    Acknowledgments

    Approximately eight days before Rachel died, I visited with her for two hours. Her battle with cancer began in 1991, and it was evident as we talked that summer day that her fight was nearing its end. She shared with me her faith and her fears. I listened in awe as I saw her faith in action. I was there to encourage her, but she encouraged me.

    Before I left her bedside, I felt led to ask her one last question: Rachel, what is it that God is saying and showing you at this time?

    She replied, First, God has shown me that the only thing that matters in life is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Second, I am a dying Christian woman. I know I am going to heaven, but I know almost nothing about it. We need to know about where we are going. We need to start teaching about heaven and looking forward to the place that will be our home for eternity.
