About this ebook

My Life Now and Then. Carla is influenced by the early impression of prayer and the written word. Looking back in time, she believes something providential occurred during the innocence of her childhood that seemed to cement unknowingly, a legacy of rich faith. Somehow through the indwelling Holy Spirit into the reservoir of her soul. Subsequently, with time, it was awakened to action as the inevitable—youthful folly, infidelity, divorce brokenness, unforgiveness, and various atrocities assailed the trials of her life. Carla turned to discover the one tool that was hidden and somehow rose to prowess and challenged the warfare of uncertainty. This tool has landed her safely and secured like an orchid that is washed, tossed, and strewn on the sand tides of life yet filled with miracles. Surprisingly, on the sand tides of her life experiences, she discovered her calling. Though, frightened by the call, she answered for service! Now on the journey to serve, she realize that she was inspired from a place of concern for fellow travelers on the trail of life. With her glass half full, Carla hopes her work in this print will be like a lighthouse that is fully wicked to emit light and navigate each reader to the path that liberates through her presence on each page.

    The Author’s Note

Thanks to Almighty God for putting Ambrozine King and Loreth Spence as stewards of my early development.

I came from a humble beginning that was filled with musical melodies from the heart that seems to bring heaven to Earth with the praises from my grandmother’s lips. The innocence of my childhood was carved out with the blueprints of the sacred pages. Ambrozine, with her five senses and wisdom, made it her duty to keep my mind fortified with eternal bliss through hymns, choruses, and the written word. It has certainly helped to make me who I am today. It is definitely, through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, empowering that has restrained the enemy who relentlessly pursues after me on every front. The enemy tries to derail me every step of the way. However, prayer is powerful when man and God, who is a great Army by himself, join equaling omnipotence. My aunt Loreth taught me how to wither Satan’s scheming devices with the sacred words. She said, Let it absorb you like oil in a batter! The weapon of our warfare are not carnal, so put on the whole armor of Jehovah God. Journey with me now through these pages to see what prayer can do for you and has been doing in my life.

My Life Then and Now through Prayer

I’m inspired by the indwelling Holy Spirit to pen my experiences of answered prayers.

Prayer, my friends, is the answer to every problem in life, no matter how complicated life gets. It’s like venturing out onto new terrains with its winding paths before you, and without a map, the winding paths of life become complicated and will throw you off course, leaving you confused and lost. However, the practice of prayer puts us in touch with divine wisdom that understands how to adjust everything perfectly. Man and God united becomes omnipotent and provides us with new lenses to navigate life’s journey. God is too wise to err, my friends. From our standpoint of human frailty, the situation is hopeless, but with God, all things are possible. Believe me when I say prayer is communion with the Almighty God who doesn’t slumber or sleep. He listens well to our expressions from our lips. No human relationship is too strained that cannot be reconciled, no mind too dulled that cannot be made brilliant, no one too sick that cannot be healed if we trust God fully. He will bring healing, restoration, and power.

    My Early Teachings of Prayer

I will early seek the Savior I will learn of him each day. Yes, he loves me. Jesus loves me. This I know.

I was born in a small district called Claremont, situated in the parish of Saint Ann on the island of Jamaica, in the West Indies, to parents, Stanley Williams and Marian Burgess. I spent the first eleven months with my mother, I was told. My parents separated, and my dad brought me to my grandmother, Ambrozine King, who was living in another parish, Saint Mary, in a little district called Fraserwood. God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform. Sometimes his providence guides us along like a river that meanders through the little streams, which empties itself into the great ocean. As life permits, we’ll be able to see our glass half full. Here, we lived on the hillside in a two-room house with reasonable space. We didn’t have much, but we were happy as far as I know. Our humble home was well-kept with enough beds for comfort, a dinette set, an oil stove, and a radio to keep us abreast of what was happening in and around the country.
