Dedication
Iwould like to dedicate this book to single mothers all across the world. Those women that struggled to get through life but made it despite the odds. As a single mother, I understand the sacrifice, heartache, and joy that come with motherhood. My beautiful daughter Rayonna was my inspiration for writing this book. She always encouraged me to go forth in achieving my goals, and I thank my baby for that. To every individual that has inspired and encouraged me throughout my life, I sincerely thank you. There were many that doubted me, but I’m thankful that you believed in me.
In the midst of writing this book, I reminisced on the good, bad, and ugly events from the past, but I can stand tall today and admit that they have indeed made me stronger. Be encouraged, ladies. Don’t read this book and make the same mistakes that I made. Learn from what I’ve gone through; it is not by coincidence that I have gone through these life circumstances. My message to women in general is to love yourself. Be what you cannot see. Whatever you want to achieve in life, go get it. Writing this book has been a dream of mine, and I am a believer that doors will continue to open for me. I’ve been through a lot, but I’m thankful that I don’t look like what I’ve been through. I am the mother of four beautiful kids, and I thank God every day for my bundles of joy. They brighten my life, and they keep me going.
My words of advice to ladies reading this book is to believe in yourself regardless of what haters have to say. Your circumstances do not limit your opportunities. Don’t let people put a label on you. Know your worth, and never think that your worth comes from a man. Don’t stop dreaming. You never know what God has in store for you. Be blessed!

Chapter 1
Hello, everyone! it’s your girl, Regina. This is my first time ever doing something like this, but this is the life of Regina Robinson. I want to go back to 1999 after I had my daughter. My auntie, Gloria said to me, Girl, let’s go to the store, let’s go to Madison Square.
I said, Damn, Madison? You know I don’t know how to drive.
She said, Girl, we can walk down to the store.
So we walked all the way down to Madison Square. Mind you, I lived on Adams Street, a couple of blocks away. We walked in Madison Square, shopping and walking around. I saw a cutie pie, but I knew he was much older than me.
Actually my auntie liked him; she had a crush on him, but I told her, Uh, Aunt Gloria, he is too young for you.
She said, Girl, I like’em young.
I didn’t think anything of it though. I walked by and he smiled at me; it was the way he looked at me though. He looked at me and his eyes . . . I don’t know. Ya’ll know how a man looks at you. I’m not talking about undressing me with his eyes because he didn’t do that. It was a look that said we are going to get to know each other one day. I could tell by the smile on his face that he was a nice person.
So Gloria and I continued shopping, then we left and went back to my house. She actually was the auntie of the man I was seeing at the time, but we hit it off and became cool. I was dating Gloria’s nephew and that man was so controlling. His name was Royce. Ooo, he was so controlling. I couldn’t do this, I couldn’t do that, and I couldn’t hang with Gloria.
