I have always loved poetry books because you don’t have to read the whole thing to understand the story. You can allow your fingers to lead you to a page and everything you need to know in that moment rests on the paper. A table of contents never beats intuition.
These poems are about the light that emerges after the darkest night you have experienced. They are about transmitting your pain into something notable enough for God to reach down and kiss your cheek. It is kicking and screaming while pushing your hand into the skies to pull down an angel just so you can get through the afternoon. It is remembrance of your soul.
