About this ebook

Revelations of God was written for people who are interested in finding and knowing God. Through an ancient spiritual practice called Lectio Divina, or “sacred reading,” you’ll have a powerful way of connecting with God and learning to hear His voice. One of the best ways to do that is to read the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament.

As the living “Word” of God, Jesus’ example of love and healing shows us the heart of God. Jesus says, “Those who have heard me have heard the Father,” (John 14:7-10). The book is organized in three sections:

• WHO IS GOD?

• WHAT CAN WE DO TO GROW IN FAITH?

• HOW WILL OUR LIVES CHANGE?

There is one short chapter with a journal entry for each of the 52 weeks in a year, giving the reader time to digest and apply insights during that week. Each chapter includes:

• Opening message

• Supporting scripture

• Lectio Divina meditation

• Journal questions and notes page

Through the Lectio Divina practice, you may experience the radical love of God and have your own revelations – ultimately transforming your heart and mind with renewed purpose, direction and peace.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”(2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)

With the pandemic starting in 2020, came an unprecedented period of social distancing and global fear. The world and the way people lived was significantly disrupted. People were experiencing months of loneliness and social isolation, with many asking, “Where is God in all of this?” Seeking answers and encouragement, the author came across an ancient spiritual practice called Lectio Divina – which means “sacred reading.” Lectio Divina is a powerful way of connecting with God and learning to hear His voice. Since it’s difficult to know God without spending time in His Word, the practice offers a journey to experience God’s guidance, blessing and peace through sacred scripture. Chris is a business coach, facilitator, speaker and author. She has her Master’s in Business Management, spending over 30 years helping leaders and teams create exceptional businesses that positively impact people’s lives. She is an Expert EOS© Implementer, helping over 100 businesses integrate the Entrepreneurial Operating System to improve their company’s health. Her work with local businesses resulted in the opportunity for her and her husband to acquire a workplace safety company, where she serves as CEO. Finally, she received her theological education while working on a Master’s of Divinity at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul. She has two adult sons and lives west of the Twin Cities with her husband and two dogs on a hobby farm, where great fields punctuated with bright yellow dandelions sow wishes in the wind – filled with the promise of re-birth and restoration. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

    Preface

With the pandemic starting in 2020, came an unprecedented period of social distancing and global fear. The world and the way people lived was significantly disrupted. People were experiencing months of loneliness and social isolation, with many asking, Where is God in all of this?

Seeking answers and encouragement, I came across an ancient spiritual practice called Lectio Divina, which means sacred reading. Lectio Divina is a powerful way of connecting with God and learning to hear his voice. Since it’s difficult to know God without spending time in his Word, the practice offers a journey to experience God’s guidance, blessing, and peace.

The purpose of writing Revelations of God is to share a path for people to find and know God. It breaks my heart that people may go an entire lifetime without realizing God is love, his essence dwells in every living thing, his love resides in every human being who loves one another, and his creation of our exquisitely beautiful world was prepared for our JOY!

One of the best ways to know God is to read the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament. As the living Word of God, Jesus’s example of love and healing shows us the heart of God. Jesus says, Those who have heard me have heard the Father (John 14:7-10).

Getting to know God starts with understanding his character and how he works within our lives. As Jesus says in John 10:10, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. The book is organized in three sections:

    • Who is God?

    • What Can We Do to Grow in Our Faith?

    • How Will Our Lives Change?

    Weekly Meditations:

There is one short chapter with a journal entry for each of the fifty-two weeks in a year. Each weekly chapter includes:

    • Opening message

    • Supporting scripture

    • Lectio Divina meditation

    • Journal questions and notes page

While Revelations of God is written for people who are interested in finding and knowing God, the book was also written for my own spiritual growth. No matter where we are in our faith journey, we all need to continually find our way back to God.

My prayer is that through the Lectio Divina practice you will experience the radical love of God and have your
