    Introduction

This book is based on the biblical scriptures Daniel 10:12–14. I ultimately feel that I was led by God to write and share this. Before we can even begin to think about operating in the spirit and participating in freeing an angel, we must first free ourselves.

As with Fantasia Barrino’s debut album, Free Yourself, that’s what we must first do. Then and only then will we be able to move forward into the supernatural. In her song entitled Free Yourself, she was talking about being freed from a failing relationship. However, there are many bondages that we must be freed from.

Of course, the most important thing is to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. Sadly, the Messiah says in Matthew 15:9 and Mark 7:7 that some worship Him in vain, teaching for doctrines commandments of the traditions of men. Therefore, we have to break the bondage of religion.

There are many practices and beliefs that are contrary to the Word of God, which many people who profess to believe embrace. Each denomination holds a doctrine or belief system that sets them apart from other religious sects.

Many have become indoctrinated by their denomination. Some even deny being a denomination, but because of their belief system, they are. If you belong to a certain religious group, church or organization and don’t take the time to study for yourself, there’s a real good chance that you have been indoctrinated, especially if you’ve been a member for a long time.

We can’t just go by what the preacher says. We must be like the noble Bereans, searching and studying the scriptures for ourselves. Some leaders entangle other doctrine and/or their interpretation of the Word with scriptures, which can often be misleading.

Most of them probably have good intentions and are trying to do the right thing. Unfortunately, many haven’t reached spiritual maturity and total freedom in Christ. We must continue to wholeheartedly seek God and ask Him to deliver us from any and all bondage.

We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:6)

Let’s go into Daniel 10:12–14 just a bit.

Verse twelve states, Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

In verses leading up to verse twelve, the angel Gabriel had just touched Daniel and lifted him to his hands and knees. Prior to that, Daniel was laying prostrate with his face to the ground. He was in very deep prayer and had just saw a vision of the Messiah. As Gabriel continued to speak with him, he told Daniel to stand up. Daniel stood trembling. The angel told him, Fear not.

    Fear Not

Gabriel didn’t want Daniel to fear him because they were on the same side. The only fear we should have is a godly fear. God not only want us to love Him but fear Him as well.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)

Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. (Psalm 2:11)

There is so much that can be elaborated on concerning fear. Many books are centered on this very topic alone. By me being a writer, I study and research various topics and situations.

And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:12–14)

Ecclesiastes 12:12 really ministered to me. It will aid and remind me not to overwork or overwhelm myself with efforts to write and reveal. Many fears and phobias prevent us from reaching our full potential in God and life itself. Some are so deeply rooted that people die with these fears or because of these fears. Since there are so many, I’ll just touch on the ones that I’m led to speak about.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12)

The fear of rejection and the fear of abandonment are the two that the Holy Spirit (Ruach) is leading me to touch on. These two seem to work hand in hand.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

Joseph is a perfect example of someone who was both rejected and abandoned. He had eleven brothers and a sister. You would think that a big family would show much love. Regrettably, as in many cases today, that’s not always so. His brothers hated him because he had favor with his heavenly and earthly fathers. They imprisoned him and were about to leave him trapped in a pit to die.

Then one of the brothers suggested that they sell him as a slave for profit. He continued to endure hardships before finally walking in the fullness of his destiny. He didn’t allow the rejection and abandonment to deter nor sway his path from believing and receiving the blessings.

He held on to what the Most High had shown him through dreams and the interpretations. Joseph didn’t focus on what the situation looked or felt like. He stayed focused on the promises and revelations of God.

Stop! Read Genesis 37–50 in its entirety even if you have read it a hundred times. It’s essential in order to get all that I’m led to share. Now let’s touch on a few things. After being betrayed by his family, falsely accused and imprisoned, Joseph the dreamer presses on.

And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. (Genesis 41:32)

This is just a little nugget for the dreamers and potential dreamers. We need confirmation in all aspects of this walk of faith.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did
