The free market is an institution that encourages human cooperation for the benefit of society as a whole. It is why, in a free-market economy, even the poorest people can live a decent life because they do not have to rely on their own efforts alone.

The free market is capable of providing products and services that might have originally only been affordable to the wealthy so cheaply that just about anyone can afford and enjoy them.

The fact is, it would be impossible for you and any 20 or so of your friends to make a simple pizza from scratch. The division of labor is the glue that holds human civilization together.

The division of labor is the key to the free market. It is the basis of capitalism, and it allows the most unfit to live a decent life while striving to ascend to a fitter or even the fittest category through education, training, on-the-job experience, entrepreneurship, and perseverance.

The pursuit of self-love or self-interest is not always a good thing, but it can only be successful if you offer your fellow man something he wants and values: give me that which I want, and you shall have this which you want. Free-market exchange is always mutually beneficial.

The free market, in contrast, rewards products and services that please consumers with profits, while punishing those that don’t with losses and bankruptcies. Government, on the other hand, always needs more taxpayer dollars.
