About this ebook

Advanced beings from somewhere in our galaxy descending on mountaintops, appeared to men in burning bushes. Angels, known as cherubim with four wings and wheels, flew with the sound of thunder. Beings, who ate, drank, and communicated with ancient biblical people, were Earth's first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization. We, the humans of today, refer to these beings as the God of the Bible. In this book, L. Sheldon Oldford compares the knowledge we have of science and technology to the characteristics of the biblical God as the unseen, ever-present, and all-knowing deity only to find that this being is more like a flesh-and-blood ancient astronaut. This astronaut arrived on Earth thousands of years ago and made contact with biblical figures, such as Adam, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Ezekiel, Elijah, and Elisha, which brought about the establishment of moral and religious laws that set humanity on a course of needing a savior.

Could it be that Jesus Christ was an actual descendant of a flesh-and-blood father named Yahweh, a real-life ancient astronaut?

Can a Christian believe in evolution and still be a Christian?

Could it be that the ancient alien theory is closer to the truth than any of Earth's religions?

Are we truly the product of an extraterrestrial race of giants, created in the image and likeness of them?

    Introduction

The age old question, as to whether or not we are the only intelligent life in the universe has in my opinion been answered a long time ago from the very pages of the bible. Are the interactions between God and the biblical people divine encounters or the first documented accounts of first contact with extraterrestrials? Is the God of the Bible the great Creator or is he an ancient astronaut who traveled to Earth with many others a very long time ago? Are we created in his image or were we created in their image and after their likeness just as the Bible states? If so, then who are the beings from whose image and likeness are we created? Since our creation, humans have developed into the greatest thinkers and inventors on the planet. Mankind has now traveled to the moon, placed robots on Mars, sent spacecraft on long voyages into the galaxy, and gazed at faraway planets, stars, and star systems with powerful telescopes. The astronomers and scientists of our time marvel at how the universe came to be and attempt to solve its great mysteries. We continue to search the cosmos in hopes of one day finding another Earth-like planet or discover other intelligent life-forms.

I am not an astronomer, a scientist, a theologian, or an archeologist. I am a police officer seeking to find missing pieces of the God puzzle but in my search, I now have more questions about the very character of the biblical God. I don’t claim to have the true interpretation of the Bible, but I believe that today’s scholars and theologians should reexamine the Bible from a more realistic view and a different perspective. What I’ve read and studied from the Bible has led me to believe that the biblical God may not be the great Creator of the universe, but it is an alien being from a distant planet. This is still the same being that created Adam, made promises to Abraham, led the Israelites out of Egypt, spoke to Moses, gave us laws and commandments, and later sent his son to die for us. And by alien being, I am not suggesting little gray humanoids with skinny bodies and large almond-shaped eyes and heads but a giant race of beings, whom we resemble, that landed here on Earth hundreds of thousands of years ago and began our civilization and religions.

I base the majority of my information from the Bible and a series of books written by the late Zecharia Sitchin, called the Earth Chronicles. Some have reported that the interpretations of the ancient Sumerian texts by Sitchin are incorrect. My thoughts are that Sitchin may not have been 100% correct, but to be fair, he could not have been 100% wrong either. I can’t prove that Sitchin’s writings are true and accurate, but it has taken him over sixty years to translate the Sumerian tablets and therefore must be given strong consideration. What proof would make other interpretations of the Sumerian texts correct and Sitchin’s wrong? Which translation do we believe? Sitchin’s history, invested time, and what I have discovered in the Bible would have me lean more toward his interpretations. Before attempting to discredit Sitchin, because his theories and interpretations are difficult to accept, one must take a deeper look at the so-called Creator of this vast universe from the Bible itself.

It is estimated that the stars, planets, and galaxies are so numerous in our universe that it would be like attempting to count every grain of sand from every beach on the planet. Yet we read in the Bible that God has a human-like body with hands, feet, back, eyes, ears, etc. He eats meat and seasoned grains, drinks wine, and rests. He doesn’t know what’s happening on planet Earth; he has to come down to see for himself. He has to be reasoned with by mortal men. He becomes angry, saddened, joyful, impatient, and jealous. For years, I have been trying to make sense of it all, asking myself, why I haven’t noticed this before? I have searched for wisdom and guidance with the ancient astronaut theory. It is not my intent to cause a deception in the church, but based on the wording of the Bible, I can’t help but see the obvious.

I have often wondered why certain passages give descriptions of angels that seem to be a similar description as to that of modern-day aircraft. Some biblical descriptions of angels describe them has having wheels and four wings. I have always thought this to be odd, and with the many different creation myths, I was fascinated and came to the realization that the ancient alien theory seemed to be more plausible. Then upon reading the Bible again from a more investigatory view, I could clearly see the alien connection. I now have over fourteen years as a police officer, including time as a detective, a total of seventeen years in law enforcement. I have responded to homicides, robberies, domestic disputes, thefts, all manner of accidents, and so on. I reviewed and critiqued numerous police reports for preparation of criminal trials waiting to be issued by a district or county attorney.

After years of checking reports for mistakes by patrol officers, I found myself conducting the same process to the Bible. As a police officer, I have learned to think outside the box and take an investigation a step further in gathering all the evidence I need to present a case. When it comes to reading the Bible, one must take everything as a whole and not focus on one scripture or one chapter or one book.

I have been raised in a strict Pentecostal Christian home and have attended church all my early life. During my teenage years, I attended church for weeklong and sometimes monthlong revival meetings. I attended Bible college at the age of twenty, preached the Gospel on street corners, from pulpits to crowds from five hundred to three thousand five hundred, and counseled those who were new to the Christian faith. I have read the Bible through many times and in several different versions.

The reason for writing this book is to bring to light certain passages from the Bible that clearly describe God as a being not of this world. Even though the Bible does not tell of it directly, my goal is that one will see the obvious after reading this book. I believe that an individual can believe in the ancient alien theory and continue to be a Christian believer.

There is still the hope of eternal life because Jesus Christ is still the Savior of mankind, and one does not have to believe in God as Creator of all things to accept Christ as Savior. The religious, scientific, and archeological peoples all have it right in some way or another. Instead of arguing over who is right or wrong, we should come together for the purposes of finding the truth and agree to compare ideas. Maybe then we as a society may come to an agreement and move forward as a civilization. Some may disagree with the ancient alien theory and still believe that we are the only life in the cosmos. I sincerely believe we are not alone and believe that the Bible just may prove the point. God may not be as big as we were taught to believe he is and may not have created the universe, but he—or they—did create humanity and therefore seeded our civilization. There is a good possibility that the ancient Sumerian gods were the same beings described in the Bible as our own God Jehovah and others. One must take into account that the interactions between ancient men and the gods/extraterrestrials were written down with the ancients understanding and vocabulary of their time. We today would have a different description of the events that have occurred back in antiquity.

When making a decision to arrest, Police Officers must take into consideration all the facts to help them develop probable cause to make the arrest. This is known in the law enforcement world as the totality of circumstances, where all the facts are taken into account and not one single fact. In a court of law, a prosecutor must have evidence to convict a suspect of the crime in which he/she committed. The prosecution may not have all the evidence, but all that is required is enough of the evidence to show and prove that the suspect committed a particular crime. One does not need all the pieces of a puzzle to know what the finished puzzle will be. Just enough of the pieces are needed to give the observer an understanding and a mental picture of what it will look like, even if some of the pieces are missing. The Bible does not paint the entire picture or provide all the details. There are books missing from the Bible along with its very own contradictions, which will later be elaborated on in following chapters. The Anunnaki, which Sitchin wrote about from his translations of the Sumerian cuneiform tablets, are quite possibly our creators. In a nutshell, Sitchin described these beings from the Earth Chronicles as extraterrestrials who landed here on planet Earth approximately 450,000 years ago in search of gold to replenish their dwindling atmosphere. Their planet, known as Nibiru, has a 3,600-year elliptical orbit around our sun and returns by way of Pluto. They later create humanity by mixing the blood of their own species with primitive females on Earth. After trial and error over and over again, they finally get the right product and name it Adamu (Adam) ; the rest is history. This has not weakened my faith but has instead strengthened it. Since our knowledge of the universe is so much broader, it makes more sense to me and raises the probability that the Bible stories are accurate accounts of human and extraterrestrial contacts.

Faith is believing in something you cannot see, but the gods of the Bible were at one time seen by men and communed with them. Faith means something different to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses then it does to us. These ancient biblical men saw God, spoke with him, ate with him, argued with him, and even wrestled with him. We today base our faith on ancient occurrences that we read about and chose to believe it, because we have not seen God. One day they will return to reunite with their creation and then every eye will see them. Not too far in the distant future the Anunnaki or the beings that created us will return, until then we are to continue in our morals they instilled in us. Where would we be as a civilization today if we did not have morals? This of course is another indication that there is something very unique and different about humanity that is separate from the animal kingdom.

We are also to continue in doing our best to honor and obey the laws passed down to us by our creators. As you continue to read, please have an open mind to what I am trying to present. Question what is actually being said by God, question his character and compare it to what you know today in regards to the universe, and put yourself in the shoes of those ancient biblical people when they are encountering the biblical gods.

    Chapter 1

    Beginnings

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. NKJV (New King James Version) (Genesis 1:1)¹

In the 1950s, a scientist by the name of Clair Patterson concluded in his research that the Earth and solar system are 4.55 billion years old (Iowa Pathways; Adapted from an article by Tim Lane in Iowa Heritage Illustrated, Summer 2005, vol. 86, no. 2. Iowa City: State Historical Society of Iowa). Many Christian preachers claim that the Earth is only six thousand years old and some believe this happened when God created the Earth and everything in it, yet we have fossils of dinosaurs dating back millions of years. What many in the religious world need to realize is that scientific and archeological evidence can prove the existence of the dinosaurs and other ancient fossils of early man and animals. The religious world has no proof to back its claims, other than that of faith based on scriptures and personal experiences. Just because something doesn’t coincide with the Bible doesn’t mean it is wrong or evil. I believe the creation of man was more than 6,000 years ago. And the creation or the birthing of the planet and the universe were billions of years prior.

Genesis 1:2 states that the Earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. This is an interesting verse because it states God created but doesn’t state when, and verse 2 has the Earth being without form and void yet it had water. If a supreme being (God) created the Earth, it should have been made perfect from the beginning. It makes no sense for the authors of the Bible to describe the Earth as formless and void. This would have been before the fall of man, meaning that there was no sin. So if God created everything perfectly, then why was it created formless and void? Could it be that God/Creator may have been here preparing this planet hundreds of thousands of years ago? Then after preparing the planet for livable conditions, humans were created to inhabit and rule over it. I have wondered about this and thought that, if the great unseen spirit we know as God is truly the Creator of this massive universe and is an ever-present entity, then why does Genesis describe the Earth in this fashion? And how is God hovering over this tiny insignificant planet when he is compared to being larger than anything and is everywhere in the universe at the same time?

I believe the Spirit of God described by Moses is something he was attempting to interpret, like something else that was with God or a part of him. (I will elaborate more on this in a later chapter.) Sitchin explains in his book Genesis Revisited chapter 3, page 47 that the Spirit of God was put in place of the Hebrew word ru’ach, meaning wind. Therefore, the scripture should have read more like a mighty wind swept over the waters. In Exodus 14:21, we read of God sending an east wind, which took all night to part the waters and afterward dry ground appeared. Then we have the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, by which the people heard the sound of a mighty rushing wind. So is the Spirit of God a wind or is it something technological associated with God causing the wind and therefore misunderstood by ancient man?

My belief is that Genesis 1:1 is describing the Earth in its early stages of life or its birthing process billions of years ago. The creation of man is of course millions upon millions of years later. And is being described by Moses and his understanding of what he is either being told or shown. If the Anunnaki came here approximately 450,000 years ago, as the late Zecharia Sitchin claimed, it may be possible that they were humanity’s creators and are the same gods as described in the Bible by Moses and other biblical figures. They find this planet after searching for thousands of years and sent probes to scout it, similar to what we are doing today in looking for other planets that may sustain life. Our creation came hundreds of thousands of years later through targeted mutation by them creating the first human (Adamu/Adam) so he can work the mines or, as the Bible says, placed in the garden where there is gold and the gold is good there (Genesis 2:11–12).

The reason why I believe this is because of today’s knowledge of our universe. To understand where I am coming from, one must first take into account the vastness of our universe to really understand what I am attempting to convey. All anyone has to do is look up into the night sky and see how many stars are glimmering. Depending on where you are gazing from will determine how much of the night sky you will see. Each one of those white dots are gas giants millions and billions of light years away and most likely larger than our own sun. No one can count the exact number of stars and planets out there in the cosmos. Science and astronomy can only make calculated guesses as to how many there may possibly be. Billions, trillions or even sextillion, it’s anyone’s guess.

To explain my point a little further, let’s take the star called Betelgeuse for example. Looking at the constellation Orion, it is the left-shoulder star from Earth’s view and it is so massive that our own sun could fit into it approximately a billion times. Now let’s downsize a little and compare our sun. Think about the last time you were on an airplane looking down at the Earth and how tiny everything appeared. How massive did the Earth look as you peered across the sky? You could take a million or more Earths and put them into our sun. Everything
