About this ebook

The words contained in this book are inspired by nature, hearing a single word, and living life, or knowing someone who has, but mostly from beginning a conversation with God, of praise and thanksgiving, or asking questions about life. He always answers, "When I listen for that still small voice." How great is our God! My goal is to draw you into the words and silent graphics, to let your mind go there, to feel it and see it in your soul, and to enjoy it! My hope is, you will be refreshed and renewed after reading the words, and drawn into a closer relationship with our Creator. Love and blessings, Sally Bet Sam

Inspired Thoughts of Sally Bet Sam - Sally Bet Sam

    Foreword

It is truly an honor and my privilege to be writing down my thoughts of Sally Bet Sam’s eloquent literary work. She is passionately devoted to this compilation of poetry intended to inspire your heart with amazing and stirring silent graphics, that will bring to your imagination nature’s bounty and heaven’s bliss.

Sally Bet Sam is a gifted inspirational author who has collected and penned beautiful and dynamic words through many years. Whether poetry or prose, brief or lengthy, she puts an exciting parallel to what the eye sees and the ear hears, with divine blessings and life lessons that leave the heart elated with pleasure and faith.

Sally Bet Sam is a devoted wife, mother of two, and grandmother of four, with four siblings… is a friend. She presents herself selfless in every area of need. She has overcome much heartache and tragedy in her own life, yet has been ultimately supportive of all her family and friends, disabled and otherwise, providing multiple types of support. Sally Bet Sam is extremely patriotic and has seen her husband (a Vietnam veteran) and daughter through the ranks of military service. For five years up to the present, she has volunteered for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), devotedly assigning transportation for our veterans who are scheduled for medical appointments at various VA hospitals, etc. Not only is Sally Bet Sam highly skilled and talented in her writing ability, she is accomplished in floral design, neuromuscular therapy, singing, church activities and events as well as showing mercy, grace, and financial assistance to those in need.

Through her own personal experience, Sally Bet Sam brings a certain emotional and faith support experience to her readers, with style and rhythm that can literally replace tragedy with triumph, pain with passion, sadness with sweetness, victim with victory, defeat with determination, and negativity with nature’s delights.

Because of my own personal blessing of growth and nightly joy and comfort, through a type of devotional, verbal delivery of the contents of this book, and more to come, I can guarantee you will receive the gift of graceful and peaceful living from the poetry contained in this book of gems by Sally Bet Sam. The benefit is in the mental and emotional absorption of each and every line.

    With pride and appreciation,

    Gloria J. Bibey

    Preface

I used to write little notes for cards, until I became disabled with a back injury and new surgeries in late 1989.

I sat at the kitchen table and had my quiet time, where I could see through the window. It was in the nineties. I could see the birds and how the wind would blow the trees almost over, but they would come back strong. Or, I would see the fall leaves trickling down to the ground. I would write about what I saw or what I read in the Word into poetry. I had a dream in the mid-nineties of someday compiling them into a book and calling it "Inspired Thoughts of Sally Bet Sam, Thought-Provoking, Soul-Searching Words of Poetry." I even shared the title with a nurse at the doctor’s office I went to for weekly treatment.

Life happened in many ways, so I put it on the shelf—the dream, that is. I stored the poetry in a box in the closet. I was either too busy or in so much pain and didn’t have or take the quiet time I was used to, and only wrote when I wanted to give a card or was asked to write about a specific topic for someone.

Peace was not part of me anymore until I heard the Word taught like never before in 2010. I delved into the Bible and finally understood the words through the Holy Spirit. I began healing physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I could hear again!

I began writing a poem here and there, and then more often. I kept them in composition books, adding in the napkins, envelopes, or pages from a tablet. When the words flow, you have to write them then or lose them. At least that is the case for me. I wrote the poem for my husband’s fiftieth birthday on a paper towel. The words came while I was decorating, so I took it home and printed it for his party.

I write simply so that people of all ages and education levels will be able to read and understand.

We all have pain, strife, heartaches, and cares in our lives. I write about this often. My goal is that the words will draw you in and give you hope and courage for the challenges in life: if needed, the desire to change or change how you look at life or your situations. My desire is for you to be uplifted as you read the poems. I call them my mini messages.

Some of the poems have been inspired by my life and others around me. At times, it’s just a word, like forecast, which was kind of fun.

I am publishing the words now because I
