About this ebook

Piper and Kylie will make you laugh out loud with their Sister Shenanigans. They have new skis and want to try them out at Grandma's house. Of course, Mama wants them to wait until they have a few lessons, but they are sure they know what to do. After all, they have watched people ski on TV during the Olympics.

It's a slumber party at Grandma's. "Okay, steady as she goes, Sissy," laughs Kylie.

"

"Steady as she goes? What? Where did you hear that?"

"I don't know. It's unique!"

"You are certainly unique," Piper laughs.

Kylie, you best get all your giggles out before you put the rooftop on," smiles Grandma.

"Yes ma'am. After all, it takes a lot of concentration to get it just right."

Piper and Kylie create fun in everything they do. What? A make-up session with icing? You have to read to believe!

The reader will want to read Piper and Kylie again and again. The series is based on the author's childhood memories with her sister.

Fisher does an outstanding job at intertwining life lessons, respect, and love throughout the book. She brings you into the story with exceptional dialogue. The reader will feel like they are making cookies, decorating, sharing stories, feeling the cool air on their face, smelling the pine trees, and so much more.

This is the second book in the Sister Shenanigan Series. Check out book one, Apple Batter-Up. No, it's not a cookbook. Instead, the girls create a game called "Whack-the-Apple."

Fisher does a superior job at weaving life lessons, respect, and love. Her stories read with as much action, humor and intrigue as an adult book. The impressive dialogue hooks you on the first page!

    DEDICATION

Thank you to my sister Cindy

    for all the memories.

When I was eight and Cindy six,

we received new skis for Christmas.

The following day, we excitedly sang our way

    toward our adventure.

    As we crested the hill,

we spotted a small hole in the snow.

Within seconds, a tiny field mouse popped out.

    We screamed. It ran.

    Then... juggling our skis,

we screamed all the way home.

We told Mommy about the mouse

    and how scared we were.

She said, It won’t hurt you.

Ha. Easy for her to say.

    It was the first time

we ever saw a real – live - mouse!

    After soup and sandwiches,

we played a game of Candyland.

Skiing would wait for another day.

    I’ve intertwined holiday stories

    And embellished some too.

Thank you Cindy for all the laughter

    and creative shenanigans.

You are still a HOOT! XO

    CHAPTER ONE

    Grandma Look

    ––––––––

    SLAM!

We hear the door behind us as we run into the house. Grandma. Grandma.

In here girls, Grandma says from the dining room.

We run in and jolt to a stop; right in front of her rocking chair. Look at what we have! Waving them in front of her, we beam, Aren’t they bee-au-tee-ful?

Be careful girls. You don’t want to accidentally hit Grandma.

(Illustration on the next page shows Piper and Kylie wear jackets with white fur around the hood, mittens, snow pants that are tucked into their white snow boots with white fur trim. Kylie wears a a pink jacket and Piper purple. With big smiles, they proudly hold their red skis.)

Grandma leans way back in her chair. Oh my yes, they are beautiful skis. Why don’t you put them in the mud room with your coats and boots. Then everything will be together.

That’s a great idea, says Piper. "C’mon Kylie.

    ––––––––

Race ya!" We took off toward the kitchen.

    No running, calls Momma.

I opened my eyes wide and frowned over at Piper. Oops. We slowed our pace and giggled. We are not disrespecting Momma. We just like to giggle.

We carefully stand our skis and poles in the corner by the back door. There. I can’t wait to try them out. I stuff my mittens into the sleeve of my new coat so I will know right where they are. Piper and I hang our coats on the hooks behind the bench, then sit to rove our boots. We both have new white snow boots with a furry white lining. They keep our feet toasty when we are tromping around in the cold wet snow.

Half-way back to the dining room. Piper says, Oh, we forgot to show Grandma our new coats and boots.

Momma must have heard us. Wait until later. Then you can have a fashion show for Grandma and show her all your new things

That's a super idea, agrees Piper.

I suggested that they wait until they take skiing lessons before venturing out on their own, but you know our girls. They want to go skiing today.

    Yes I do, Grandma laughs.

I thought the hill in your backyard would be safe enough, since it’s not a steep slope, Momma continues.

Grandma smiles as we enter the dining room. I will keep an eye on them when they are outside. Best to let them see what they can do... or not.

See you both tomorrow. Be safe on those skis, Momma reminds us. Stay out of mischief.

Who? Us! we say in shocked amazement with our hands over our hearts.

We all break into laughter and Momma shakes her head. See you tomorrow girls.

We blow her kisses and say, Bye Love you.

    ***

Well girls, we best be starting our cookies, Grandma says with a clap.

    Yippee! We yell
