About this ebook

The world speaks what the mind thinks. Grace reveals and transforms. When the light shines, everything else disappears. The earth and heaven declare his glory. Only man can block him from his sight. What distinguishes man from all creation can be his downfall. The treasure is in everyone. Few choose to uncover, dissolve, and live it. God is love incarnated in the Christ. We are his incarnated flesh and blood to be shared with the hungry, thirsty, and weary. Who are we otherwise? What else are we here for? To be "him" is not a question. Not to be is not really an option. Death is not a choice. Every moment in your life is a constant reminder. Insights like these, quick, concise, and to the point, make up the bulk of this book. In the age of Facebook and text messaging, who has the time or stamina to wade through long scholarly treatises? They are shared to lead to the Spirit that dwells within everyone. Once the reader is there, it does the rest. One taste would lead to the road of no return. More questions than answers are provided, intended to wake readers up from ordinary thinking, and then lure them to go deeper into their souls. No systematic thesis is presented or intended nor a consistent approach followed, just glimmerings shining through the clouds of the mind. The words that may touch the soul are not mine. Mine are those that stand in the way. The rational mind perceives infinite versions of reality. Only through the spirit of God does love reveal itself. Words are just words. It is the Spirit through them that saves and transforms to the likeness of the Christ. Man has failed to work out his salvation. That is why he came. Salvation through his blood is done, completed, and at hand. Just let his hand lead. Too simple for the mind to believe? You need to trust like a child and follow like a lamb. This is the recurring theme of this book, explored from many directions. There is no other love worth living for.

    About the Author

    Author’s Introduction

The passages in this book are a record of my spiritual journey. The ones in the back represent intellectual explorations in my New Age stage. One passage after that called ‘Dream Four’ marks my transformation by grace through a dream, when my rational mind was not there to interfere. The passages that followed afterwards record my growth in Christ.

Before, I was a pile of flesh, bones, and a confused and lost mind, origins and reasons unknown. Life was breathed in by the Holy Spirit. Flashes of beauty, wisdom, art, and song made gracious visits. This is how the book had grown. What an honor that I have never deserved to have been chosen to be the hands that sowed the seeds.

All credit therefore goes to the Holy Spirit, whose messages came directly or indirectly through representatives, like Rev. Nader Shawki, David Lam’ai, and Adnan Sadduk, who kept on urging me to publish my Facebook postings in book form.

I am also indebted to writers like Eckhart Tolle and Rupert Spira, and many others, whose writings helped in expanding my mental horizons. I cannot forget also my friend, Mahmood Hamza, whose thought has influenced me through the years.

    No Spring without a Creek

Life is one everlasting cycle of receiving and giving. God is the spring from which everyone receives and then must give. That is the law. Not giving is cheating God and life. Inhaling without exhaling is death. To live, just let life breathe you. Resist at your own risk.

For the Living, Death Is a Myth

Life is the eternal breath of God. The universe is its fruit. So how can life be dependent on the body, matter, or nature? Who depends on the other, the tree or the fruits? The one who is scared of death then must be the ‘living’ dead. The risen Christ who dwells in us has already brought it to its final end. It remains a ‘reality’ only for those who choose to close their eyes and slumber in the past.

    Hold His Hand

All planets turn around themselves and the sun. All forms of life are rotating around an eternal unseen center. The rotation presumes its presence. In life there is no rest except in him at the center. Nor can anything be changed unless being there in his presence. The fallen can never raise themselves to his heights. That is why out of his love, God sent his Son to pull us back to his eternal embrace. His hand is always extended all the way down for you.

    Our Calling Is our Life

From the mother’s womb to the universal one we are delivered, where God breathes his eternal life. Our calling? Since God banished the devil from heaven to the world, as kings, priests, and sons, we are here to finish the job and extend his eternal kingdom here on earth. Not to fulfill your calling is to die.

    Know your Destination

We are here for a purpose. Life is the training ground with a curriculum. Lack of progression is regression. The absence of signs of progression means we are either pursuing a wrong destination or going in the wrong direction. God’s purpose for our life is to grow in wisdom and grace in order to extend his kingdom of peace, love, joy, and life. The absence of these is a warning signal. A correction of course is necessary. The map is the Word of God.

    Like a Child

To hear one needs an ear; eyes to see. Nothing is needed to be with God. Just be naked and empty like a child. You would be nursed and embraced. True liberation is from the self.

    The Best Lessons

In humility, it was Christ’s washing the feet of his disciples.

In mercy, it was the story of the woman accused of adultery.

In love, it is the cross.

    In life, the resurrection.

In education, be what you want to teach.

What a challenge for everyone who dares to open his mouth.

    The Futility

How can the mind that divided reality into good and evil and created the problem resolve it? For thousands of years he has tried and failed to resolve the enigma of evil. The road signs have been destruction, decay, and death. Unless he admits failure, change direction, and give up, the nightmare would have no end. Surrender to God is the only way out. He died to open it through the resurrection. You must die to yourself to live. In his presence there can be no evil.

    Eternal Life

Before Christ, long life was a blessing. In him is eternity.

    The One Answer

What is the source of the light? The essence of beauty or the reality of love? This domain is beyond the mind. Look within till the questioner disappears at the center. Where the Lord is eternally present, the question dissolves in the eternal answer.

    One Eternal Presence

To be in divine presence is to be truly present. How many presences are there anyway? How many times and places in eternity? Just sit empty and still, feeling your breath, the warmth of the sun, the sounds of nature, and the bliss of being alive in his presence. Here everything is done, complete and perfect. Being here, who is there to do or think? Here the universe walks your feet, through your eyes it explores its wonders and through your ears listens to hallelujah. The cross is the bridge that leads to heaven.

    Dreams

Is there anything other than him? Nothing but thoughts and dreams. He is the ground you stand on, the sky above, the eye, everything it sees or not see, and the air you breathe. He is fountain. Why dig wells in vain?

    The God of Love

Is there a lover without a beloved? Is there a spring without a river? Out of himself the universe eternally flows. It is with his love that we love him, with his glory we glorify him, and with his voice we sing and praise him. Who is this I that stands in the way? Out of it, where is the veil? The Father, the Son, and the family celebrate at the table of eternity. Love invites one and all.

    One Way

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Mathew 18:20).

Only as a lifeless abstract concept can love exist by itself. Real love always involves a lover and a beloved. Only then does love come to be. What is love if it does not bring the two poles together and incarnates amidst them? These are God and the universe. This is how fruits are produced and the universe came to be. It appears in infinite forms: the sun and earth; the air and birds; lover and beloved; father, mother, and a child. Without an object to reflect it, neither light can be seen nor warmth be felt. Love is the glue that makes all one. After all, how can the one not include all? Hence the creation; the Christ and his church. God exists for us through his Son and Holy Spirit. By, in, and for him we exist. Only through his Son can we be one.

Satan Is the King of This World

Satan must be working through man, for I have not seen any evil done except through him. Out of his divine mercy and love, God sent his Son to redeem us from our sins on the cross to rise with and in us to his glory. Yet he who incarnated peace, love, mercy, and hope for eternal life for all men was tortured and ruthlessly killed by no other than them. But he arose and death is crushed. His work is done and eternal victory is complete. He who is the way still knocks on your door. Believe, open, and let his Holy Spirit take over. Guided by him, you live, shine, and share the victory.

    Light and Its Reflections

Existence is you, me, and everything we see. The unseen without whom nothing can be seen or be is God, who shines his light, life, will, love, and goodness through his creations. We, one and all, are his incarnations to live his will, reflect his glories, to sing his Grace and praise his holy name.

    Is There a Point?

Everything comes and goes. The river of time rumbles along leaving no trace. Is there a point? The creation declares the Creator. The creation is to reflect and embody his infinite glories, He lives within to live, see, and enjoy his wonders through one and all. When the true self recognizes the Holy Spirit within, what it sees is a universal celebration of love, beauty, joy, and glory, singing and dancing hallelujah to the One. Thanks to his love he created all out of himself through his grace shared all.

    Shadows

Thoughts, feelings, and concepts are only shadows of the spirit. No matter how sublime, they remain impotent seeds. The ultimate gift that love gives is revelation of its living Spirit. By grace the seedling grows, with roots deep in the river of grace. The branches filter the light of God. Love always knocks on your door. When you listen and open, you would be flooded with his light.

    Worship

What is worship? We are made by, of, and for God. Glorifying his name and reflecting his glory is why we are alive, here and now. So worship is embracing and dissolving in his presence. The Christ in us connects with and glorifies the Father through the Holy Spirit. The three celebrate their oneness. Life is born. Is there a specific time or duration? Is there real time in his presence? What is time without worship, without presence, without life? Is there time in death? In that which does not exist? Life with God is timeless.

    Implicit Faith

People believe in the unseen because either the seen does not make sense, what they think makes sense does not work, or it eventually falls apart. Inherent in every living form is an eternal Voice that sings the glory of God. It is echoed by the sun, the earth, and the sky. Flowers, birds, and all living forms in response dance. Actually, every new birth reflects unconscious but implicit hope and faith in the love that sustains and embraces all. Otherwise, what is life without him? Otherwise, why are you still alive? Jesus extends his hand. It takes two to tango. What are you waiting for?

    What a Gift!

What is this life? Is it worth all this toil and strife? Then why is all this fighting to the very last breath to survive? Life is an absolute value; pure joy; divine. What else is there to look for? When one is, by grace, aware, one look at this marvelous universe, one moment or one breath is to touch the divine. One touch is to be in eternity with God. Life is a gold mine all around. What a gift to be awake and alive!

    The Key

What makes a father go with his child on a slide? A mother stay awake through the night next to her sick child? Someone leaves home and everybody he knows to go to an unknown place to serve strangers throughout his life? Or a deer ferociously attack a pack of hyenas to protect her young?

Selfishness is the fall from grace. Love is the key out of the self. What is faith but a relationship of love? Only in and through love can thy will be done be truly done. Around heaven, there can be no doors or walls. Love embraces all.

    No Walls or Doors

If heaven is God’s presence, how can there be walls and doors? How can love not be itself? Who are those who set up doors and stand at the entrances, allowing some in and keeping others out? Not the redeemer who rose to lift up the fallen who answer his call. By his grace heaven is always open to all. How else can the rain fall, the sun shine, or we kneel before the throne of God? The star-studded sky glitter in the dark of the night to remind those who forget that the sun is always there if we just turn around.

    The Center

Who keeps the plants, the earth, and everything turning forever around themselves and around the sun? What is it that makes the earth and the heaven ever celebrate? To know why, just imagine what would happen without the center. Is it then any wonder why they hold the hand? Who are ‘we,’ if any, without God?

    Fulfillment

Water goes through several stages in its life. Starting as snow on mountain tops, then melting and flowing down to the depth of the earth, gushing forth in springs, flowing and forming rivers, and finally and supposedly ending in the ocean. To end as a swamp is a tragedy. It would be a comedy if it loses its way. Reaching the ocean is its fulfillment. For man, it is reaching and living in God.

    The Cross

On the cross it has all been done, perfect, and complete. The veil is torn and the gate to heaven is open. Believing is crossing over. On the other side, the old is no more. The Holy Spirit takes over. Enjoy the infinite ride.

    Life or Death

Life is either growth or decay, an ascent or descent, life or death. Heaven is the Lord’s presence. Away from him is death. Christ is the bridge between the earth and heaven. To hold his extended hand is to touch the eternal glory.

    The Word

Science dissects a rabbit. The mind studies a carcass. The information is about death. The words are lifeless. A body without a soul is a corpse. Only the Word that comes through the Spirit brings life to the dead. To truly live, hold the hand that brought death to its final end. Listen to voice of the Spirit within. What is ‘life’ without the Spirit of God?

    No Return

How can the blind see, let alone believe in the unseen? It must be him who lives within who believes what he is. Only the light can see the light. The moment the light by grace shines, darkness is gone for good. It is the way with no return.

    To Believe Is to Be

In the Holy Communion, body and soul are transformed and the resurrected Christ by faith lives within. How can the newly born not believe him who lives within? When the sun shines, how can anyone believe in darkness that is no more in sight? To see is to believe. To believe is to be.

The Five Loaves and Two Fish

God is infinite and so are his creations. It is we who conceive limitations and experience scarcity. Everything we have is God’s. What is his is created out of love and in love must be shared. The infinite love then leaves no one hungry or thirsty. This is an attempt to explain the miracle in words. Jesus explained it by food that can be tasted. All his children are filled and fulfilled at his table. What is love if he does not share his abundance? The treasure is within. Not seeing it is poverty.

    Hope

All those who live on the dirt would end up below it, in a box. Invitation is open and free, but no one can refuse. Everything would vanish including the writer and reader of these words. However, every grain of sand has its moment in the sun. The one who radiates love, light, and life extends his hand to lift you up and waits for your response. This is his wish and will. Life is not designed for failure and death but success with the crown of eternal life. Just surrender and let he who lives within do according to his will.

    The True Home

To be alone, scared, lost and in pain, searching for home, whereabouts unknown, is a commonly experienced dream that expresses an archetypal theme of separation from home, felt at the core of our collective subconscious mind as a pain of a deep bleeding wound. The home, if found, is seen deserted, desolate, and in ruins.

Our life experience confirms our worst fears. Parents die. Spouses follow suit or leave. Friends scatter. Everything familiar—home, the city, streets, and buildings—change. Everybody finds himself a stranger among strangers. Your body falls apart. So does your mind with its cherished memories. Nothing remains and darkness shrouds all. Sad but inevitably true.

The one lost is you. The world is a dream. The only true home is God. His angels are the only true family. He is found only within. This is where and when the bleeding stops and the wounds are healed. In his presence, in peace, you sleep and wake up in bliss. The eternal search is over. The glory is all around.

    Above and Beyond

Not by logic does the eagle fly, the fish float, the living breathe, the heart beat, nor the giant towering tree stand. Children are born, flowers bloom, and countless planets around the sun turn, totally oblivious to it. Beyond logic is everything divine, life, love, joy, hope, beauty, music, worship, praise, and song. To enter here, logic must be made a sacrificial offering like incense, rising like holy smoke before the Lord, leaving what is not God’s as ashes below. Logic has its uses, but to crown it king is to see a miniscule part of the picture.

    The Climb

Towering countless intertwining narrow valleys stand the mountain. To climb from yours, they must be left behind, the minuscule self, the narrow surroundings, the silly concerns, the stagnant illusions, and the stench in the air. It is the Holy Spirit that guides the first step out and up. Then your feet start feeling lighter as though carried by the Spirit to higher grounds, fresher air, lush vegetation, brighter colors, and vaster panoramas. The higher you go, what is left behind appears dimmer and the climber become newer. The brighter the light, the less darkness, the stronger the pull upward. On top of the mountain, God sits on his throne. He is surrounded by his reflections.

    Only Light Outside

The universe is perfectly designed to keep us all well, alive, and aware of the glory of God all around. Mouth and fruits are designed for each other. So are oxygen, nose, and lungs. Growth, heartbeat, sleeping, waking up, and all vital functions are done with no effort on our side. Everything in the universe, from the planets’ rotation to the tiniest life cycle, is done. On the cross, the earth and heaven are reconciled. The heavens and the earth are at rest. To enter this rest and to be illumined by his light, just get out. Darkness is the self. Beyond it, there is nothing but light all around. Surrender before him in truth and spirit. Imagine yourself dead where everything disappears. Wait till life breathes you back into a new life in his presence.

    Divine Presence

In New Age spirituality, words like awareness, silence, and emptiness are cornerstones upon which its philosophy is built. They sound avant-garde, trendy, fashionable with a glow of sophistication that many find appealing. Experience and careful examination show their impotence. Awareness of what? is a question to be asked. Pursuing emptiness, silence, and stillness is a path ending where it starts. What is awareness if not of divine presence, emptiness content with itself, or silence that does not melt into celestial music? In divine presence, emptiness is filled and thirst is quenched. It is the answer for every question. Outside him is an infinite mental wilderness of illusions. God is the only one present. He exhales the universe, and back to him it is inhaled. He is the breath of life.

    Illusions

Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’ (John 11:25–26, ESV).

Can life and death coexist? Is there an end to life? Could the Creator of life contradict himself? There is nothing but God. He is eternal life. Nothing exists outside him. Fear is perceived separation. The latter is death. The sun knows no darkness. Life cannot fear what does not exist. The lost mind fabricates its own creations and asks hypothetical questions. Life is too busy celebrating the glory to answer.

    Smooth Sailing

Different restaurants, destinations, sights, appearances, thoughts, friends, acquisitions, experiences—this path means that the one who walks in it has not found. Searching means a state of not finding, for he who finds has no reason to search. He must have entered the land of rest. Here everything is ever new. So is every morning, sunrise, sunset, flower, song, worship, experience, or sight. Never the same self, thoughts, or words. In the river of grace, life is ever new. In divine presence there is no known but him. The knower, knowing, and the known are one.

    Music that Transports

Seemingly, there are two parts to fine music. One that is heard, written, taught, bought, or sold. The other is one that transports the soul to a place unseen by the eyes and unknown by the mind. The composer, as well as those who enjoy the music somehow, must have the key. The composition is the wrap that covers the gift he brings back to share. It is a choice to open, enter, submit, and leave everything that does not belong behind. Inside, music is just one box. There are many more, more than the eyes can see or the mind perceives. Faith is to believe what every cell in your body sings and what everything in the universe declares: the love, grace, and glory of God. The Holy Spirit within witnesses to him. Christ is the door.

    A Message Received and Shared

Life is not merely a question to be asked and debated but love and grace to be enjoyed, celebrated, sung, and shared.

    Who Are We?

God is love incarnated as the Christ. We are his incarnated flesh and blood to be shared with those who are hungry, thirsty, and weary. Who are we otherwise? Why else are we here for? To be that is not a question. Not to be is not really an option. Death is not a choice. Your very life is a constant reminder.

    Beyond Perception Is Grace

There are things that can be understood but never lived. The magic of love, the wonders of life, and the glories of God can be lived but never understood. So do not let the limits of your perception block the glories beyond. Enjoy what is given and thank the fountain of love within and beyond.

    The Gift

Everything is a gift. Life is a celebration. Faith is its key. The key is the gift that leads to the gift of gifts. Praised be his name.

    One Master

One master exists. We are all his servants. The water of life seeks the lowliest of places. Sitting on a high chair where we do not belong and expecting to be served is to fall. History is jammed with the fallen, but unless we step down we never learn. Those who serve him live forever.

    Vessels

We are empty vessels, not of clay but of thoughts. He creates the clay and lives as the treasure within. To claim what is not yours is to be a lie. To know and submit to him who lives in you is to truly live.

    The Staff and the Light

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). The way, the truth, and the life is the Christ. The Holy Spirit is my guide. Destination is God who is my divine inheritance as a son by grace in Christ. No questions asked or turning around with the Holy Spirit being the guide.

    Questions

What are the eyes for, but to see the glory? The soul, if not to sense and dissolve in his presence? The mind, if not to wake up to the truth? The mouth, if not to share the good news of redemption, salvation, and love? The hands, if not to translate his love into service? Who are we if not sons in Christ reflecting his light? See for yourself if any other answers make any sense.

    Recognition

You are in the world. The world is in you. There is a beyond, who contains one and all. The world speaks what the mind thinks. He reveals and grace transforms. When the light shines, everything else disappears. The earth and heaven declare his glory. Only man can block him from his sight. What distinguishes man from all creation can be his downfall. The treasure is in everyone. Few choose to uncover and enjoy the only value there is.

    A Divine System in Operation

If the chick were to think, it would never leave the known and familiar to the unknown. Nor would the fetus leave its heaven if thought were involved. What is the fall but the mind taking over the reign from the soul? However, salvation can never be worked out. That is why God, in his infinite love, sent his Son to redeem with his blood the world. It is all done, complete, and at hand. His hand is extended to lift you up. Yet this is too simple for the mind. To believe and trust what is beyond it, one must submit like a child and follow like a lamb. This is the path of the Spirit. He is the only one that takes home.

    The Now

Life is here and now. At best, the mind can think of what has just passed or was stored in memory before. Who can truly dance while thinking or enjoy food while talking? To truly live the only now there is, take in the fullness of life and taste the glory. Why think? About what? Who has the time?

    When

When grace dawns and the light fills the sky, everywhere is right here, time disappears in the now, nothing remains but the splendor met face to face, the knees bend and the hands are lifted up, life becomes devotion, a prayer, a river of pure delight. What else is heaven? Where else would one go? What else is left to do but dissolve in the Chris?

    A Wasteland

There is one God, one place, and one purpose. There are million others. Any time or effort spent on them is a waste. So is anytime not devoted to the first. To be bored is to be blind. To have time on your hands is to be blind to the glory of God. Life is a river; a ceaseless flow. Not to be involved, embracing, sharing, and serving is to be dead, lost in a wasteland.

    A River

As long as a river stays open and low, it receives. As it shares, the flow continues. Countless lives congregate around it. When it goes up and its flow gets blocked up, it becomes a swamp. The love of God works through the law of gravity. Those who are open, meek, and humble receive. Those who are full of themselves neither see nor receive. So nature abhors vacuum is also a spiritual law. So much we can learn from a speechless river.

    Inner Seeing

What is the universe but a manifestation of the glory of God? So seeing is the gift of gifts. Without it, how else can all what we are, see and enjoy be seen, let alone enjoyed? All the wonders of the universe are his reflections. The Son himself lives within. Through seeing, it is he who lives us and our life is celebrated in singing, dancing, and praise. Existence without the son is infinite darkness and the coldness of death.

    The Receiving End

There is one Creator and giver. We are all on the receiving end. What do we have that we did not receive? What do we have that we can claim credit for or brag about? A gift is even the knower and the knowing of this. No one can see the sun but just its reflections. What are these without it? Less than shadows peering in the dark. When the Son shines through the Spirit, someone dies and another is born. When all has been done and completed on the cross, life in the land of rest is eternal joy of worship and praise.

    The Eyes of Love

To see a majestic mountain above the clouds is awe inspiring. A beautiful scene at times brings life to the soul. But these are mere reflections. Beauty as it is is only revealed. A revelation is a serious business, involving death and birth. The newly born is love that sees God in everything.

    The God who Is Life

The dead asked God about death; he said that he is the God of life. In him there is no such thing. How would the light know darkness? It is a choice many make to close their eyes and miss the light all around. The sun warms their skin, breath tries to resuscitates them back to life, and everything in the universe call upon them, but still they prefer death. In the fullness of time, Christ came to wake up the dead. Life itself is knocking on your door. Just open your eyes and your heart for him to dwell within.

    A Choice

The eye is made for the seen, and the seen is made for the eye. But seeing is an act of choice. The eye can lead the horse to the water, but it cannot force him to drink. So many refuse to look beyond their noses. The universe is a symphony made for the ears, but few are those who listen to anything other than their own noises. From his throne came the Christ to take us back home with open arms. The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Few are those who answer the call. The others are busy in their caves.

    A Purpose

There is one life purpose, built in, inherent, and original, created by God. There are million others, programmed and added from outside. The first is fulfilled through submission to the Holy Spirit that dwells within. A hand leads you on a path of glory. An unseen power from above overcomes any resistance from below. It takes time, effort, violence, deception, and frustration to fulfill the others, yet success or failure in the end are the same: A mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes (James 4:14, EST).

    Free Will

What distinguished man from all creations led to his downfall from grace. Yet people still misuse the gift of gifts, and instead of choosing life they choose death. The eyes fail to see and the ears fail to hear. Again out of love, God sent his Son to restore him back to his glory in heaven. The Holy Spirit keeps knocking and the entire universe stands to witness, but man’s evil nature refuses to die to be born to life.

    A Prayer

How should I pray? Sitting, kneeling, or standing? Where and how long? Who separated prayer from life? Prayer is breaking out of the self to connect with what is beyond. Just extend a hand to touch someone outside: a smile, greeting, a visit to a patient, helping an old woman walk across the street, giving an advice when asked, just listening and lending an ear, or a talk with God. Only when out of yourself can you be with God. With him, you are in and connected with the whole. Anything you do according to
