    INTRODUCTION

" Just a closer walk with thee

Grant it, Jesus, if you please.

    Daily walking close to thee

Let it be, Dear Lord, let it be"

IS IT POSSIBLE that this verse from an old spiritual from childhood might sum up what it is many of us are looking for? What will a closer walk with our spiritual guide and mentor do for us? Something is there, inside, pushing us to seek out a time, place and handholding technique for navigating through our time on earth. Why, seems to be and will probably remain one of the great mysteries of life. But while here on earth, many find comfort, guidance, emotional and spiritual help in using a bit of time each day to be alone with our thoughts, in our own space and without distractions from the myriad things that seek our attention.

We can designate this time as a centering moment, a moment to still ourselves from the busyness of life. This is a time to center our thoughts, feelings and emotions in a productive time of quiet listening to what our bodies and minds are telling us. To establish a practice of centering, find some time during the waking hours to go within yourself and make a conscious effort to be calm and attentive to you and the God within. You might also designate this time as meditation time.

Whatever term you use, centering moment, meditation, quiet time, listening or prayer time, know that any time used in the silence is of benefit to your mind, soul and body.

You can begin your moment with Good morning. Good evening. Hello, how are you? Or just take a few deep breaths. It does not matter what time of day you set aside to center yourself and be in the presence of God, just accept that this is a good time to be instructed, blessed, guided, and even healed. This is your time to settle in your own mind what it is you want to do, be, have, express and live. If you need to set a limit of minutes or hours on this time, that is up to you. Just know that this is the emotional and spiritual space for you to meditate and center yourself in what brings you a measure of peace. If a closer walk with your Inner Source is what you seek and need, then this is what you should have.

The writings in this book are gathered here and proposed as a source of inspiration in setting the tone for your daily reading and fostering a close walk with your inner spirit. Hopefully you will find them thought provoking and meaningful for your spiritual growth. Be open to lessons and answers from expected and unexpected sources and enjoy your time with these messages.

Each meditation or reading is anchored with a scripture for the day. Treat these as suggestions and feel free to use your own scripture or reading from another book of your choosing. As with any meditation, how you begin your session may or may not be the way your session ends. The thoughts and answers that come will often be different from what you expected. Know they are all good.

Thank you for reading this offering and for your support in this effort. May all of your centering moments and meditation periods bring you whatever you need to move forward in success and happiness. God bless you.

    CENTERING MOMENT and PRAYER

GOOD MORNING! GOOD afternoon. Good evening. Whatever time you are coming to your centering moment and your meditation, relax and prepare to enjoy your time with your higher power. How are you? Are you able to read, think, and feel? Great!

In your appointed quiet time of talking with God, begin with a few moments of deep and quiet breathing. This helps you relax and focus on the time at hand. It also helps to remove thoughts of the outside world and frees your mind to take advantage of this powerful part of your day.

Think briefly for a moment of what this time means, what you are doing when center yourself. When you quiet yourself you move into a
