The Book of Meditation: A Christian Method of Meditation

About this ebook
The Book of Meditation was developed over more than twenty years of taking notes during meditation and writing down inspiration when feeling the Holy Spirit through prayer and contemplation. I noted during my meditation many times what kind of technique was bringing the best results and, thus, wrote them down to be used or gone over later. Many times, I received a tingly feeling and heard a still, small voice and then wrote down inspiration. After I had decided to write this book about meditation, it is my firm belief that God told me to write this book, and I am sure the name comes from this inspiration. Were it not for this inspiration from God, I'm sure I would have stopped writing many different times. Though I have no great education nor do I have any great standing in society, yet I have received many revelations and some amazing visions. I think God wants us to realize once again that anyone may receive these revelations from God; we don't need to have some great position in church or standing in society, just a sincere and repentant heart, humble mind, and being a diligent person who truly desires to know the Lord God and Jesus Christ. The Lord wants to communicate with us often, yet we in our busy world, need to listen; we need to take time to meditate. Through prayer and meditation, we can communicate with God, but we need to listen after we ask questions in our prayer. We need to wait on the Lord; we need to meditate. Psalm 1:2 states, "But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." The Book of Meditation can help with this. I'm sure it can bring the peace and the love of God to many.

About the Author
Introduction
This book is a guide for personal revelations, dreams, and visions through meditation and prayer. Meditation is a long-lost art practiced by the prophets and seers of the Bible from Genesis to Revelations. And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide
(Genesis 24:63). Meditation is mentioned from time to time in the scriptures. It is evident to me that our Christian society, for the most part, has lost this ancient skill that was used to help communicate with God and his angels. Often meditation is thought to be an eastern religious practice, and it has been practiced in ancient times as well as in these modern times. Yet if we study the Old Testament, we will find many references to meditation. This is why I wanted to develop a system of meditation for my Christian brothers and sisters who desire to grow closer to God. As we go through the basic steps of meditation, I will give scriptural references as well as my spiritual experiences to back up my words and techniques for meditating.
Meditation and prayer are very personal actions, and as such, I believe each person should develop the technique and the words and thoughts that are unique to their personality. One technique of meditation is simply being still or quiet so that you may hear God answer your prayer. Psalm 46:10 states, Be still and know that I am God…
I shall give examples and experiences that pertain to my personal success to help guide those who seek God and his peace, love, and wisdom. There are many scriptural examples that indicate that meditation was practiced throughout the ancient history of the Bible.
Meditation is so important for present-day people for a personal relationship with God. Many different spiritual leaders have used meditation as a method to communicate with the divine. Certainly it is not the only way to receive revelation, but for me, it has been the most rewarding method, using it in conjunction with prayer. Prayer with faith, humility, and a sincere and honest heart are required to achieve divine revelation. Hope needs to be with you also as a means to develop faith and selfless love. On the long path toward the eternities, it all starts with belief, even a desire to believe (St. Mark 9:24), and develops as you seek the divine, the truth of spirit and light, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
Chapter 1
Why Meditate
Meditation is for those who want a closer relationship with God. This is the path that I want to lay out in this Christian method of meditation. This book is for those who want to communicate with God and learn His will concerning their life. This style of meditation is for those who seek a quiet peace where thoughts can be sorted out, the mind made clear, and the scriptures pondered and understood to a greater degree than known before.
Meditation is for those who seek to touch the divine and align their will to the will of God. If any of these are appealing to you, then meditation is for you. It is a lost art, one that has been used throughout the history of creation. As we search the scriptures, we will find meditation mentioned throughout the history of spiritual people as in the Holy Bible, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night
(Joshua 1:8).
There are many different reasons to meditate: for understanding, for guidance, revelations, visions, for peace, for the love of God. The ultimate reason, I believe, is to become one with God. Jesus said and prayed for us to be one with him. The Holy Bible in St. John 10:30 states, I and my Father are one.
Also, St. John 17:21–23 states, That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.
There are many different techniques that can be employed to concentrate during meditation. I will dwell on the ones that have helped me the most as well as mention others that you may find useful. Studying the scriptures is a great way to understand and know God. Praying sincere prayers helps you to grow close and to become one with God. But only by the grace of God can you achieve the ultimate: to have the pure love of Christ and to be one with Christ—that is, to be one with God. It is at that point where you may begin to manifest his divine character. God's light and truth shine through you. You may walk with the Holy Spirit and have his peace and understanding—to have the love of God with you always. That is one of the goals of prayer and meditation.
Pray for the Holy Spirit, as you read this book, that he may guide you and your spirit to understanding and peace. Many of the things written
