Death Knocked and God Answered is based on true events. Death came and attempted to destroy and kill. Death attempted to take the life of our child, our firstborn, the child God blessed us with. But our faith in God and our belief in His word, which is found in Psalm 91, gave us the strength to fight back.

When doctors and hospitals failed us, when there seemed to be no hope, death knocked, and God answered!

Peer pressure or a wolf in sheep’s clothing? I believe the latter. It may be because I am the father, but I have been around long enough to know. The enemy (satan) seeks to destroy and kill in any way, shape, or form. If he can disguise himself through a BFF, he will, whatever it takes to get the job done.

Death Knocked and God Answered was placed in my heart immediately after our daughter was healed. I believe God placed this title in my heart as a title of love, faith, and power. Through Him, victory is always possible for the believer. Which of you will not answer the call for your son or daughter? God is our Heavenly Father who loves us just as we love our children. He will be the first to answer the call for His beloved children.

You were a gift to us from God; our love for you is what gave us the strength to fight in those darkest days and to take back what God blessed us with, you. Our love and trust in God gave us the power to stand up and defeat death when it knocked in your life. Never forget what God has done in your life; love Him and praise Him the rest of your days with every breath that you take. Love you, Mija!

God, I thank You for being a great and merciful God. Without You in our lives and the answered prayers You blessed us with, our daughter would no longer be with us today. It was by Your healing power that a miracle happened in our darkest hours. When there seemed to be no hope, You gave us hope, and Your light guided us through it all. Your presence was felt, and I thank You for it all. We praise and worship Your holy name. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

To all the staff and doctors at Houston Methodist Hospital, thank you. Your motto We care—dedication to serving and helping others—was demonstrated through your love and care given not only to my daughter but also all your patients. We are greatly appreciative for all you do. May God bless Houston Methodist always.

Dr. Kawai, you were godsent, or should I say God sent us to you? Your words, I don’t care about the money. What I want is for your daughter to walk out of this hospital with her baby, have been engraved in our hearts, and we will never forget it. Your love, passion, and dedication for your patients were demonstrated at that moment and throughout the entire time you treated our daughter. We will be forever in your debt. There are not enough words that we can say that will show our gratitude for what you did. May God bless you always. Thank you.

Introduction

There are denominations/religions out there that believe miracles no longer happen, that it all stopped thousands of years ago. They believe that God’s healing powers are a thing of the past. I ask them, Where is your faith? The God I know still is a God who heals and performs miracles even as you read this. He is the same God four thousand years ago, today, and for eternity.

I can tell you about many miracles my family and I have had in our family alone and have witnessed firsthand. However, there is one miracle I want to share with you in this book. The miracle when death knocked and God answered. Death crouches at everyone’s door, waiting for the opportune time to destroy and kill.
