About this ebook

A life walking with God is the most fulfilled life. In an inspirational guide tailored for both new and seasoned Christians, Joye Angel shares wisdom that helps believers dive deeper into who God is and what He has done for each of us, and then reap the benefits of a closer walk with Him.

Angel not only shares personal stories of her own walk of faith inspired by biblical passages, but also simple guidance to grow in grace with the Lord. As she leads Christians down a path to establish and develop their relationships with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, Angel introduces the heroes of faith and illustrates the correlation between how they lived their lives and our lives today. While inspiring believers to take small steps toward a stronger, more fulfilled relationship with God, Angel offers practical suggestions that encourage an acceptance of salvation, an enthusiastic study of the Bible, a baptism that announces faith to the world, the establishment of a consistent prayer practice, and more.

From Salvation to Service is an inspirational guide that shares personal stories of faith and biblical wisdom to help Christians establish and grow their relationships with God.

    INTRODUCTION

Breathe it in. Today is a new day. It is the first day of the best part of your life. You have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Welcome to the family!

I am sure you have lots of questions and would like a little guidance on what comes next.

Well, you have stopped at the right book! I have been where you are, and my prayer is that this book will help fill in the gaps. This is not an all-inclusive list for a life with God, but it will give you a starting point.

Now, let us start walking through life with the Lord. If you have never experienced salvation, my prayer is that you will not put it off another second. Let today be your day to start a life with God! Salvation is a gift that is offered freely to all. Salvation involves repentance, which is the turning away from sin. Every person is given the measure of faith for salvation, faith to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives.

There is no salvation apart from a personal faith in Jesus Christ.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9–10).

Are you ready to accept the gift of eternal life that Jesus is offering you right now? If it is your sincere desire to receive Jesus into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior, then talk to God from your heart.

There is no perfect prayer of salvation. It is just admitting that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, believing in your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and that God raised Him from the dead, and confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life.

You now have a friend, a confidant, a heavenly Father to stand by your side from this moment forward. One who desires a relationship with you. One who wants the best for your life. One who has a plan, a journey ready just for you.

Join us on this journey! A life walking with God is the most fulfilled life.

    WHO IS GOD?

Life is possible because of the Creator of the universe. He is God. Let me offer you the biblical explanation of who God is. (At the end of this explanation I will list the scriptures in the Bible where you can search these for yourself.)

He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Everything that has ever been and ever will be is because of Him. He is the Creator of the world. He spoke the world into existence. He is love. He is forgiveness. He is grace. He is the godhead of the Trinity. The Trinity is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each has a role in the life of a Christian. He knitted every person in the world together in the womb. He knew you before you knew yourself. He created you for a purpose. He draws you for salvation. He sent His Son to die on the cross to be the substitute for everyone so that we all would have a way to spend eternity in heaven with Him. He made the law. He gave Moses the Ten Commandments. He foreknew that we could not keep the law, so He extended grace through salvation.

He freely gives the Holy Spirit to all who accept salvation. Through the Holy Spirit, we gain the third person of the Trinity. We have access to everything; it is up to us how much we use it. He gives forgiveness to all who seek it with a humble heart. He sees your actions, and He knows your heart. He is omnipresent (everywhere at the same time), omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful), and omnibenevolent (all-loving). He walks with every believer who allows Him to and guides their lives.

He has a plan for your life. He knows you personally. He gives gifts and talents to every person. He gives people free will. He longs to have a relationship with you. God made us to have a relationship with Him. You have an emptiness inside you that is filled when you accept salvation. As you grow your relationship with Him, your life is filled to overflowing.

And He said to me, ‘It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts’ (Revelation 21:6).

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made (John 1:3).

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5).

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:44).

"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes
