About this ebook

God - The End of the World
In a world of deceit about God, and particularly in anything related to end-times, there is truth. This book provides the truth about the end of the world. Of course, that would have little value unless it was consistent with the truth about life. The goal of this author is to help people achieve heaven. Basically, the truth about the end of the world only serves to support to encourage a person who either already has a relationship with God or is seeking the truth about life. The end of the world, in truth, can be very powerful as simultaneously, you are continually better understanding God.

The world can be "right down frustrating," and few realize the extent of lies within the world of religion. Indeed, there is considerable deceit in the many varied stories regarding the end of the world, but those same people mislead huge numbers of people to very bad ends. In all of the books by this author, there is an emphasis on better understanding God (as He has revealed Himself). In studying the end of the world, there are some great opportunities to gain some important perspectives into His nature. The big picture for God is His purpose in creation and how that flows from creation to the Last Day. We see what is behind the very magnificent new heaven and earth as well as the eternal punishment of those who fail. God is perfect in everything, and that includes love and justice. It is very difficult to understand these two extremes. Yet God has graciously revealed a great deal, and we can understand, and it will make sense. There is a lot more in this book than crushing the nonsense of the millennialists as the very straightforward Last Day is revealed. But there is an emphasis on making sure of your success by exposing the really big lies of religion. It is devastating to see all the harm followed by all the complacency of religion. The responsible party, nonetheless, will always be each individual based on making poor decisions. There is a no larger error in matters of truth than to misuse what has been provided to allow the success of each person. In relation to God's message to humankind, the warnings not to change God's word typically "falls on deaf ears." The root cause for all the division for all the false teachings in relation to God derive from a lack of seriousness in listening to God. Few believe God has perfectly delivered the message, so they treat it frivolously. Failure in life will most certainly follow.

    The Book Cover Explained

THE BOOK COVER REPRESENTS the judgments of God. There are more than four, but the ones indicated are typically the best known. God delivers harsh judgments against the distressing choices of humankind. The end of the world is the last judgment and the most severe because it is eternal. Of course, it is the largest since it involves all of humankind. The Last Day begins with Christ returning in the air and removing those in the body of Christ – His church. They will not be judged since their sins are covered. This final judgment ends with the sentence of each person being determined by the Judge, Jesus. The idea of the book cover is to gain a better understanding of God’s judgments. We begin with the flood, which as with all judgments, is associated with evil. Then the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and finally, the last judgment that has been completed, namely the destruction of Jerusalem. One judgment remains and completes God’s purpose by bringing an end to all things. What began as In the beginning, God now ends with the destruction of all those created material things. On this Last Day, each person will be transformed into some spiritual entity in preparation for an eternal existence. That existence will either be in the lake of fire or with God and the Lamb in a new heaven and new earth. God’s purpose will have been achieved, even if only in a few. Some will share in the Divine Nature.

Introduction, about this group of books, about the author

    Introduction

The end of the world is the subject of this book. The author’s purpose is to provide clarity for something that is indeed not difficult to understand – yet humankind’s handiwork has confused many. All the author's books have a singular focus on souls and their success. The End of the World holds a certain fascination for everyone, even the non-religious. Those of a religious bent have created doctrine very different from what the scriptures indicate. I can only describe the work of these people as wild imagining. Technically, it is carelessly handling the scriptures that have resulted in these doctrines. Amazingly, many people and groups have bought into these fanciful doctrines – and there are endless variations. It must be pointed out that there is nothing trivial about teaching inaccurately regarding God’s word. The teachers and those who follow errors will suffer a very bad end. The sad part is that this subject is easily understood – why all the inventiveness? Those following these End of the World doctrines invariably are consistently wrong on every Bible subject. They totally miss the essence of God’s message in relation to salvation. If there is a reason for this, it would be that they disrespect the word of God, and it shows in every subject they teach. We could say that Martin Luther and John Calvin, and the other well-known stalwarts of the Protestant reformation had the same disrespect for the word of God, the same carelessness. It is fair to say that everything Protestant is wrong, is in opposition to the scriptures, and thus in opposition to God. Protestantism is just the reforming of the Catholic Church, which required a great deal more than reforming since it was the absolute nemesis of God’s word. We have these prime religions of Christianity, with neither having anything right, which includes salvation and, of course, their views of the end times. This book exposes the end-time error of established Christianity and, in the process, allows a person to consider what else is wrong with their most fundamental beliefs.

When we talk about the judgments of God, there is one that has the least familiarity with people, and it is the destruction of Jerusalem. Jesus and the apostles, who had left the temple, when Jesus said, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down. The apostles then came to Jesus, asking, Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age? Jesus proceeds to reveal a great deal about the destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the world (Matthew 24 and Matthew 25). Jesus addresses the questions from the apostles, beginning with the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. Below is a famous painting that depicts the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. Josephus’s eye-witness account in 70 A.D. is attached as Chapter 20, and it can overwhelm in its graphic description.

David Roberts' 'The Siege and Destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans Under the Command of Titus, A.D. 70' - David Roberts (1796–1864), c. 1850 CE

The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD plays a very important part in understanding the misunderstanding about the end of the world. This is because Matthew 24 through verse 35 refers to the destruction of Jerusalem that occurred in 70 AD and is not associated with the end of the world. Questions regarding the end of the world, such as, Is there a defined end of the world when is the end of the world and what happens when Jesus returns or what about the day of judgment will be answered in a convincing way consistent with all scripture.

The book cover depicts the significant and typically well-known judgments of God. This fundamental awareness of judgments can clarify God, life, and the remaining judgment called the End of the World. These are key events from God’s viewpoint as opposed to thinking about how humankind views serious but temporal historical events. Such things as world wars, famines, natural disasters, and so on. These judgments are from God, and each can be understood from the scriptures. We might say that these events put a stake in the ground in defining judgments from God. The common aspects of these judgments are the severity, the utter destruction of nearly all the people involved, a similar reason for the judgments, and they are always associated with the wrath of God. The oval figure at the bottom of the book cover depicts the Beginning and the End – God creating and God destroying. It was the best of beginnings and, for so many, will be the worst of endings. Although it is the worst of endings for most of those created in His image, from God’s standpoint, His purpose will be fulfilled, albeit in a FEW. The physical time world created for humankind’s test goes to oblivion on the Last Day. Although the end of the world is an interesting topic for humankind, one should quickly see past those things destroyed and consider once again that life is indeed about the soul. It is important that you see life in those terms now while you are alive.

About author books (in this group)

The five books in this group consist of:

Book one: God – Essentials for Sharing in the Divine Nature

Book two: God – Catholic Audacity - The origin of the Catholic Church and the loss of the gospel message

Book three: God - Life is About the Soul

Book four: God - God is the Perfect Absence of Evil

Book five: God - The End of the World

    About the author

This group of five books all begins with the word God in the title. Much of the world, including those of religion, doubts God in various ways. At one end of the spectrum are those who doubt His existence, and the other end has those who are certain of God’s existence and that He is the God of the Bible and live accordingly. In the vast middle are people who believe in God’s existence but imagine many different things about His interactions with humankind. I often point out that my goal is to help people be successful in life, which results in achieving God’s purpose for them. I have never stated another motive that drives my writing because I would not know how to express it. However, I will try. It is my belief that it is easy to understand what I write because God made it easy to be truthful, and I am trying to be a good scribe. If you can appreciate God’s word even if it is personally difficult for you, then you can understand and live God’s word and be successful. You can do a much better job than I have done and help many others. Thus, my motive is not only to encourage people by providing the truth but help people realize their capability needs to be realized and then implement it in service to God. In other words, look at this author and say this is helpful, but I could do much better, and I need to. I must do all I can for the cause of Christ. I would feel quite successful if people would take God’s word seriously to the point of living for Christ and the gospel. There is another motivator, and it is hard to accept. Knowledge of the truth can be overwhelming in a world that lives in opposition to God. Every person will face indescribable terror at their end unless they can align with their Creator. God has made success very simple. Unfortunately, humankind has brought complications to simplicity. The deceit is pathetic and typically in the form of religion. People become satisfied with the lies and believe all is well. There is only one way to overcome the deceit, and that is to have a love of the truth.

Chapter 1 Preparation for the truth about the end of the world

1.1 Simplicity – the end of the world – everyone ought to understand it the same

There is nothing complicated about the end of the world. God wanted people to know there was an end, just like He wanted them to know that the fear of the Lord and keeping His commandments were especially important. God’s focus on achieving His purpose is everywhere throughout the scriptures. Although, for some, God’s message is unpleasant such as failed lives that end in punishment, nonetheless, the truth is a most powerful motivator. God wants you to succeed.

    1.2 Basics for understanding

There are some basics needed to understand the scriptures. In our case, to understand the end of the world. These include a reasonable familiarity with the Bible. An awareness that many different doctrines are taught that deceitfully claim the Bible supports their teachings. You cannot reach THE TRUTH unless you have a strong desire to do so and will accept nothing less than the truth. This is a requirement from God, as we can see in 2 Thessalonians.

    2 Thessalonians 2:10

10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

If one walks into the Bible thinking some small amount of time will be sufficient to reach the key points, to get the truth, you will not succeed. Many people fail because they find some mentor, perhaps a charismatic person with a reputation, and of course, if they are babes in the scriptures, they very well might believe what is taught. We have a world of people with little true knowledge of the scriptures, spending just enough time to get by. However, they would be better off taking up some worldly hobby. God will achieve His goal with people who are serious about the truth and willing to live their lives quite differently. The truth makes sense, and you will never regret finding it and never look elsewhere because the truth is overwhelming. We are studying the end of the world, and it is very dramatic and easily understood, albeit quite amazing. The only difficult thing regarding the end times will be all the imposters who bring truly bizarre teachings without any credibility and yet are believed. In this book, you will get the truth about the end of the world, yet we emphasize that it is not all that important. The realization that there is an end to all this that we call life and that you will continue to exist is important. God uses various literary styles throughout the scriptures. There is a bit more of that in the study of the end times in the description of God’s judgments, and we will explain those styles and why they are used.

1.3 Life is not about this life

That is a way of saying there is much more to life than there appears to be. The correct way to categorize life is by saying, Life is about the soul. At the end of the world, before the final judgment, you will be transformed. That will be discussed briefly in Chapter 6. This is mentioned because the Last Day will be the first time God reveals His power, His majesty, simultaneously to all of humankind. It will be a busy day, a wonderful day, a frightful day, and God has graciously revealed the day in a way to encourage you to do the right things in your life. Surely everyone will follow God’s directives. One thing God has revealed is that FEW will succeed. Each person has a life portfolio of stuff stored in their minds but frequently missing is a knowledge of the end times. That is the events leading to or occurring on the Last Day. God has graciously left us with all we need to know but not necessarily all we would like to know. Without any page-turning, there are three things you should and likely already know, and they are: 1) there is an end to the world, 2) you will continue to exist after the end, and 3) life is very short.

There are very few things, if any, where all people agree – say have 99% agreement. Yet there is one thing where there is a high level of agreement. It is depicted in the visual below:

God has done all that is possible to let you know the answer to WHAT NEXT. Admittedly, many will tell you something different, and ultimately you will choose who to believe. If you work very hard to get the answer without prejudice, you could be said to have a love of the truth. This book will help you make the right choices. We suggest you believe what makes sense, is logical, fits all of life perfectly together, and be certain you understand what you believe. Again, this book can help you make the right choices.

Chapter 2 The literary styles used by God

2.1 Why does God use different literary styles

Actually, for God, they are not literary styles but God’s chosen means to deliver a message. They happen to roughly fit some of the known styles used in writing. God wanted to make a point, and in His perfection, the styles used fit His requirement. We will see in many cases, God provided partial information on a subject, and this was facilitated by the style. In some cases, the message was designed to appeal to those with certain characteristics but be hidden to others. In this process, He never compromised a person’s free will or His impartiality while simultaneously enabling His work of sorting good from evil.

2.2 Regardless of the literary style, we need to understand God’s meaning

Before we deep-dive into discerning the end of the world, let us gain an appreciation of God’s use of language. Although the specific topic of this chapter is literary styles, we will, in addition, talk about context, word meanings, parables, metaphors, and partial revelations. God has precisely designed His word to accomplish His purpose and necessarily contains these various forms of speech consistent with achieving His purpose. Regardless of the category of speech or writing, the goal is always to understand God’s very singular meaning . Many people want to make the word of God fit their ideas of life, death, and God, essentially fit their purpose or what they think must be or should be God’s purpose. Throughout this book, it is emphasized that it is important to understand God’s purpose. It is easy to stumble if you have the wrong attitude when entering the word of God. Simply said, those of pride stumble while those with good hearts find the truth. If, for instance, you are looking for a way to justify your actions using the Bible, you will find a way. If you are looking to justify your religious doctrine, you will find a way. If you are seeking the truth with sincerity, dedication, and humility, you will find the truth. Let me give you a very simple but very powerful example of those who cling to the modern doctrine of mentally accepting Jesus as Savior for salvation. This doctrine has been taught since the time of Martin Luther and people deeply, unequivocally believe it is true. Of course, the supporters of the doctrine find verses to convince others of their beliefs. They look to verses like John 3:16 and Acts 16:31.

    John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

    Acts 16:31

31 So they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.

Note: It should be said that Martin Luther and others of the Reformation would use the terminology of Faith Only. Over the centuries, that has evolved to believe in Jesus as God’s Son for salvation or, more recently, accept or believe in Jesus as your personal Savior.

These verses have satisfied generations of Protestants, and they complete their lives having been blindly led by the blind with both falling into the pit. A love of the truth is more important than a love of those who taught you and who have promoted some attractive belief over a long history, perhaps garnering some fame. You can go to many places on this author’s websites and find books to understand the truth regarding salvation. In the book Life is about the soul there is a chapter titled What it means to believe. Of course, the recommended place to go is to the scriptures with other materials (such as this book), helping offset post-first-century erroneous doctrines. Other such materials can only help if they are consistent with the word of God.

For your consideration, I will provide a very short and simple explanation of the tragic error of mentally accepting Jesus for salvation. The problem is assuming that believe means to mentally accept Jesus and you are saved. Here is where pride takes over, and you wrongly think you are guided by the word of God. The pride is in your confidence regarding WHO taught you to mentally believe for salvation instead of trusting God’s word. Now in your effective indoctrination, you close your mind to anything different than what you have been taught. You may even claim a special feeling when you were saved, and YOU ARE SO SURE. I would suggest you will find certainty in what God delivered as truth, and if you love God, you will do ALL He requires in relation to salvation and do it for the reason provided. If someone taught you that believe includes obedience to the one you believe in, that is, Jesus, that would be correct. Otherwise, your belief would be artificial and unacceptable. If you had studied scriptures every day to determine the part obedience plays, you would have found evidence of that everywhere. Repeatedly you see that God expects obedience from those who indicate they love Him. There is a great deal of material in the five books in this group that will help you understand salvation. But all you need to do is to read the scriptures with a love of the truth. See Conversions of the New Testament, which is also in the book Life is about the soul. We are dealing with God, and in His perfection, we can expect the message to be very clear. However, those who seek to satisfy what they already believe cannot be fair in assessing anything different regardless of its validity.

What is the real problem with trusting John 3:16? This verse is taken out of the context of the entirety of scripture. In consideration of all Bible verses, what is taught regarding salvation? Although John 3:16 fits into the pattern of salvation, it is only a high-level and true component of salvation. Jesus is pointing to the importance of believing in Him for salvation. Is there more required? Yes, but it could not be revealed at the time Jesus spoke John 3:16. It was first necessary that Jesus accomplish His mission. God’s word is very timely, and certain milestones need to be achieved before some revelations can be considered complete. John 3:16 is true if you understand BELIEVE is more than a mental acceptance. It includes a dedication to the one believed such that you will do what He says and, in this case, what is required for salvation. Also, John 3:16 does not define salvation. One might think that salvation means being saved from something. That would be right, and in fact, a person with reasonable knowledge of the scriptures might think that salvation means being saved from the penalty of sin. As it turns out, that would be a good and accurate scriptural assumption. Now, do the revelations post-Jesus completing His mission reveal more about salvation? Does the word of God reveal more about forgiveness of sins? Yes, and those things provide the obedience required indicating what people must do to receive forgiveness of sins. Indeed, in the examples provided in the scriptures, we see what people did to receive forgiveness of sins. God is very consistent in how He gradually reveals the truth. Taking the words of John 3:16 as all that is required for salvation is inconsistent with scripture. The only way we correctly understand things outside our realm is if they are revealed. John 3:16 is on a gradual path of revelation leading to full disclosure on the subject of salvation. The final revelation regarding salvation comes in Acts 2. In every case, when there is a partial revelation from God, there will be people who invent the remainder of the revelation based only on the initial partial revelation even after God has completed the revelation.

Note: Partial revelations are true but incomplete in terms of the understanding needed to get the correct meaning. Of course, they are purposely incomplete for various reasons, and in this case, because the work of Jesus was incomplete. Nonetheless, Jesus’ use of John 3:16 is building momentum toward what will be the complete, detailed revelation regarding salvation.

One more thought on this believe only, faith only doctrine that is quite devastating. In addition to this doctrine not providing the sought-after salvation, it can shut down the needed enthusiasm and the needed dedication to doing the many things God requires. There is no assurance of success even for those that obey the gospel since God has high expectations for those in His body. God has left the message that saves in the hands of those in Christ. The characteristics of those in Christ needs to be in keeping with God’s requirements, such as the fruit of the Spirit. Imagining you are saved one time forever can create a very casual attitude in relation to the remainder of God’s message. Yet, in truth, you should not think you can live differently than God directs and succeed in life.

    Galatians 5:22-25

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

The bottom line from God in this matter of succeeding in life points to the seriousness of living your life for Christ and the gospel. These faith only believers, not being in the body of Christ and thinking their salvation is guaranteed, are exceedingly far from God, exceedingly far from salvation. Then to add insult to injury, they are often taught some end time myths that could allow a second chance. Yes, the corruption of God’s word is devastating for souls.

So, why are we discussing John 3:16 in a chapter devoted to literary styles? All the language forms of the Bible require the deepest respect – they are from God. Regardless of the type of language, there needs to be seriousness in coming to the correct understanding. There is nothing peculiar in the John 3:16 verse, yet few understand the correct meaning. Thus, the root cause problem in understanding God is something more fundamental than the literary style. There are many potential causes, such as a dislike for the rules of God, the antagonism over the God of the Bible in terms of fear and punishment, or the fact that in pride, you have settled on your beliefs often associated with family or some friend or charismatic teacher. There are
