was, and still am) to better cope with their run-ins with the unnerving sasquatch species. I supposed you’d be able to refer to it as a unique self-help guide. Don’t get me wrong; some people are completely capable of that on their own; however, there are many people out there who claim that it has taken them a long, long time to come to terms with the staggering revelation that these creatures exist. And to me, that’s more than understandable. The unfortunate reality is that countless cases of PTSD have developed following these kinds of encounters, and I genuinely believe that we tend to overlook that.
So, because of that idea, I started reaching out to a few people who I know to have had their own experiences with the sasquatch species. I was hoping they’d be interested in lending some of their own advice to become part of the book. Not all of them, but a few of them were aware of a lot of what I had personally been through, and they encouraged me to get my stories out there. At first, I was pretty intimidated by that idea. I supposed I assumed that I’d be required to use my real name if I were to publish and sell a book.
