My Poetry Trip Through Cancer - Diane Parkhurst
Introduction
My name is Diane Parkhurst. I am a 56-year-old mother and wife. I have been married to my husband, David, for 32 years. We have two sons, David and Daniel, a daughter-in-law, Kayla, and a grandson, Hudson. In 2020, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Cancer. To say I was shocked is an understatement. During this journey, I ran a gamut of emotions from fear to depression. After a few days of bouncing all around, God started giving me poetry. I believe He was helping me deal with this devastating news through this poetry. I have always written poetry, but this was different. It was more cathartic than my other poetry had been. This is hard to explain, but some day it just poured out of my pen. It was almost as if God was dictating to me. A few times I would have something happen to me and I felt a strong urge to get to my pen and paper. I then began carrying pen and paper with me wherever I went, because God always made something exciting and good happen to me at the most unexpected moments. Even in my darkest moments, He was there! I hope this book conveys His amazing attributes to you. Most of all, I pray that it reveals to you what God wants to give you from My Poetry Trip Through Cancer!

My Poetry Trip
About midway through my journey, God gave me this poem. I thought it was the perfect title for the collection of poetry God inspired.
The Lord is with me; He is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.
