Through the Storms: My Life of Miracles
()
About this ebook
My grandfather James W. Taylor was in ministry for over sixty years! He and my grandmother started out with a canopy for tent revivals. Grandmother played the guitar and Pop preached! Everyone called grandma Mom. Pop and Mom knew Oral Roberts long before a University known as ORU was built in Tulsa, Oklahoma! After years of evangelism, Pop became a pastor. He pastored several churches in eastern Oklahoma for over forty years. Wilburton, Hartshorn, and Poteau just to name a few. My mother and father started taking me to church when I was barely out of diapers. We always went home after Sunday school. It wasn't until after I saw God perform several miracles as a young man that I surrendered my life to him! After the miracle of Tracey and Old Yeller, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. This book is the story of my life of miracles! Several times, the enemy tried to destroy me but he failed! My hope is to encourage people to never quit or give up! The same God that parted the Red Sea is alive today! Do you believe in miracles?

Through the Storms - Ronnie Taylor
Chapter 1
My Family
Teddy Tennessee Taylor was my father, the son of James Washington Taylor who was born in September of 1892 and passed away in 1985 at the age of ninety-two. Dad was born in February of 1941. He passed away in 2014 at the age of seventy-three. I’ll be referring to my grandfather as Pop. He married my grandmother, Leaffee Tittsworth, in 1917. When Pop passed away in 1985, he and my grandmother, who I’ll refer to as Mom, had been married for sixty-seven years! Dad was the baby of seven children. Rachael, the eldest of all the children, was born in 1920. She outlived all the children. She passed away in 2017 at the age of ninety-seven. The rest of Dad’s sibling are Birthie, Julie Ann, LE, Jay, and Alean.
Florence Mary Thornburg was my mother. Everyone called her Mary. I forgot to mention that everyone called Dad, Ted. Mother was born in 1940 and passed away in 1983 at the age of forty-three after battling cancer. She passed away just two days before her and Dad’s twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Mother has two brothers, Stanley and Danny Joe Thornburg, and a sister, LaVerne. Two half sisters, Wanda and Robin Braley. My aunt Wanda married Kenny Braley. Aunt Robin married Keith Braley, Kenny’s brother. Then a half brother, Vick Thornburg, and two stepbrothers, Jessee and Steve Bost. I have a sister, Shelly Taylor Gregory, who is married to Larry. Shelly and Larry have two daughters, Harley and Kennedy. Harley is named after my grandfather, Harley Thornburg. I was eight years old when Shelly was born. Despite the difference in our age, we have always been very close! I’ve always tried to protect her and look out for her, but it seems like it’s been the other way around most of my life. She occasionally reminds me of one or two incidents that happened when we were younger. I feel terrible about one incident! I won’t go into details, but I think it had something to do with a switch! You can ask her about that if you want to. To this day, we remain very close!
My name is Ronnie E. Taylor, and I was born on January 29, 1962. At the time of the writing of my book, I’m fifty-six. My prayer is that this book will touch someone long after I’m in my heavenly home. If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, my prayer is that you find him by the end of this book! I will share with you a simple prayer later on.
Pop got saved somewhere around 1920. He was a member of the Assemblies of God for over sixty years! He and Mom started out evangelizing, holding tent revivals. Pop knew Oral Roberts (ORU, Tulsa, Oklahoma) before anyone knew who Oral Roberts was. Pop would later pastor in Harthorne, Oklahoma, Wilburton, Oklahoma, and Poteau, Oklahoma, just to name a few of the cities where he pastored. Mother attended one of the churches that Pop was pastoring.
Mother knew Dad most of his life. She told me a few stories about my dad when they were younger. Sometimes a PK (preacher’s kid) is the worst, at least that’s what I’ve been told! Mother said that when she was around twelve years old, Dad would tie her dress to the back of the old wooden pew! After chasing after her most of his teenage years, Dad
