Ben’s Mysterious Summer
Ben was getting ready for bed when he had seen something in the window. He didn’t know what it was so he yelled out to his big brother, Mike. Hey, Mike!
Ben said. Come quickly! There is something very scary in my window, and I am afraid of it.
Did Ben’s Brother Mike see what was in the window too?
Well, Mike ran to Ben’s bedroom to see what Ben was yelling about but saw nothing in Ben’s window. Then Mike told Ben to go to bed because he was just imagining things. Ben went to bed but left the light on. In the morning when Ben woke up, everything was okay.
And then…
Ben’s dad said, Come outside and see your new tree house. I just finished it.
Ben said, "Oh, what a good job you did, Dad! And you even made me a ladder. Thanks, Dad. You’re the greatest dad in the world! Ben couldn’t wait to call his friend Danny to come over in to see his new treehouse.
What did Danny think of Ben’s new tree house?
Danny came over to see Ben’s new treehouse. He said, Your dad did a great job on it.
Let’s go up and look out the window and see what we can see,
said Ben.
Okay,
said Danny. Well, the boys climbed up the ladder and got into the treehouse. Oh, this is a big treehouse,
said Danny, And look out the window, you can see everywhere!
Yes,
said Ben, and there is my mom’s flower garden.
Suddenly, Ben asked, Do you see what I see?
What is that?
said Danny?
I don’t know
said Ben it looks like the same thing that was at my window last night and when I tried to show it to my brother Mike, it was gone. He said I was just imagining it.
Well,
Danny said, maybe he will see it too.
Well, do you think Ben’s big brother Mike will ever get a chance to see it too?
Well, Ben and Danny went for a walk. Suddenly, Danny asked, Do you hear what I hear?
Yes,
said Ben, "it sounds like a little puppy whimpering. It looks like it’s coming from over there in that ditch pipe.
Yes,
