The Last Breaths of the Lion Heart
Sunset befalls gently upon the face of our beloved lion heart,
The last breath he took, I was not around,
His eyes were closed, and his lips were wide open,
His heartbeats I felt as I touched his heart gently,
I wiped off the sweat of his forehead, and coldness had come upon it,
His hands lay on his sides, and coldness had come upon them,
His feet, motionless, lay on a soft pillow under them, and coldness had come upon them,
The man that would cross Karun* River alongside the sharks of Karun is no longer with us,
The man that would hop over from one end of the pool to the other in one stroke is no longer with us,
Mother Nature has come upon our beloved one to take him with herself in the grandest of adventures of all time,
The last breath our beloved took, I miss the most,
The last breath our beloved took, I wished to send my regards upon him,
He lay silently on his bed like the sleeping beauty, dreaming endless dreams, awaiting Mother Nature to take him under her wings like a giant bald eagle to where no one comes back from ever again,
Mother Nature has taken our beloved one with her, but she can’t take him away from our hearts and minds,
As sunrise comes upon us all, we send our regards to our beloved lion heart every day to let him know he has not been forgotten and to let him know we will all come one day to where he has gone, where no one will be ever alone, sad, or silent.
In the memory of my dad, who was always there for his family, and for anyone else asking for a helping hand. He passed away in the late hours of August 10, 2021, and missed the next sunrise to be.
** Karun River is approximately six hundred miles long and passes through many cities including Khorramshahr, where my father would swim in Karun River.
Success: A Dream that Comes True
As someone said once in NHK channel (Japanese broadcasting system for international audience), Dream big and not small.
To dream big is not a bad thing even if you do not achieve your dream entirely. But just to be on the road of achievement makes you that much closer to the realm of success which I define as something you always dreamed to do and finally have a chance to achieve that dream. As my good friend, Victor Hugo, said once in high school, Do what you think is right and not what someone else thinks you should do. Then, you cannot doubt as to whom the success or failure belongs to.
As I see, life is something you experience day by day, and every day is somewhat different then every other day. Every day brings you an experience that you might embrace or not at that moment, but it gives you a chance to choose. So you can, even, benefit from a bad experience and learn to react differently the next time you encounter a similar experience and reach a positive outcome. In my case, even though I have had very isolated life for the most part and number of bad experiences since childhood, I still managed to put down my day-to-day imaginary or real experience on a piece of paper and turn it into a small book of poetry written in English and not in my native language (Persian), for any inquisitive mind to spend a few minutes, once in a while and be drowned in an ocean of deep thoughts and think about everything that is around them on this earth and everything else that is beyond this earth.
Poetry—a safe zone of comfort and a heavenly gift
I truly hope my simple writings with down-to-earth language would make it possible for anyone to become interested in poetry. I would also hope that anyone reading my writings would experience a momentary peace and focus of one’s mind to see oneself and one’s existence from a distance. I have to confess that poetry has become, for me, for the longest of times, a safe zone to be in and roam around freely and to leave this zone at will and come back to the ordinary zone of daily life. Considering the world we live in today and the world we have lived in the past of many ages ago, poetry truly becomes a heavenly gift that allows us to raise our self-awareness and awareness of our surroundings, which makes us to be one step ahead of every other living organism on this earth. I also believe that we should wholeheartedly save this treasure for the future generations to come and not to let it disappear into the thin air, leaving us empty-handed with no remains of a road map to look at our past, present, or the future to come.
Finally in the words of John Lennon, You may say I am a dreamer, but I hope I am not the only one.
Lastly I am truly grateful for the friendly advice of a high school friend, Victor Hugo, who said that to do what you think is right and not what someone else thinks you should do.
portrait of a giant piece of solid rock with a wide opening on the top and some cracks in other places. A face of a woman can be observed on the lower left side of the portrait. Also, a face comes out from the top part where one can focus on either sides of opening of the rock and start to see image of a face of a man who looks
