Getting Started

Welcome to Divided We Stand. Disagreement can be uncomfortable and awkward for many of us. It can lead to hard conversations, to avoiding certain topics, and sometimes to ending a relationship all together. Many of these disagreements have led to division in the world and in the church. Jesus modeled what it looks like to love people with whom we disagree. As his followers, we are uniquely equipped to do the same. This study is designed to help you wade into the messiness of disagreement and unveil Christ’s love and unity in a divided world.

You can find all the session videos and additional resources at trueface.org/DWSstudy. Simply sign up for a free account and choose the Divided We Stand course. Here you’ll find the trailer for this course, which we recommend watching as a group to prepare for the study, the videos for each week’s discussion, and short introductions to each of the participants.

Divided We Stand is structured similarly to other Trueface studies, which means that within each meeting you will go through three sections:

Connect: Spend time connecting with each other in order to deepen relationships.

Learn: Use content to grow spiritually.

Live: Discuss and apply what you learned to your here-and-now lives so that you can live out and experience these truths.

How to Facilitate: We have provided recommended time frames to help you stay on track in your meetings. These time frames reference a sixty- or ninety-minute group meeting.
