Paying attention and taking notes are necessary to read people. You must be able to decipher other people's verbal and nonverbal signs.
We all emit a lot of information through how we move and speak and our gestures and mannerisms. Not often do we mean or feel what we say. Think again if you believe that reading people is solely about having the ability to read minds and detect auras. Knowing other people's thoughts and mind reading is not as important. Being acutely alert is more important. It involves being aware of the appropriate body language at the appropriate time.
Using logic alone won't give you a complete picture of somebody.
