About this ebook

Sometimes as we venture through life, we will stop and take inventory of what was and now what is. Those stops then become our inventory, the inventory becomes ideas. This book is a fifty-year collection during those stops. The inventory we collect remain in our minds and will forever be just thoughts.

Just Thoughts - Richard "Sandy" Rhodes

    Melted Wax

A flickering flame with shadows behind

    Dancing upon the wall

Will weaken and die if a breeze is felt

But we will never see it fall

It will disappear while frozen in time

    Along with shadows cast

And reappear from a helping hand

So the flame will always last.

    Litter

As the litter collects along the highway side

It shows a lack of responsibility and a little loss of pride.

If everyone threw out as much

As you and he have done

Just think how deep the litter would get

It would eventually block the sun.

So keep our highways looking good

    Not to mention your neighborhood

Hang on to that litter, don’t let it stray

Proper disposal is the only way.

    ‘Just a thought’

A song from a bird, a cloud in the sky

    The thunder is endless

And will make the bird fly

    $1.19

Now, only $1.19, but has it really gone down in price?

And the consuming mind will never think twice

Until after the item is bought.

    A Change in Man

A person’s mind can change like the wind

Never knowing which way to go

But if every person thought just alike

Then our rivers would surely flow.

    But such rapids there’d be

They would torment us and make our way seem

    slow

So the difference in man, a welcome thing

Is a difference that we should sow

    Just a Thought

Why, oh why, do the little girls cry?

When the only sound is laughter

Their spirits soar above the clouds so high

But the boys come chasing after.

    Games

Before you will read some thoughts from my past

Thoughts that I knew were not going to last.

I wonder why the things that I said

Are not as outspoken as the thoughts in their head

Aggressiveness still stands, so our thoughts are

delayed, and the things that we said were the games

    that they
