About this ebook
Light from Light could have been called understanding from revelation, some truth from much truth, and so on. No one can reasonably expect to know the whole truth about anything, so we seek to expand our understanding, to see that which is hidden or so bright that it blinds us.
As a streetlight guides our path home at night, so God's light guides our path home to him.

Psalms 1
1—Saints and sinners do not walk the same pathway nor sit in the same spot,
Saints always want to be where the Lord is, and sinners where he is not.
2—One who studies the Word learns wisdom and becomes the Lord’s right-hand man;
Not that there aren’t others at his right, but those who are do all they can.
3—The Tree of Life absorbs wisdom from the godhead and gives it to us;
Adam and Eve had theirs, but it is out of bounds for the rebellious.
4—The Spirit leads or it blows away—the choice is yours, where it should be
Follow the Spirit and all will be shown you; lead, and you will not see.
5—Going to church does not place you in a congregation of the right:
Obedience to God might, piety might; a loving nature might.
6—It is more important to be on your path than just headed that way;
Otherwise you may miss it and waste the purpose of your life in clay.
Psalms 2
1—Complainers are but beginners, trying to make everything perfect;
As we progress spiritually, there is more and more we accept.
2—Every world leader serves God’s purpose in some significant fashion,
But they will not remain leaders who simply ignore God’s direction.
3—Would you free yourself from a master who gives you everything you need?
Jesus is such a master, and he doesn’t demand much, so pay heed.
4—When one of God’s children falls into sin, the evil hordes celebrate;
For he is one of theirs now, and they are the new masters of his fate.
5—Jesus does not want ever to punish anyone for anything,
But a last resort is necessary in just about everything.
6—When the people need a leader, he will appear, for God knows your needs,
He may not be what you expected, but hear his words and watch his deeds.
7—God does not choose his sons—they choose him, and then the father is chosen;
He will be one or more who can best guide you on your path to heaven.
8—God alone decides what your inheritance shall be, evil or good;
The reward must be in accord with your life—he’d give more if he could.
9—We do have the right to live however we choose, in goodness or not;
If hell is your reward, the devil will have the trophy which he sought.
10—War destroys, but peace heals, and a wise leader chooses only healing;
He understands that a healthy nation has no interest in hating.
11—You don’t worship God with reverence unless you submit to his will,
For to keep your own will is to worship yourself and to be dead still.
12—You take refuge in the Father, but the Spirit fills you from within,
To be taken into the arms of love you must first be without sin.
Psalms 3
1—The Lord makes use of others to protect you by inspiring them to
Warn you of danger, especially if he couldn’t get through to you.
2—When someone says something negative about you, it is sure to hurt;
So do something nice for that person and he may have a change of heart.
3—A good ruler will always be willing to put himself in harm’s way
to protect and defend his people, and their duty is to obey.
4—The holy mountain is the high spiritual state from which God speaks;
So if you wish to communicate with him, look for the highest peaks.
5—If I die to this life, I awake to the next, for God will open;
If he will not, I shall stay asleep or find myself on earth again.
6—Whatever keeps you from union with God are your mortal enemies;
However many they are, you must defeat them and their properties.
7—When you are besieged by temptation, call on God to come to your aid;
There is only one God and he is within, ever since you were made.
8—If God’s blessings fell on everyone equally, where, then, incentive?
As least some blessings should be rewards—for the good, for the creative.
Psalms 4
1—Jesus really wants you to be happy, and he will help you to be;
But you must ask him for help and open yourself to him completely.
2—Every act of defiance is a delusion, if you would see it;
What cannot be altered will not falter, so there is no point to it.
3—The Lord God is in all things, but it is through the saints that he comes forth;
They are those who by grace have been chosen to do God’s bidding on Earth.
4—To be angry at God is an especially foolish way to be;
For he is part of you and you are part of him—it’s yourself, you see.
5—You can trust in the Lord completely, but he does expect a few things;
Like respect, obedience, faithfulness, gratitude for his blessings.
6—Good times and bad times seem to be necessary for development;
We learn from each, and each motivates us to changes and improvement.
7—An abundance of love surpasses the joy of good times and good wines;
It fills to the brim, creating giddiness, like when a full moon shines.
8—Peace awaits the person who has made peace with God
and so his conscience;
When one is secure within, it’s because God has become his defense.
Psalms 5
1—If you don’t ask the Lord to address your problem, he probably won’t;
If you’re willing to be patient, know that he will tell you all you want.
2—You can pray to God for help all you want but it won’t do any good
Unless you are in harmony with him and are doing what you should.
3—The light finds your more—prominent characteristics first, then the rest;
Valleys are often shaded by peaks, but your least might end as your best.
4—God’s great holiness cannot be where it isn’t wanted, near evil;
Choose between them because a happy medium is of no avail.
5—One who is arrogant does not welcome examination ever;
He believes he is above reproach, and even God should know better.
6—Both a deceiver and those he deceived are somewhat out of control;
Truth is always in control and will eventually fill that role.
7—You must look within, and if you can’t find God, you must alter something;
If what you do is okay, there must be false beliefs to which you cling.
8—The small voice within is indeed the voice of God—listen and obey;
Over time, it will become dominant in leading you on God’s way.
9—Hypocrites pretend to be something they are not, so they may be praised;
This prevents legitimate bonding in any way, with those so crazed.
10—It is not charitable to wish harm to any human being;
It is okay to wish that your demons were forcibly departing.
11—Those who truly love God will find joy in whatever life brings their way,
For they will be in God’s presence and love and will celebrate each day.
12—The most virtuous of men accrue the most magnificent blessings,
Such as peace, joy, wisdom, and many spiritual festivities.
Psalms 6
1—The Lord doesn’t get angry and he doesn’t ever exact revenge,
But his verdicts may seem that way to those he must punish or expunge.
2—When you ask God for mercy, it is your soul that is apt to get aid;
Your life concerns God because it is in this state that gains are best made.
3—When things seem to be going badly, they may in fact be going well;
We need to be stretched to grow, and we need to accept a bit of hell.
4—The Lord’s mercy will flow only as much as you are truly ready.
Trust him completely, and his mercy is sure to save you completely.
5—In the nether world, it is much like being caught between dimensions;
You are neither fish nor fowl, nor able to decide your intentions.
6—When grief strikes your heart, find comfort in Jesus—he will help you endure;
You must do your own suffering, for it is the fire which makes you pure.
7—Hear no evil, see no evil—feel no more pain—no more suffering;
Only the dead can be sure of this, but is life not for the living?
8—It is hard not to notice that evil spirits also do God’s work,
The will finds itself drawn between good and wherever evil may lurk.
9—Jesus doesn’t need your gratitude, but you need to give it often;
It helps you to remember that all that you have didn’t just happen.
10—If you can outwit enemies and cause fear in them, they will retreat;
Make their minds perceive danger where none exists, and they will feel the heat.
Psalms 7
1—In order to be saved, you must try to save others, as best you can;
And if you will not help, you are just jumping from the fire to the pan.
2—The Lord of heaven has the power to tear you apart, but he won’t;
Just the same, if you turn a deaf ear to him, he won’t hear what you want.
3—Your intentions are everything to Jesus; success is a bonus;
But great effort is required, and he does reward the industrious.
4—Anyone you have betrayed was certainly not your friend, not really;
You may have been his, but you have treated him worse than an enemy.
5—I will not fear what man can do to me, for God is with me always;
I may not like everything that happens, for we have good and bad days.
6—The wrath of God is the final work of eradicating error;
Once you know what the Lord expects you can no longer be what you were.
7—Only sinners need fear judgment from on high—all else will welcome it;
For sin causes spiritual death, not for those filled with the Spirit.
8—He who is innocent does not fear judgment; justice is just dandy;
He who is guilty requires justice too but in addition, mercy.
9—There’s no security for anyone as long as evil lives on,
But the holier you become, the more certain evil will be gone.
10—The shield, which God wraps around you for protection, is made of virtues;
These are acquired by overcoming sin, also by the good you choose.
11—Justice never threatens the innocent, but the guilty should beware;
Rehabilitation starts with punishment, which you may not think fair.
12—If you are not doing what you were born to do you may suffer much,
At least until God gets your attention—he needs you to stay in touch.
13—Death awaits all of us, but death can be final or it can bring life,
When it brings us life, we are free forever from this world and it’s strife.
14—The part of your mind that you give to good stays with God when you are gone;
The part you give to evil will die—there is nothing worth building on.
15—When someone tries to trap you but pushes his case too far, he may fall;
For no matter how powerful he is, he may choke on his own gall.
16—Once we are stripped of delusion, we can better accept our fate;
But the troublemaker keeps looking for many ways to vent his hate.
17—It is just that those who deserve special honors should receive their praise;
These are God’s chosen ones—they accepted his call to adopt his ways.
Psalms 8
1—The Lord’s glory is seen in his creations, especially in man;
To experience this yourself, rise as high as you possibly can.
2—Follow the example of Jesus, the prophets, or little children;
They will all enlighten you—in ways you could not imagine, even.
3—If you would understand God, look at the love and good in every man;
For all men, and all their love and good have come from God since time began.
4—The Adam before the fall was spiritual and much beloved;
Adam after the fall was carnal, and God’s light was less imparted.
5—They are gods who think and act like Jesus, but Jesus is God of all;
He wants every person to be united with him, so heed the call.
6—Jesus alone has authority over all the things of the earth,
To achieve this great honor he had to suffer much and prove his worth.
7—As God made animals, he made humans, each with certain attributes;
Some are very wise, some are dupes, some are orators, and some are mutes.
8—God has provided good plants and animals for food, so enjoy them;
We shouldn’t eat much meat, but other than that, food should be no problem.
9—You too can become great if the Lord wills it so, but that is the point;
If your life has been about pleasing God, then your name should be in print.
Psalms 9
1—When you have discovered how truly wonderful the Lord is to us,
Then go out and tell everyone the good news, and bring them to Jesus.
2—God can protect you only if you are faithful in following him;
If you go your own way and do your own thing, your own light may go dim.
3—The sun and the atomic bomb can well illustrate God’s great power,
But they can’t begin to show us his limits, which grow ever vaster.
4—It follows that only those who walk in union with Jesus will then
accompany him as he travels through the dimensions of heaven.
5—If you put poison in a glass of water, it infects the whole glass;
When a group of people becomes infected, none through the gates shall pass.
6—When evil is not tolerated in a person, city or land,
It just will not survive, for it cannot feed itself on reprimand.
7—Jesus is looking for followers who will obey all his dictates;
Those who have best overcome their own problems will become his first mates.
8—Christ the King absorbs all who have achieved spiritual perfection,
And brings them ever nearer to the goal of absolute connection.
9—If life is really just a dream, where will you be when you awaken?
The choices you made will surely determine if that will be heaven.
10—Wisdom is found almost everywhere—the problem is in seeing it;
Even when inspiration strikes, most people just simply ignore it.
11—Why shout secrets from a rooftop if everyone is asleep, pray tell?
So if you know something that everyone should know, choose your timing well.
12—Do not go back to your corrupt sinful ways after you have been saved;
You will desecrate your holiness, becoming even more depraved.
13—You may endure an ordeal of darkness, denuding, and suffering;
This feels like persecution, but is essential to restructuring.
14—Whatever Jesus has saved you from is something only he can do;
This is cause for celebration and telling others about him too.
15—Any time you try to get someone in trouble, you have set a trap;
The pain that you are trying to inflict could end up in your own lap.
16—Those who know Jesus and still wantonly disobey, hurt him greatly;
Sooner or later, their willfulness will backfire most seriously.
17—Those who ignore God’s will have put themselves in immediate peril—
Not from punishment per se, but from the adversary, the devil.
18—Everyone is where they are because they need to be, at least for now;
But things change, some for the better, and others we must cope with somehow.
19—One who defies God is a fool, for God decides what’s good for the earth;
Ultimately, he will prevail and will destroy those of little worth.
20—When you do what Jesus wants you to do, he will help you with your needs;
It might not be just what you would choose, but be sure you go where he leads.
Psalms 10
1—We can know God by his presence, but also by his absence from us;
Both have a profound effect on us, from fabulous to onerous.
2—Most people don’t think they’re wicked, they don’t even recognize their faults;
But those who do must repent or they won’t be among those God exalts.
3—The wicked are proud of themselves because their primary sin is pride;
This is the foundation on which all their other sins are amplified.
4—Leave no place for God, and he will have no place for you, now or at death;
Be too proud to honor God, and
