About this ebook

To think this all began with two teenage boys with God being the third.

Matthew 18:19 states, "Again, I say unto you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven." This is a story of two families and their walk with the Lord. The two youngest boys find it hard to believe that one Bible can be interpreted so differently. They find, after a summer Revival, both families' lives are turned upside down. Each member takes a look at their own life and decides that changes need to be made. The amazing thing is that God will use whomever He will to get His message told, even though it may cause a little drama.

I would like to Dedicate this book to my Late Uncle Rev. Roosevelt Moore, who was like a father to me all my life. Because of him, I came to know the Lord for myself. With his help in the late 1980s and early 1990s, my friends and our spouses had weekly Bible study in our homes and learned that there is going to be a Rapture of the Church, that the Lord was coming back for the Church, His Bride, and many other things that helped us All after studying Give Our Lives to Christ then tell anyone who would hear what God's Word Promises.

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your son and daughters will prophecy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

    Chapter 1

The first Sunday service at Greater Hope Baptist Church was the same as any other Sunday. The choir sang the same old songs. While Mrs. Jackson took her Sunday-morning nap, the ushers sat at the back snickering and chatting about what went on the previous week in their neighborhood. Pastor Jason bought his normal non-moving sermon which no one would remember when he finished. Just a normal Sunday morning at Greater Hope , thought Micah, the youngest son of the Douglass family.

After service, everyone hurried to their cars with little to say to anyone. No one stopped to ask others how they were doing or how their week was, if they needed any help with anything, or if everyone was well in their family.

The Douglass family consisted of Dwayne, the father; Darlene, the mother; Madelyn, their seventeen-year-old daughter, better known as Maddi; Matthew, fifteen; and Micah, thirteen. While driving home, no one mentioned the service or commented on the sermon. Dwayne and Matthew were discussing the big game that was coming on later that evening. Maddi was on her cell making plans with her best friend and neighbor Darci to go to the mall after lunch.

It seems the only one thinking about the service was Micah, the youngest. He found himself comparing his Church service to the Church service his best friend and neighbor, Devin, always talked about. He often said they always had such a good time at Church and after service was over. Devin said their Youth Department always had something going on during the week and on some Sunday afternoons. Services had also just let out across town at First United Baptist Church over on Holleman Drive. This was the Church the Thomas family, who were neighbors of the Douglass family, attended.

The Thomas family consisted of Gerald, the father; Gwen, the mother; Devin, their thirteen-year-old son who was the best friend of Micah; and Darci, their seventeen-year-old-daughter and best friend to Maddi. Gerald was chairman of the deacon board and loved the Lord. He didn't mind sharing with anyone that would listen how good God has been to his family. His wife, Gwen, was president of the Deaconess Board and sang in the choir. They made sure their children were active in the church and encouraged them to give the Lord some of their time even though they were still young. While everyone was standing around and greeting each other, Deacon Thomas was asking everyone how they were doing and if all was going well with the family. Gwen was doing the same thing with some of the sisters after greeting them with a hug or Holy kiss. The Thomas children were doing the same thing with some of the youth. Darci was reminding some of the young ladies about the upcoming youth conference, and Devin was talking to some of the young boys about the conference also. Just as he turned around, he saw his friend Micah and his family passing by on their way home and gave him a wave. He was reminded that they were to meet after lunch and work on their school projects. Micah, on the other hand, was wondering what everyone was talking about; it seemed that everyone was having a good time just being together fellowshipping with one another. He couldn't help but compare the differences in the two churches. People at his church had left so quickly, and the congregation at Devin's church didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave at all. He couldn't help but wonder why things were so different. As he listened to the conversation in the car, his dad and brother wanted to hurry home and not miss the pregame show. His mother was saying she hoped her roast was ready, then all she had to do was bake the rolls. His sister was still on the phone talking to someone about the new Jay-Z and Beyoncé video she had watched the night before.

Micah thought about the Revival he had attended on Friday night with Devin and his family. The Minister, Rev. Goodson from Navasota, Texas, gave a sermon that he couldn't get out of his thoughts. The scripture was from Matthew 24:4–6. The Bible tells us, Watch out that no one deceives you, for many will come in my name claiming I am the Christ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. The other scripture was from 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, and it tells us, But I would not have you to be Ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as other which have No hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so they also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them that are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: And the dead in Christ Shall be raised first, then those that are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the Air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.

This sermon, for some reason, he just couldn't get it out of his mind. The great thing about it is he believed every word and felt he needed to tell someone. For some unknown reason, he felt a burning in his Spirit to tell anyone who would listen. He could hardly wait to see Devin later to tell him of some of the things he had been thinking about and the different feelings he was experiencing. He didn't understand at the time it was the Holy Spirit working in and through him.

Later that evening, after working on their science project for about two hours, Micah brought up about the night they went to the Revival. Devin explained that he had been taught those scriptures all his life and this is what he believed. Silently, he wondered why Micah didn't already know this since they went to Church every Sunday also. Since it was getting late, they didn't discuss it anymore since Micah had to get home.

After about an hour, Devin called Micah because he felt they needed to talk about what he was feeling concerning the message. They discussed salvation and the meaning of the scripture in 1 Thessalonians. They even prayed the Sinner's Prayer found in Romans 10:9–10. It tells us, If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead thou shall be Saved.

Micah gave his life to Christ that very night. Micah had a lot of questions. He began by asking Devin why all ministers don't teach the same message. He was asking Devin, If we all read the Holy Bible, why is it I had never heard about the Rapture from our minister? I wonder if he even knows, and if he knows, why isn't he telling the congregation?

Devin was wondering the same thing but didn't want to speak badly of his pastor. So he answered, Man, I don't know either because we both know it's there. Maybe I should ask my dad to see if he has any ideas. Devin then asked, What about your parents? Do they believe or ever talk about the end times or the Rapture?

Micah then had to admit, "Man, I'm not sure because I have never heard them talk about it either. I wonder
