For the intermediate to advanced pianist and piano teacher, this book is a treasure trove. It not only deals with pedaling (Rachmaninoff called the right pedal "the soul of the piano"), but it has a host of performance ideas for the works of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt (yecch!), Ravel, Debussy, and other composers of virtuoso piano music. A friend and fellow teacher recommended this book to me. It has earned its purchase price a hundred times over, and occupies a special place next to my piano! I can't recommend it with enough enthusiasm.
