About this ebook
Why is this happening to our dogs when we have been doing "everything right"? We had been following the vet's advice for years at this point and showing little to no progress, we decided to seek out the answer ourselves. Through the last 8 years of researching and owning a pet food store focused on selling products with quality ingredients, we have helped hundreds of animals evolve into stronger, healthier pets.
With this book, you will learn more about how to create the best life for your animal starting with the most important factor: food. We break down the different types of food and which ingredients to avoid altogether. We have sprinkled in some of our favorite remedies to common ailments your dog or cat may experience and certain household items to avoid leaving around that may be dangerous to your animal.
Our hope is this book will be a tool for you to use when navigating your animal's health journey through the best and worst times. The knowledge we share is not unknown, but unmentioned, therefore not utilized by enough pet owners. We have seen firsthand, working with all types of breeds, how important implementing a sustainable diet & lifestyle is to keep a healthy, happy companion.

Dedication
I want to dedicate this guide to my mother, Lisa Payette, co-owner of Healthy Hounds Canine & Feline Nutrition, Inc. The knowledge I have acquired while owning the shop and the chance to help our customers for the past 8 years is because of her. After Lisa bought Healthy Hounds in 2014, she introduced me to the new business and asked if I would stay in Illinois for a few weeks to help her move in and set up shop. After a few weeks of meeting new people from the area and seeing the potential the business had, I decided to move from Florida to Illinois permanently to work with her. This new beginning led to the success that we have with the business and all of the success stories of our customers healing their animals through the appropriate nutrition guidelines we offered to them.
Thank you, Mom, for always believing in the business, the process, and me. I love you.
Your son,
Cameron Payette
Preface
Healthy Hounds knows you love your companion as much as we love ours. Healthy Hounds’ mission is to build nutrition awareness by providing the best products to support the health of your companions. Over the last 8 years of serving the local community and their pets, the staff at Healthy Hounds has learned that healing ailments naturally have the best results and the least negative side effects. The intention of this book is to guide you through the common mistakes of taking care of your pet and offer some basic advice to help nourish a healthy animal. Everything in this book is based on the real experiences of customers that Healthy Hounds has assisted throughout the years.
At Healthy Hounds, we try to emulate what the ancestors of our companions do in the wild, such as how or what they eat. We believe this is the animal’s ancestral birthright to be nourished how they would be in the animal kingdom. This book
