Chapter One
Myles, where are you?
School, Mom. Chill.
What, why? Grad isn’t for 6 more hours.
I’m not done writing my speech. Wanted to be alone. Too busy at home. Grandma. Pop. Dad. Kate. Need some quiet.
You are at the library?
Bleachers. Wanted fresh air.
How are you writing the speech?
On my phone. Google doc.
I see. How’s it going?
It’s not.
You can do it, hon. You are the valedictorian!

Everyone? I doubt that.
Gemma’s going. If your girlfriend’s going, you have to go.
Who said Gemma was going?

You and me both! Gemma is making you go. Nate is making me go. We can sulk behind our dates together. It will be
