About this ebook

As children of God, we are called into prosperity and a successful life here on earth. Nevertheless, we cannot ignore the presence of the prince of this world who, from the very beginning deceived our first father and mother Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. We cannot therefore ignore the evil activities of the Devil against our very success and prosperity after he and his entire kingdom of darkness have been exposed to us. We cannot stay on the sideline with evil foundations and suffering without any answer or initiative after the spirit realm and the mystery of the kingdom of darkness have been revealed to us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Understanding effective and personal deliverance is one of the important tools to help us discover the hidden treasures the bible has for us.

    Introduction

God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his Wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried Out through Christ Jesus our Lord.

    —Ephesians 3:10-11

The primary reason for Christ’s coming was to redeem mankind, to give him an opportunity to reclaim the eternal life that was lost when man sinned in the Garden of Eden. Christ also came so that the power and authority of God’s kingdom could be restored. God sent his Son to take on the likeness of man. During the thirty-three years he walked on earth, the Son of God demonstrated for us the kind of life we children of God must live in order to be his followers. His was a life of suffering and service. He wants us to emulate his example. We must do the work that he did. (John 14:12)

God is sovereign. His sovereignty and power is not limited. He could have chosen any method to save humanity. However, he chose to send his only begotten son to live, suffer, and finally die on a hill called Calvary for the sins of mankind. Yes, he came and he opened the eyes of the blind, raised people from the dead, fed the hungry, and even cast out demons, but God is bigger than all of that. We must remember that he is sovereign, he is just, and his word is true. He has established his justice from the very beginning of the creation. If you eat its fruit, you are surely to die. (Gen. 2:17)

He gave his only begotten son as a just God, and it is man’s own part to invite him into his life through repentance and confession of sins. From the creation, God works with time, and in each generation, he reveals himself in a particular way without changing his ways—not only according to the spiritual need of that generation, but also according to the state of the heart in order to acknowledge the justice and the unsearchable wisdom of God. The result is like the parable of the farmer in the book of Matthew 13. What God has revealed will meet:

    a.   those to whom the domain of ministry is not unveiled to (2 Cor. 4:3-4)

    b.   those with the zeal for God but without God’s wisdom (Rom. 10:2-3)

    c.   those with a wrong interpretation of God’s word (2 Pet. 3:16)

    d.   those in the broad and easy way (Matt. 7:13)

The results of these are distortion of God’s word, blaspheming of the Holy Spirit, and confusion and division among those called to teach God’s oracles. Whatever our standpoint is, the ministry of deliverance from demonic oppression is complicated for man. It is complicated because it involved direct war between God’s instrument (a mortal blind human being) that must depend totally on God for the power to war against the unseen rulers in the unseen kingdom (demons, evil spirits).

Deliverance is complicated and despised because it is not the principal element of our salvation. Nevertheless, as long as it is ignored or malpracticed, the church of God or let’s say the children of God will remain weak, vulnerable to the devil, and nonaggressive. Consequently, many children of God will remain in bondage, spiritually weak and sick. Such is seen in Luke 13 with the woman whom the devil held captive for eighteen long years. The children of God will not enjoy the freedom and the abundant life that our Lord, Jesus Christ, gave to them until they learn to operate within the leadership of the Holy Spirit—within the will of God according to his calling in their lives, not within the doctrines of men or denominations.

We often hear the testimonies about children of God being delivered. This deliverance, however, is short-lived, and the cycle begins again. Unless we realize that these series of attacks are connected with spiritual bondage, we are doomed to repeat the cycle. We must submit to God and allow him to operate in our lives. Until we do, the agents of darkness will also continue to operate, rule, and occupy prominent positions in our midst.

On several occasions, our Lord Jesus Christ performed deliverance in the synagogues. Each time he faced opposition from the religious leaders who were supposed to teach, heal, and deliver the sheep of God from the power of the devil and sin, but because of their personal interest, they were not concerned about the well-being of God’s flock (Luke 13:11). Many of us who have received God’s revelation in this ministry of deliverance are doing it with wrong motives in order to have many members and make a name for ourselves. To make as much money as possible and, at the same time, making ourselves as the most holy not desiring to undergo deliverance. It required the strong and mighty hand of God and one of his methods—with the help of my wife—in order for me to accept being involved as a deliverance minister in the deliverance ministry.

Most of the time, I used to watch my wife engaged in deliverance with reservation. The truth is that whenever she was conducting deliverance, God used to reveal to me what was going on in the spirit; but fear took over, hindering me from being practically involved. I always had in mind that the ministry of demonic deliverance was very dangerous; of course it is. That fear was mostly great because, as a boy, my grandparents told many frightening stories about ghosts and, also, because I myself was still in need of deliverance. My wife’s great compassion for souls, her courage, and her experience inherited during her practice in the medical profession—crowned with God’s great anointing—makes her very aggressive, bold, and tireless. Fear has never been the case of my wife. I had been a pastor before my wife but was far from being involved in the deliverance ministry. Even though I was not ignorant of the need for a deliverance ministry, she was far ahead of me.

About twenty years ago, the Lord told us that the greatest need for his church today was deliverance. He said over ninety percent of the world is in the spirit world, with conscious and unconscious witches and wizards. Considering the fact that God has anointed us in this area of ministry, teaching, and engaging us to train deliverance ministers, we have yielded to the Lord. After several years of visitation, we have finally accepted God’s instruction to bring forth our contribution to add to what our other colleagues in the vineyard of God have already done through literature. Acknowledging that this is for the church of God, we are writing this book based on the teachings of the Holy Spirit, many years in the deliverance field across the continents, and our experiences from our spiritual and biological children as well as experiences in our personal lives.

    What We Must Know

Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, thus saith the Lord; thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou was created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou was upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou was perfect in thy ways from the day that thou was created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, o covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

    —Ezekiel 28:11-16

When we talk about demons, we are talking about living creatures, which have existed before the creation of man. They have been in God’s presence, in God’s government. They have been in Eden, the garden of God. They have been holy, full of wisdom, blameless, faithful, submissive, humble, ordained and anointed, obedient, and loving to God. They have served God and have been in God’s service occupying strategic high positions. They have received authority and spiritual power.

    They know God’s sovereignty, holiness,
