About this ebook

An Hourglass through Time gives us a view of biblical interpretation as it should be viewed, from our time to theirs, applying it to today after we understand how it was viewed then. It is all based on the biblical interpretation model of seeing how the scriptures were received by the original biblical audience then building a bridge for relevance to the contemporary audience. The biggest mistake we make in our Christian walks is to think God's words evolve and mean something different as time goes on; it is simply applied differently as time goes on and as our circumstances change. This process is done over and over as society and time marches on. When we look at biblical texts as we are looking through an hourglass, we grasp the word differently and with a fresh perspective, not necessarily a different one.

    About the Author

    The Book of Ruth

Commentary on the Contemporary Application and meaning regarding Ruth and Her Circumstances.

This commentary was written during the class taken at Liberty University, Rawlings School of Divinity. The Class is the Old Testament Orientation 1, and this is the first commentary I even attempted and did not write it willingly. It was required and after a lot of anxious thought about it, started to research it, write it and very much enjoyed it. This is just about how I submitted it to the professor, minus the title page, plus the application portion of the commentary. The application portion is designed to address the current political and divisive environment we live in, with a Christian perspective through the lens of time that applies to Godly principals for one's life. Looking through this lens gives us a great view of what God says about these issues regarding how society sees them verses how we should view them in today's world. When the world view we have collides' with the societal view of Christianity, it gets messy. This is where looking at things through the lens of time, we get a crystal-clear view of what God expects and wants.

    The Book of Jonah

Commentary of the contemporary Application and meaning Regarding the Prophet Johan and his insistence on running from a prejudice nature Towards the Ninevites. This should be something we all should be able to relate to and understand his point of view.

Jonah was a prophet who has issues regarding an assignment God has for him. Running form responsibility is something we see more and more of as time goes on. The lens of time allows for us to see certain things regarding life's issues in today's world. These issues are clouded as we see racism at the forefront of our news feeds. The world view of racism could not be further from the truth as God sees it. This is the best example of how God deals with this contentious issue and how we should handle it. Hate is hating, no matter who we hate and why. This whole book shows us how hate can derail our salvation and ruin us at the behest of another. This leads to disobedience and a grand scale and
