We'll start out with them going school. They're in the ninth grade and were like other kids, normal. As they go up each grade, things start to change. Most of the time it's normal but one day they're going to school. The girl saw one of the girls hugging him, and she was smiling, when he walked over there. She asked him does he love her, and he said, "Actually, yes," and that's when everything was going on. They also put a band together and played in clubs. Every year one club put on the battle of bands, so they signed up for that and won the battle of the bands. They became famous all over the world. The same girl was making some of the girls scary to date that boy. They had a contract and recorded their songs in New York, then after three years they had the Mafia after them, where they stole fifty billion dollars and a rare diamond. They used their skill for those years, but the Mafia finally caught up with them. It looked like there was no more Fabulous 8, but they were still alive. They were getting makeover and were called different names and became double agents. They put bionics in them for them to save the world of bad guys but to find out their parents were aliens from another planet and they had superpowers, but that will be in the second book.

Chapter 1

There was a brother and a sister. We both were in the same class together in the ninth grade. Both of us were on the honor roll with As and Bs. Jenny’s friends are Brandi, Tammy, and Angie. They were best friends ever since they were little. All four of them were cheerleaders for football and basketball teams. They also played softball, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, and hockey. Jenny is brunette with blue eyes; Brandi, blond and blue eyes; Tammy has auburn red hair with green eyes; and Angie has reddish-blond hair with green eyes. Jenny has a brother and a sister. His name is Buddy. He has three friends; two of them are his cousins James and Clay, and the other friend is Shon. They played football, basketball, baseball, and hockey for their high school team, Drysdale High School. It’s about five miles from Chicago. I have black hair with brown eyes, James has blond hair with green eyes, Shon has brown hair with brown eyes, and Clay has blond hair with blue eyes.

Shon and I played hockey together. I had twenty-five goals and fifty assists this season. Shon had twelve goals and thirty assists this season. I had three goals and two assists when I was kicked out of the game for hitting a defenseman so hard that they had to put him in a hospital. The official said to the commissioner of the hockey league that they have to suspend me for three games, but instead they suspended me for six games for that hit. Brandi, Tammy, Jenny, and Angie were upset; Shon said to them that he had to pay for that hit! I saw the game, I was the defenseman on our team, and the referee already put the penalty on him when Buddy hit him; it took the penalty off him. We lost the game that night, 6–5 in the overtime.

They wanted to date other people during high school because they saw each other every day. James started to date a girl name Rosie; she was blond with green eyes. He liked her very much and was dating her on and off. Jenny was dating a guy named Jack at the same time Tammy was dating Kevin and Clay at same time. We didn’t know they were dating; they hid it from us for three months. Angie was dating a guy named Billy before he moved to Washington, DC.

We won the state championship in football, basketball, baseball, and hockey in the first year of high school. We won the state championship in football with 10–0. Then we won the state championship. It was Drysdale’s first state championship in thirty years for football. I said to my sister that her friends were hot! Shon and my sister were dating for a long time and are still dating. They weren’t the only ones dating. Clay was dating Angie for six months. Brandi asked my sister about me dating anybody. She told Brandi that she heard from her cousin that Lauren always told her that you and Tammy didn’t want to date me. You never asked me, until I heard you and my sister talking in her bedroom. I wanted to kiss you, but now you are dating Becky, and the summer is about over.

We were fixing to go to the tenth grade, and now getting ready to win another state championship for our second year. Our parents always take a week off to go to the beach, so we decided to go to Myrtle Beach and enjoy ourselves, but meanwhile we were talking about what college we were planning to go. We decided to go Florida State, but some wanted to go other colleges. Jenny, Brandi, Tammy, and Angie went on to the beach without us. They were lying out while we went on Jet Skis. Judy and Steve went on the beach too. Our parents were walking on the beach holding hands and talking.

James and I came to the girls. All four of us were talking about Clay and Angie. We already knew about Shon and Jenny. We talked that we should have known this would have happened. Everybody would like one or the other. Jenny said that you liked Buddy ever since second grade, and here it’s tenth grade. Brandi and I decided to go to Florida State. Tammy, Jenny, James, and Clay said they wanted to go Clemson. Shon wanted to go to South Carolina, and Angie wanted to go to Miami. Our second guess was Hawaii. Everybody decided to go to Hawaii.

School was starting back, and we had a game on Friday. James and I were partners on a project. We talked to some girls that were doing the other projects. This was the first day of the school year, and we got until October. We asked Mrs. Beltzur if we can make it a group project the teams of four, and she said, That sounds like a good idea? James and I were thinking about asking Brandi and Tammy about being with us as partners, but Steve and Kevin asked them before we could. Clay and Shon got Angie and Jenny with them. We asked Brittney and Lauren to be our partners, and they said to us yes. They were gorgeous, and we started to talk to the girls, then we asked them out on a date. We wanted to get Brandi and Tammy jealous, or hoped it made them jealous. We knew that they were upset. I knew that she was in love with me. She didn’t know that they would ask Brittney and Lauren. That’s why they said yes to Steve and Kevin.

Well, Friday was here and we had been practicing. Everybody asked if we will be champions again, and our coach said, We will be champions again! It’s Friday and we started our season right and out with a bang! Our first game was against the team we played in the state championship, and we won 37–24. Our quarterback had his best game that night. He threw 34/45 for 408 yards and 3 touchdowns; then he had 12 carries for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. Our punt returner had a good night, and our defense had 7 sacks in that game and 3 interceptions; our special teams were playing real good. We played each Friday night and won every game.

As our projects were due, Buddy and James were dating the two girls from their team, I was dating Lauren. She has red hair with green eyes, and James was dating Brittney who has blond hair with bluish-green eyes. We dated them almost the whole school year. I saw Brandi and Tammy every day. They come to my house a lot. They were Jenny’s best friends. Brandi and Tammy look just alike, but they are cousins to Angie and Shon. Buddy and James were thinking about getting a band together, Buddy played the drums, and James played the electric guitar for five years in the church. We asked Brandi and Tammy if they wanted to be in our band. They said yes. We needed more people in the band, so Shon, Clay, Angie, and also my sister Jenny came and joined our group. Shon played the bass. Clay played the electric guitar as James played the lead guitar, and the girls sang the vocals. We called ourselves Fabulous 8! We were playing in clubs, bars, anyplace that would have us to play for them.

We played at the club in Chicago named Bobby’s O’Hare. He was a famous producer. He signed us up for a talent show, and the winner would have a chance for a recording contract. I told them that we needed new outfits. That way we can perform better if a recording artist was there. He told me that we needed to be there at 8:00 p.m., for we were to play at 8:25 p.m., Shon came to me and said that he wrote a song. He wanted us to sing it tomorrow night. I said to them to meet at the garage at the house. We had a lot of practice to do. Then we left and went to the house. We went to the garage and set our equipment up, and we practiced for six hours.

Brandi, Tammy, and Angie spent the night with Jenny. The guys went home except for me. Daddy told me that I had to stay home and help him. We woke up the next morning and got ready to go to school. The girls were in the bathroom getting ready, and I was downstairs eating breakfast, when I heard Mommy talking on the phone with Aunt Susan. She heard about the talent show. At the club, there will be music producers. I heard that whoever wins the talent show gets a recording contract and a record deal. I went upstairs and walked by Jenny’s room, saw Brandi getting ready. She saw me go by. I called James, and told him I heard that our moms were talking about the talent show, that whoever wins gets a record deal and a recording contract. James told me he heard it.

I wondered who’s going to win the talent show. I left my room and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I saw Brandi go by, and she smiled at me. Everybody waiting on you, Buddy. I told them that I was coming, and put my arm around Brandi and Tammy as they were getting in the car. Mom told Jenny to get in the driver seat. When we got to school, Lauren was waiting on me, Brittney was already with James. All three were waiting on me. I was getting out of the car, and Lauren saw me getting out with Brandi, Tammy, and Angie. She didn’t like me talking to Brandi. She don’t like Brandi! I walked toward her. The first thing she asked me was Do you love Brandi? Actually, I told her that I love Brandi. Then she slapped my face and said, It’s over," and walked off. Brittney saw Lauren walking by herself crying, and ran to her ask her what happened.

She told Brittney that I like somebody else and she’s not competition for her. Then Brittney asked her, Who is the person? She said, It’s Brandi!

No, not that girl.

Yes, that girl. I saw him get out the car and was talking to her and hugging her. She saw me and was grabbing him to make me so jealous that I want to kill her. We walked to the classroom. She moved and sat behind Angie. She kept on pulling Angie’s hair. I told her to stop pulling Angie’s hair! She looked at me and stood up and slapped Angie that when Mr. Byler saw her slap Angie, he told her to go to the principal’s office. It’s 3:00 p.m., and school was out. We came home and did our homework, then our chores. We went to the garage. I told everybody that all we got to do is win this talent show. We needed to practice this new song that Shon wrote, and we had Tammy as the lead singer. Brandi, Angie, and Jenny were the backup singers.

We got three hours before we played. By the way we were wearing these outfits tonight because a lot of big music producers were going to be there. We can get a record deal and recording contract. We were practicing for an hour and a half, then we got ready. Clay told me that our agent said good luck with the show and don’t embarrass him in front of thousands of people. We’re here, there were a lot of people that were watching this show, and it was our turn to play. We were nervous. When everybody was done playing they announced the winner of the talent show.

The winner of the talent show was Fabulous 8. We came up, and they gave us a record deal and a recording contract. As some of the stars were there they came and hugged us for winning that talent show. It’s Friday, and we got a couple of games left before the championship game. We wore our jerseys at the pep rally today. Our quarterback was player of the year, and our defensemen of the year was our linebacker. He had 78 tackles (with tackle of lost 65) with 12 sacks, 5 FF, 3 recovery of fumble, and 2 interceptions. We were playing in the playoff as a number one seed.

Shon and I got a game tonight. We needed to win tonight to stay in the playoffs. I made it to the game as they were practicing. The game was starting when our family and friends were there. I was on the second line, and Shon was on the first line. The game had begun as in the second intermission and the start of the third period the lights went out, and when they finally got them back on one of the official was killed. He was stabbed to death! Nobody didn’t know who did and why they did that. It got me thinking of what I wanted to do when I went to college. We played the rest of the game with one referee short as we came back and won the game. We made it through to another playoff game, as we won 5–3, with me scoring 3 goals, 2 assists, and fought 3 times. Our next game was Monday. We left the game with our families, and Brittney and Lauren followed us. I talked to James about Brittney and he told me he still in love with her!

I told him, How can you still be in love with her? He told me that’s what he feels in his heart. I’m not in love with Lauren, I’m fallen in love between three girls. Their name is Brandi, Tammy, and Angie, but one is kinda taking by our cousin Clay, that Angie. I don’t know which one yet. The girls spend the night with my sister, and we don’t have school tomorrow. I wonder if they ever find out who kill the referee at the game. I betcha that I can solve that case before the cops do.

You are on. How much?

One hundred dollars.

Okay. Then we shook on it. Then I heard the phone ring. It was the chief of police, and while I was on the phone, I heard some bikers went by our house, and it sounded like thirty of them. Then I was thinking, there were few bikers at the game. They looked like they were fussing at the referee, and one of them had a knife on them.

I heard a knock on my door. It was Brandi, Tammy, and Angie. They had their nightclothes on, and it was 12:00 a.m., and I just got done talking to the chief of police when they knocked on the door. I asked them why y’all were standing at the door. They told me they were waiting for me to decide which one of them I was asking out, because we were leaving on the first week of June to go to New York to sign that contract. I told them I was not telling or letting them know until next week. Right now I liked it the way it is. Angie went out first, then Tammy, then Brandi came and took her time going through the door. She grabbed me and kissed me, then she walked toward the door, and looked back at me and threw a kiss to me, then she lifted her nightclothes up and walked to Jenny’s room.

We won the state championship again in football, and lost four games to three in the state championship for hockey. Our basketball team was on a winning streak. We won ten in the row against teams that were ranked. It was the middle of January, and our basketball team was ranked number three in the state.

I’ve been with five girls so far and only last weeks except Lauren. I’ve been with her four months. The other girls I’ve been with is Kelly, Angie, Lisa, and Lori. Now I was with nobody yet, but there’s one I’m waiting on that moment that when I get a chance to ask her out now, she jumped on me three times.

If we won this game we could take first place. We lost only seven games so if we could win this it would boost our players up to win another championship, Monday night would be the game. Hopefully, we could take first place. I was the only one home when Brandi came over. James was over at Brittney’s house and Clay was over at Tammy’s house. Shon went with my sister and our mom and dad. I heard a knock at the door, and it was Brandi, so I let her in. I closed the door, and she grabbed me by the hand. We sat down on the couch. She asked me, When are you going to ask me out? I told her, When you stop asking me when I decide I will ask you out. She pushed me down on the couch and was trying to take my clothes off. She asked me if we won Monday night we’d be in first place.

I told her yes, then I heard a car door close. I went to the door. It looks like your daddy. So we both went upstairs and took a shower together. After we got done taking a shower we went to my room. I closed the door. We can keep your thong and bra here, and Mom can wash it. Don’t you have some here where you been spending the night here, after we win the state championship in basketball.

Brandi and I finally got together after she asked me about going out. I finally told her yes. Now our summer vacation was here, and we still did things together. She came over every day and went swimming. Then there was our trip to New York we had to take. Our parents got together and made reservations for us to go together. I asked James if he did have sex with Brittney. He told me that she was going to wait when she gets married. What should I do, Buddy.

Do you love her?

I don’t know anymore.

Well, you better find out. There are girls waiting on you to let her go and go out with them. I think Lauren making these girls afraid to go out with me. There’s one not afraid of her. I think there’s another girl not afraid. I can go out with her, and you can go out with Brandi or Tammy.

So he looked at me and said, I can’t do this! I told him, What you going to do, stay with her? There are a lot of girls waiting on you. They ask me how about your cousin. I told them you got somebody. I’m waiting on you to tell me what you going to do about that. He looked at me and said, Okay, let’s do this. So he called her and heard another guy in the background. It wasn’t her brother, and it wasn’t her dad.

He hung up and went to her house. The brother opened the door for him, and he went upstairs to Brittney’s room. She was in bed with Kevin, and was butt naked. He was on top of her, James grabbed Kevin and was beating him, then he asked her, How long you been doing this She told him, About a month. Then he said to her, It’s over between you and me, then James left her house and came to my house. He told me that it’s over and that he was ready to move on, so he asked me who wanted him. I named about twelve girls, then I said, Tammy really wants to go out with you. She told me that she wanted to go out with you, but she didn’t like Brittney. She was strange. That’s what she told me just the other day. We were getting ready to go to New York to sign that contract. We were going to leave tomorrow morning, and I asked everybody to be ready.

I told them that some limousine would be here at 8:00 a.m. in the morning to take us to the airport. We got everything done that way. We got up in the morning, went to the airport, and all of us looked at one another, then I said, Can’t believe it’s happening to us. James grabbed Brandi by the hand as they walked for a while. They talked to each other. He told her that he still liked to date her, but she wanted to date others. They went back to my house. Our parents were trying to get everything ready to go. James came to my dad and asked about what time should they come over. my dad told him to tell the rest to come at about 7:00 a.m.

Chapter 2

We needed to be ready to go. I asked him how was his dating going. Have you decided to date Tammy yet? There’s Kim. She been waiting on you to ask her out too. Angie asked if she can spend the night with Jenny. Her parents told her yes, she can, if it’s all right with Steve and Judy. We don’t mind. Are y’all going with us? They said, No, we can’t get off work, so that’s why she asked if she can spend the night. It’s about 9:00 p.m., and we needed to go bed. We had to get up and be ready to go to the airport, so at about 12:00 p.m. I heard somebody walking to my room. I pretended that I was asleep, then I felt somebody’s cold feet on my leg, then I felt somebody’s hand on my body. When I looked up it was Angie. She was sleepwalking, and her hands were all over me, then she went back to Jenny’s room. We got up at 6:30 a.m., and they took a shower. When I passed the bathroom, Angie had a towel around her.

She went back to Jenny’s room to put her clothes on, as I winked at her, then I went in the bathroom and was brushing my teeth. She came beside me and was brushing her teeth, and then she kissed me. We was about finished getting ready. When everybody was here we got in the Hummer limousine. We were getting ready to leave our house at 8:17 a.m., and were going to the airport to get on the plane; we took off at 8:35 a.m. and landed at 9:40 a.m. in New York, then we got in a limousine, and it took us to the hotel.

We arrived at the hotel and checked in, then we went to the studio. There was the producer waiting on us to sign the contract. We went over and looked at the contract, and we read it over to make sure it was real, then we signed it. Then one of the pop stars and there were R&B stars were listening to our music, and both wanted us to play their type of music, either pop music or R&B. Both told us to think about it. We went back to the hotel and changed clothes. We went walking downtown looking in shops, then we put our money in the bank. People stopped and talked to us asking us questions about one another. A lot of girls asked the guys out, and a lot of guys asked the girls out.

We told them we had somebody else. Our fans started to grow in New York. They saw us playing on television. Shon came to me and said, I got another song that I been working on. I want it to be a special song for our record. They couldn’t find anybody, so they kept looking and interviewing. We saw a lot of stars at the hotel, then we went out to eat at a fancy restaurant. There were a lot of stars there for an award ceremony. We were invited to go to that award ceremony, but we didn’t know that we were going to sing. After we ate at the restaurant, a limousine came to pick us up and took us to the award ceremony. We were going to sit down, but there were some people sending us to the back stage.

We told them this is a mistake. They told us it was not a mistake. Is y’all Fabulous 8?

Yes, we are.

Then we didn’t make a mistake. So we looked at one another while the host of the show announced us, The next hottest group to come out here in person is the next hottest group, the Fabulous 8. We came out, and the people went crazy. I told Shon we’re singing his new song. He told me, Let’s do this! Tammy got up there as we were on the instruments playing, and she was nervous at first, then she got over her nervousness as we played that new song that Shon wrote.

The audience loved it. We had people standing up for us as we sang our hearts out for them. They wanted an encore, so we came back onstage and sang another song. It was awesome playing and singing in front of billions of people.

We left and went back to the hotel to get some sleep. It’s going to be a busy tomorrow morning until 4:00 p.m., then we could go to the Statue of Liberty. We got up at seven o’clock and took showers then got ready to go to the studio. We got to the studio and grabbed our instruments and played our songs. It was twelve o’clock. We stopped and ate lunch with our parents. We came back. There were Brittney and Lauren standing there waiting on us. Brittney was over with James, but Lauren was not over with me I called the security guard to escort Lauren out the building. She had a bomb strapped to her, I told everybody to get out, that I will take care of this, so everybody left except Lauren and me. I tried to explain that it was over between me and her, but she kept on saying that she’s still in love with me. The producer called the cops and bomb squad, then they called me and I answered the phone. How big is the bomb? I told them how big it was. They told me, What color are the wires? I told them it was blue, white, and black. They told me that I had to cut the white wire. But before you do that you got to open the box that contained the wires, the code is four numbers, and you got to get the numbers one by one. How much time do you have? I said, We have one hour to figure out the code. Well, I need to start and try to keep Lauren calm, she is panicked, but that is hard plus it’s getting hot in here. Can you get them to cut on the air?

Whatever you do to keep her calm and cool. How many numbers have you figured out?

I figured out three numbers, it’s 6-1-3, but I can’t figure out the other number, so I’m going to attempt to open the door by breaking it open, unless you can figure out the other number.

Well, try your best to get it open. Then all of sudden I heard some noise. It was the bomb. It was getting faster. We had only twelve minutes. I told Lauren, When you sweat it might trigger the bomb. We got eight minutes. There was one number I didn’t try. It was zero, so I put that number in. That was the number, 6130. The door on the box opened, I cut the white wire, and it stopped on one second left on the bomb. I took the bomb off her and threw it in the trash can, then I grabbed her and heard some noise. As I looked in the trash can it sounded like another ticking noise.

I picked it up, and another self-destructive device went off when I threw it in the trash can. We had twelve minutes to clear the building, but she didn’t want to leave. I told her that we got to leave now, but she didn’t want to leave. I picked her up and ran out the door. When I was running I hollered, Get out of the building! Get out of the building! Everybody ran out of the building. I told Brittney to get her cousin and run, then I told James, Clay, and Shon to go to every floor and tell them to get out. We went to every floor and told everybody to get out, there was a bomb on the top floor, and we got sixty seconds.

We had to hurry and called the fire department. They heard a girl scream. One of us had to find her. All four of us went and looked for her. A lady came to us and said, I can’t find my daughter. We asked her what floor was she on. She told us, On the six floor. I thought everybody was gone. We all went upstairs to the sixth floor to rescue the little girl. We got up there in time. We turned around the corner. She was there. James grabbed her and ran downstairs, then we all ran out the building just in time. The building blew up as we came out. It knocked us down. As the windows shattered all over the pavement, some people got cut from the glass that was falling. We were lucky. We could’ve gotten killed, all because of a girl that was still in love. Where is she now, I thought. She was out here with Brittney. There she is! Brittney, where is your cousin Lauren?

She went back in the building after she find out y’all four was still in there.

She should’ve not went back in. You supposed to watch her. You know how she thinks that she is better than anyone. That’s why she would got herself killed. The producer said we just have to go to Tennessee in January and finish our recording. We left and went to our hotel room, and got ready to go out to have a good time, while our parents went and changed our plane ticket to tomorrow morning. We saw some stars in New York.

We walked places we’ve never seen before. We saw big ships, then we went to the Broadway show. We asked the fireman if they did before we went to that show. They said no, nobody was found in that fire. Wait a minute, you said y’all didn’t find no girl in that fire? We turned around and looked at Brittney. Thought that you said she went in the building. The fireman said they didn’t find a girl body in the building. We ask you one more time, where is your cousin? And she said to them again, She went in the building, because I saw her go in the building, that what I’m going to say because that the truth. I saw her go in the front door, and I didn’t see her come out.

Brittney said, I don’t know where she is. I just know I saw her go in the building. We walk to the police department, and told them that we wanted to put a missing person on report. The police officer asked how long has she been missing. Only six hours. He told us they got to be missing over twenty-four hours before they look into her disappearing. My dad gave them the number to his cell phone, If y’all find any information, call me at this number, 523-334-9910. We left the police station and went to the Broadway show. During the middle of the show my dad’s phone vibrated. He left the show and went outside to answer the phone. It was the police department.

The police officer said they found a girl. She was not dead; she was in the hospital with smoke in her lungs. He said that he will be there in twenty minutes. They told him what hospital that she was in. My dad came back in and told his two brothers and his best friends to come and go with him. Dad told Mom what’s going on, and he told her to tell everybody else after the show. He told her when the show was over to go back to the hotel room. She told him, Okay, we go back. James, Clay, Shon, and I asked if we can go with them. They said to us, Only one need to go with us. It’s Buddy. We went to the hospital. They didn’t tell me until we got there. We went up to the third floor and went to room 333. There were three police officers to watch her.

I called her name. Lauren, Lauren, what happen to you. And she said this to me, I still love you. I told her, It over between me and you for a long time. I told you that when I break up with you back in January that we was going to see other people. My dad told her that he called her mom and dad. They will be here tomorrow to get you, and you have to stay in this hospital. Son, make sure the next time the girl understand about breaking up.

Okay, Dad, I will. I hoped next time I don’t have to worry about this. We left the hospital and went back to the hotel. When we got there something was happening across the street in that bar, sounded like gunshots. My dad and my uncles went across the street. Brandi’s, Tammy’s, Angie’s, and Shon’s dads stayed back with me, then we heard a gunshot. We ran over to see what happened to my uncle Roy who was on the floor. He was shot in the back. I ran to my dad. He had two stab wounds. Mr. David called 911; my uncle was wounded, too, except my uncle Roy, who just died a few minutes ago. I asked my dad Who did this? He told me, It was two guys that was beating that girl and try to rape her. When we got here we stop him of trying to rape her. Roy was running over to his brother to help him and was shot from the back.

Bill tried to help him, and he got attacked from the back. I couldn’t help him. I left the bar to talk with the guys. We got to pay those two guys back before we leave.
