He Will Meet You There

About this ebook
The chapters in this book are more or less a greater part of my adult Christian walk. It has been very rewarding even through times that were difficult. To see little children run to meet you, calling out, "Sister, Sister," a smile on their faces, all they wanted was a hug-that is love. Our Bible states in 1 Corinthians 12:28 that God has set in the church-first, apostles, secondarily, prophets, thirdly, teachers, after that, miracles, then healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. For years, I have known that my calling was helps. Helps encompasses a fairly wide variation of offices, from teaching, speaking, aiding others, even to the lovely task of sweeping the floor. One of my greatest rewards has been leading the elderly to Christ each time they were days away from leaving this world. To know we will meet again in heaven, what a blessing. My hope is that in this manuscript, you, the reader, sense the agape love of being a part of God's plan and purpose in this life. To you, my love.

Cook’s Bridge
As we approached this special haven tucked away from the humdrum of everyday life, I knew it was set apart by our Lord. Many times I would travel twelve miles to walk across the bridge and talk to God. The bridge stretches across a creek with its tree-lined banks, birds on the limbs singing. The water comes rippling down from the north under the bridge, then begins to make a turn eastward and from there turns back to the west and out of sight. This makes me think of our trials. They travel seemingly from one direction to another. Then one day, God simply says to us, Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
And those trials are swept away.
There are times when our bedroom is where we make our little hideaway. Five minutes with the Lord in the midst of a very busy day renews our strength.
Years ago, our home was at the end of a lane. There was a thicket of pine trees on the property line. I discovered that someone had left a five-gallon bucket among the trees. Perfect! I turned it over, and here was just the place to sit while I had my prayer time. In our own prayer closet, it seems God whispers a word that will carry us through storms, helps us endure heartaches, and shows us things in the distance that we have yet to experience. God will reveal false friends, especially when they are using one of His children to their advantage.

The Calling
At the age of fourteen, I attended church with my uncle and family. Uncle Jim pastored a Baptist church in an East Texas community. It was during the period of time that I realized that God was dealing with me concerning my walk with Him. Truly I had no idea of what it was all about. My self-worth was zero, so I dared not mention it to a living soul. Since we were Baptists, women certainly did not step out in a calling, although it never left my mind.
After graduating from high school, I, like many, soon married and began a family. But the marriage was a total disaster for our two little boys and myself. After six-plus years of mental and physical abuse, we were forced to end the union. For the first time since I had left my parent’s home, I was allowed to attend church and worship my Lord. Soon I was in the nursery, working with those sweet little ones. This was the beginning of my journey and the calling from God.
Several years later, my two young sons and I moved to Florida. Two years after that, I was again in the three-year-old nursery with all those precious little ones. Soon after, I began to teach eleven to thirteen-year-old boys. This age group will cause you to become, shall we say, sanctified or throw in the towel. Your hair could turn snow white
