The SON'S City Reentry Management Systems: A Comprehensive and Comprehensible Program-Ministry Manual
()
About this ebook
The title of this work "The SON'S City Reentry Management Systems" is the result of viewing it as a lighted path for those who have been subjected to darkness in their life due to addiction to alcohol and other drugs and have been victims of frequent trips to penal institutions and constant use and abuse of said substances. The word SON'S refers to the Lord. The balance of the title is indicative of the knowledge that Jesus loved the city and that much of His ministry was founded there according to this author. The play on words SON'S versus sun's is to infer that the light produced by the sun is not comparable to the light induced in each of us by the Light of our life. This light is on the path that can lead one to successfully entering a life void of the pitfalls of those that keep one in the revolving door in and out of both addictions to drugs and prison.

Section 1: Intensive Intake, Assessment, and Case Management System
The SON’S City Reentry Management Systems
Mission Statement
Mission: To create an organization that will provide multiple relevant services to underserved and disenfranchised members of our society including folks of color, prisoner reentrants, and their families, and folks with mental health issues including substance abusers, thus responding to the public safety concerns of citizens impacted by the large influx of reentering prisoners into their communities.
This organization is faith-based with a Christian foundation and will focus on biblical tenets in the performance of its functions less preaching and proselytizing unless expressly desired by its clients.
A. Intake Essentials:
Determination of eligibility (done by phone usually)
This is the time to determine if an individual can be helped by the SON’S City Reentry Management Systems (SCRMS) services. If not, SCRMS will refer that individual to an appropriate agency.
Determining eligibility should occur prior to filling out the entire intake documents.
An individual’s name, address, and phone number should be recorded, however, prior to determining eligibility.
After getting the essential information, a statement that explains SCRMS services will be given.
If the person indicates eligibility for these services, the staff will make an appointment for a face-to-face intake and assessment.
If the person is not eligible for the services, the staff will make an effort to refer that person to an agency that can assist them and file an appropriate record of the referral.
The statement for eligibility determination:
The SON’S City Reentry Management Systems (SCRMS) is dedicated to assisting individuals with criminal records in their efforts to resocialize successfully into the Southern California region. The individuals served live in San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties; do not have certain felonies; and sincerely acknowledge their need to receive the guidance, mentoring, and other services that SCRMS provides. The provision of transportation, clothing, food and shelter, and other basic needs is an important part of what is needed; however, those things come as privileges of membership in SCRMS and will be provided by its committed partners. In this section, Southern California
is referred to as it was in this region that this ministry was originally modeled. Each organization implementing this work will adapt its ministry to the region it
