INTRODUCTION
What will heaven be like? Prophets and disciples, limited by their experience and knowledge, have tried to describe it. Those of us who have placed our future in God’s hands through faith in Jesus Christ know that heaven will be more wonderful than we could ever imagine. And, with grateful expectancy, we count on—cling to—the promise of a place where we will be forever with the Lord.
HEAVEN
A place we can really call home.
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands . . . We live live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 5:1,7-8
What will heaven be like,
whether I go there as a result of this
operation (a remote possibility),
or go there later (a certainty)?
Heaven will be my eternal
home with Christ. I’ll just move
into the part of his Father’s
house he prepared for me. No fixing up
that home, no parts unfinished,
no disappointments on moving day.
No, he’s prepared it, he’s made it
completely ready, completely
perfect, completely mine.
