About this ebook

Understanding what the Holy Spirit does in one’s life is compelling. Having the gift of the Holy Spirit marks one as belonging to the Most High. The Holy Spirit is Christ living within us, thus, giving us power to live transformed holy and righteous lives. Eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard the things the Church can do if they’d use the Holy Ghost’s power collectively.

Apostle John shares a riveting story of events leading up to coming of the Holy Spirit and his dynamic and powerful entrance into the hearts of those who believed. The apostle tells how it was the plan of God to manifest Christ in believers through the power of his resurrection.

John traces the power and moving of the Holy Spirit in his own life, how he was born in sin and, thus, subjected to its power and that he needed a greater power to release him from the prison of sin.

He leads us to the Roman Empire who dared to say that they are all powerful with reigning authority over all land and humanity with its deified Caesars serving as gods. The display of God’s sovereignty proved that the Holy Ghost’s power supersedes the false power of Rome and its Caesars.

The footsteps of Jesus rumbles across the pages as John reminds his audience of Jesus’s departure as comforter and how another Comforter would come and continue the work of salvation.

So profound is this plan of eternal salvation, the saints awesome inspired testimonies poured from their hearts with such warmth and gladness.

Apostle John journeys to Pentecost to speak of the great advent of the Holy Ghost as promised by Jesus. Cloven tongues like fire entered an Upper Room and sealed all the believers with the presence of Jesus in the form of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s power was demonstrated in such a way that it left no doubt that this he that is, was, and who was to come. The Power did not tarry in his coming and his presence forever.

He deals with the Holy Ghost’s working in the lives of the chosen and within the body of Christ with such force and power.

Finally John reminisces on the attributes of the person of the Spirit and how he is one with the Father and the Son.

    Preface

The immoral enemy, Satan, steered Adam away from God’s command by one act of disobedience. The deception led the entire human race into a fallen and corrupt state which to be controlled by the unseen power called sin.

It is known that sin is, A dreadful and powerful moral disease. Sin was the fault and corruption of nature that engendered the offspring of Adam. Whereby man was very far gone from the original righteousness and in his nature inclined to do evil.

By sin’s forceful persuasion, The world had been deceived to believe that sin was a light matter, not important, or even dangerous. It was veiled under courtesy, politeness, and good manners. Sin did not discriminate between class, race, and not even religion. Its power affected man’s moral constitution, aspects of his mind, understanding, affections, reasoning power, and will. The human race had sunken to wickedness and every thought and intentions was evil continually with the unfruitful works of darkness, detestable consciousness and defilement of all sorts.

The world showed the appearances of godliness when the heart was far from God, and missed the mark of righteousness to where God had regretted he had ever made man. It grieved him in his heart that his creation, whom he created in his image, was utterly corrupted to its core. Man was not capable of any good deed.

God the Father and his love for the human race was not willing that any person should perish; therefore, put forth a plan of redemption that would bring salvation to the entire world.

The wisdom and power of the salvation plan was on this wise: In eternity past, Logos (Jesus the Word) was with God, and at the same time was God. At the right time in human history, God—the eternal Logos (Word,) became flesh and was called Jesus Christ.

Jesus sacrificed his life that we might receive the righteousness of God the Father. On the third day after his resurrection, Jesus rose from the grave with all power in his hands.

After his ascension into heaven, he returned to earth in the person of God the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is omnipotent in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. He is omniscient in counsel, might, wisdom and knowledge. He is omnipresent everywhere at the same time. His glory transcends that of the sun, moon and stars. His brightness is able to illuminate the soul with the brilliance of his holiness.

With the redemptive plan completed, God the Holy Spirit transforms man’s consciousness and intention so he is able to do every good work.

    Chapter 1

When the Fullness of Time Came

I was born as a prisoner from a fierce war that was waged in time past. Being wounded in complete darkness, emptiness, and separation from a God who created me, my purpose of existence was in jeopardy. Sin, the culprit, dominated my flesh and controlled every aspect of my life. Sin seemed to have had become the victor.

As a result of the reigning power that possessed me, rebellion against the God of creation was what I ate, slept, and breathed comfortably.

At times, I wanted to change course, but found that it was no easy task. I neither had the will or the power to bring change to my life. I always ended back into the same state of mind mentally and spiritually. Sin’s power had controlled me such that I could not break free of its grip. It would take another power to create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me.

Reared as a young Jewish boy, I was taught the precepts of God. Yet I never did what God wanted. Instead, I did the very things he hated. O’ wretched man that I was! When I wanted to do right, I did wrong. The evil I did not want to do, that was what I did. Trying to live a life that pleased God was like a fish trying to survive on dry land.

To look at me in my sinful state, you would have seen John; to see inside of John, you would have seen dead man’s bones. Sin had isolated me from God, ultimately, bringing death to my soul. Who could have rescued me from a life plagued and controlled by sin and death and keep me pure and righteous for all eternity?

At the right time in human history, God said, Let my light shine out of darkness. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, born under the Mosaic Law (Old Testament) and under the dominance of the Roman Empire so that this Light would give men the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of his Son.

The promised Messiah came as Scriptures foretold and was revealed to the world. I have seen him, and I have testified that the wonderful One from the beginning was the Word that became flesh, and he was with God and was indeed God.

He is Life and the Light for all men. This Life and Light became flesh to shine light in the darkness of man’s soul. God’s love for the world brought Jesus to die as a ransom for sinners—a sacrifice promised to be a sweet-smelling savor for the entire world.

The Spirit of the Lord was upon Christ, for he was anointed to proclaim the good news to those held captive by the unseen power called sin. He preached the good news to those who was poor and in need of mercy. Jesus was sent to declare freedom to the prisoners of sin. See, He came to set the captives free!

He that has an ear to understand, understand that upon my confession of God Son’s birth, burial, and resurrection, the Spirit of God breathed into me and I became a living soul.

Delivered from the persuasion and condemnation of sin, Jesus saved my soul from death and forgave me of all my sins. I have been saved by His grace, baptized into His body, and I have been sealed in his righteousness. All to no merit of my own. My old life is gone and a new life has emerged from the redeeming power of Christ.

One gift I possessed was to be an eyewitness and proclaim the great promises and wonders of the Godhead. I was used as an vessel for our Christ—an honor I did not deserve. It was strictly of his abundant mercies that I had been chosen to share the Light to the world. When all things had been perfected through Jesus Christ, he sent his Promise.

I present to you the One who existed from eternity. I present what I have heard, what I have seen with my eyes, and what my hands have touched. I present the Word of God that was manifested in the flesh and now resides in the lives of believers. The One who died on an old rugged cross at Calvary and was resurrected from the grave. The One who has power to change lives forever!

    Chapter 2

    Rome or God?

The scepter of power departed from Judah. The Jews were under the domination of the Roman Empire.

The Roman Republic was founded in BC 753 by Romulus and Remus. Romulus became its first king. At which time the kingdom was very small and eventually grew to be a mighty kingdom.

In BC 146, Rome at war, defeated the Grecian Empire, who defeated the Medes and Persians, who defeated the Babylonians. These were all great empires of the past.

As Rome borders grew extensively, Palestine became a part of the expansion and became formally subjected to the ruling empire.

Religiously, Rome believed in many gods and credited their power of success to the many false gods they worshiped.

They trusted in the supernatural powers inhabited by natural objects such as trees, streams, and the heavens. They believed that the spirits affected one’s life in many ways. The Roman’s professed to be wise, yet, were fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, birds, four-footed animals, and creeping things.

Rome opposed the God of the Jews. Since the creation
