Jada - Carolyn Tyus
Dedication
This book is dedicated to the memory of our wonderful daughter, Jada. She brought us so much joy, peace, and pride sometimes just by simply being our child. She was in fact a blessing from God, and the love we have for her has grown even more since she left us.
We asked God for a child, and He gave us an angel. Throughout her life we stood in awe as we admired her strength, determination, and perseverance. She was simply amazing to know. For those reading who had the pleasure of knowing our sweet Jada, may you bask in the memories you will find in this memoir. For those of you who were not personally acquainted with her, may you experience the joy of knowing her now, and being inspired by who she was.
Many Blessings,
Carolyn and Patrick

s I read this book, Jada was speaking directly to me. Her story included some comical moments, but she also revealed the scary and painful times as well. Because I knew Jada, in spite of what she experienced, she always showed that beautiful smile, living her best life. This is what I loved about her most.
We will never know the magnitude of Jada’s pain, but we can all agree that she touched our lives, and provided us with loving and teachable moments. The phrase God give His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers
can sometimes seem a bit cliché, but I believe it is needed for some of us to overcome obstacles. These battles are not for us to fight, but for us to prepare for the next chapter of our lives.
Throughout this book, we are shown how to strengthen our minds and persevere through every challenge. Jada did this no matter what she was faced with. God was preparing her for The Final Fairytale.
I have no doubt that Jada desired healing, and she fought until the end, once again teaching us to keep going no matter what. We must live each moment in happiness, not in fear or pain, and to live in misery, is just existing.
I am sure that Jada was unsure all the time about her next move, but she continued to live and leave us with great memories. Jada is still inspiring us, and I thank God for the opportunity to know her. Her life inspires me to endure obstacles today. She is my warrior, and my SHERO.

F
or years after the loss of our daughter Jada, we tossed around the idea of writing a book. Many advised us that we should, but finding the time, and correct path to take on the endeavor was a beast of its own. We wanted to share Jada’s story with the world, only the way she would have told it. We wanted you to get to know her, understand her, and be inspired by her.
It is our hope that through reading Jada’s story you will be able to face the many challenges in life head on, adapt to them, and overcome them. We desire to motivate you and remind you that no matter where you are in life, you can get up. Always trust God and know that you are able.
As you read, remember Jada was happy and her greatest joy was to make others laugh. She always made the best out of any situation and she carried with her Proverbs 27:17, Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens the face his neighbor.
Take this scripture with you on your journey through these pages, and we pray each word blesses your soul.
Thank You

opflight, and in the mid-90’s in Montgomery, Alabama that was the place to be. If you know my mom then you know she is game for a good time, so I can imagine she was in there turning up as we would say, but I am not sure what they would call it. I can imagine she had on some nice dress with her petite frame grooving on the dance floor. I know people were checking for her, but that night only one man would catch her eye: my dad. I can imagine he was all built with that charming smile of his. He was a well-established Navy man, so why wouldn’t my mother be interested, right? Little did they know, in that moment, they were about to make history.
Now, before we get too deep into this magical night at Topflight, let me tell you a little bit about my parents. My mom was born in historic Selma, Alabama and lived there for some of her childhood. Her family later moved to Montgomery, and she had been there her whole life. My dad was
