My Story

Living life often lands us in places of little hope, little direction, and little purpose. We find ourselves in places that are void of life, places of darkness, places where we feel numb and emotionless. Death, divorce, illness, pain, and so many other situations can lead to this place of desolation—this place of darkness.

Not so very long ago, I was in this place. I was continuing to go and move but with no sense of direction or drive. My family and I went through several years of illness and death of close family members and friends. My sister Gail battled cancer for five years. We struggled through surgeries, hospitalizations, chemotherapies, and radiation therapies. It was a rocky road of active illness then remission to active illness again. My sister Vet and I embraced the ride.
