About this ebook
It was a very cold winter's day in Toronto. Outside It felt as though the mid-January winds were reaching sub-zero temperatures. As the train arrived at union station I couldn't wait to get out of the cold. I sat on the Go train gazing out the window. 10 minutes after leaving the station I can see the grey and white clouds rushing across the skies. As the speeding train passes by the icy lake waters one cannot help but notice the orange glare of the sun reflecting brightly over top, the birds flying freely through the sky as the snow petals fall.
Suddenly Images of my daughter started flashing through my mind. I hoped she was ok and thought to myself if only her mother could understand. She's so close right now but so far at the same time. Her mother Jenny was from Ajax that's where I'm heading. Jenny and I met through a mutual friend. She was a hood chick I was an inspiring rapper and drug dealer. It wasn't love at first sight but we couldn't do without each other. We both were around the same age I was 20 and she was 21. she was a lot more experienced than I. We spent every waking moment together but there was still a lot about her that I didn't know.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Although we are family and we lived thought these events together. I would like to thank firstly Joanna Thompson & Adonna Thompson for granting me the permission to write about them. Their struggles are way more intense than my own. In so many ways they have played such a big part in my stability I thank them for returning the love needed to hold on. I will also like to thank my loving mother Agnes Thompson for standing by my side in the toughest of times.
This book is in memory of my father Ralph Malcolm Thompson, who passed away May 2015, although he was not in my life during the latter year’s, may his soul rest in peace. And to all the people who put up with me sending them raw copies of this book to proof read. To the characters in the book whose names were changed much thanks for the experiences and for the lessons that I have learnt during that time. I would like to give a huge shout out to my daughter Soraya and son Ottis Thompson the 2nd.
To all the members of the Kings By Blood record company I thank you for believing in me. I have been considering writing the second part to this book and promise the reader the speedy delivery of part two. This book is the first addition to my collection and it will not be the last. I do have plans to continue writing as soon as we've released this tittle. Thank you to Nicolette Baptiste for being supportive to me and to my friends for encouraging me to go forward and follow my dreams.

Introduction
This book was meant to offer an insight into the life of the author. It was written also to inspire change in the pattern of our children’s growth in today’s modern society. I request that it not be taken out of context as you read along. The author wrote it as a testimonial from his journal. About occurring circumstances in his life at that time. This book is based on the real-life experiences of Quashie Ottis Thompson.
May I add that history has always shown us ourselves from a past perspective of life. And In documenting this we hope that in the future someone possibly may just take a look back at this collection of notes. If relatable to one’s present life circumstances they will receive the message. Because Hidden within are secrets to building a systematic foundation for survival. Some of the names of characters in this book were changed to protect their identity but the facts remain the same.
If needed official documents are available in public records to confirm all the facts. To the reader, we recommend taking into consideration one man’s journey to self-development. I also employ you that a youthful ideological perspective is necessary to understand the author’s experience.

About the author
Quashie Ottis Thompson was born Oct. 10 th 1982 in laventill, Port of Spain. At six months old they moved to a little village called Maracas Bay located on the northern coast of Trinidad. Maracas Bay is small but has the most popular beach in the country, so millions of people pass through there every year. At the age 13 his parents separated. His mother moved to Grenada taking all three of her kids with her. After a few year living with her mother Agnes migrated to Canada to make a better life for her children.
Ottis and his two sisters moved back to Trinidad to live with their father in 1994. Two years later they moved to Canada to live with their mother. Moving to a new country was somewhat of a shock for young Thompson. But happy to begin a new and better life, he was ready to start fresh. Unaware of his true talent as a young man he started writing poetry as a form of therapy. Throughout the years he has advanced his knowledge I,of self, through knowledge of the physical, spiritual, creative, and emotional intelligence. This book talks about his journey of discovering the deepest darkest concealed secrets within his mind, body, and soul. By the time he was twenty he already owned his own record company (Kings By Blood Entertainment) and sold music independently all over Canada. He was the first out of the area (Dufferin Park) to get a production deal that’s (free studio time) and getting onto community and college radio stations nationwide. Wizzard as the music world calls him sold over 2000 copies of his solo debut The Last Good Nigga
back in March 2005 under the name Da Dean. Growing up in Toronto as a young black man at times was difficult. Especially when it came to employment so the streets are where he often made ends meet. Many would see this kind of lifestyle as bad but his mother was a single woman on welfare who lived in a one-bedroom basement apartment with three children. So he did what he had to do to feed his family. And as the man of the house, with two sisters to protect, and the streets as the only source of income, unfortunate circumstances made him who he is today.
