Fae Wars Battle for Nenagh Realm
()
About this ebook
The smile vanished from my face as a dark ominous cloud crossed my peripheral vision threatening to ruin what had promised to be a sunny relaxing day in our new home on Nenagh Realm high above Ireland.
I was so naive years ago when as a human child I made that fateful wish, to become a fairy. I was young and didn’t realize the magnitude of what I was about to bring down upon not only myself but all those who loved and cared for me.
I thought all Fae were pure of heart, loving, and friendly, but I was wrong. Enter the Dark Fae known to be both ruthless and heartless. They have no honor; they kill and take what they want.
However, they underestimate the power of my fae family. Let them come, we are ready to battle, to fight for what is ours. We will not be defeated. This is the battle for Nenagh Realm.

I was that book geek hanging out at the library every Saturday. I stepped through those doors into a magical world where I could be anyone, do anything I wished. It's no surprise this led to a successful writing career in multiple genres. I reside with my husband Chris and two fur babies, Max & Maisie. I still stand firm in the belief that Fairies do exist. I am constantly chasing those lights! www.leaverealitybehind.com https://books2read.com/ap/8PMdok/Sherry-Hutchison https://www.amazon.com/Sherry-Hutchison/e/B01M28PHJR https://www.bookbub.com/authors/sherry-hutchison www.facebook.com/authorsherryhutchison www.Pinterest.com/sherrylhutchison www.instagram.com/authorsherryhutchison

Prologue
We swayed and rocked with the gentle laps of water against the boat. I smiled as I watched Johnny carefully bait his handmade fishing pole, with a big fat worm. The baiting part disgusted me secretly, but the fact that we would all have fresh fish for supper, brought a smile to my face.
We’d all made it safely through the portal that brought us to our new home a mere two months ago. Nenagh Realm was an uninhabited, three-hundred-mile island. If you were on earth this would be above Ireland. My smile widened as the sun shone high in the sky.
Johnny and I were still dealing with the idea of our human mom’s memories of us being erased. Thanks to Fia and a little fairy dust; they’d both started new lives; in fact, both should be having their babies soon. The babies that would be named Chelsea and Johnny. Our namesakes who would be reincarnated. It was still a lot to take in.
Fia had broken so many rules for me, then Johnny, to transform us to fae. Johnny had to actually die as a human in order to become a fae. It was a huge risk, but alas, that is a story for another time.
I’d made my own calendar to mark the days. In a faes world they didn’t need an actual calendar and although I was full fae by now, some habits were hard to break. I liked knowing what day it was. One day that would change for me but right now I needed it to ground me. I was still adjusting.
Johnny yelled as he caught another big fat fish. I got it CT. How many does that make now?
Johnny swiped away the sweat that dripped down his face. Whew! After painting those three rooms and our cottages, I’m getting tired.
He bent down to lay his fish with the rest. We had nine good sized fish. That would have to do. He was going to have to teach some of the others how to fish. The ones who could morph to human size could help him if they all wanted to start eating fish. Johnny kept his six-foot height even after he survived the transformation from human to fae ; and this brought a healthy appetite along with it. He needed more than the customary greens, salads, fruits, and nuts to satisfy his hunger.
He had beautiful dark blue wings that he could retract and extend. It was still an ongoing joke among the fae. They’d never seen a six-foot fairy before.
CT?
Johnny smiled as he rowed us back to shore. Did you ask Fia the question you were so curious about?
Yes, I did,
I responded. I, in all my glory asked Queen Fia why she didn’t just blink and wish the flowering trees into existence and the berry bushes to bear fruit as she could wish for anything she wanted. Why wait for them to grow and bloom?
She simply responded, My dear CT, where would the fun in that be? What would that teach our young? To be lazy? They need something to occupy their minds. It teaches them morals and wisdom. They need to understand how to survive. One may never know when they may need to fend for themselves. Not every fae is blessed with full powers.
Johnny laughed as he got out to drag the boat onto the shore. I love Fia, she’s so funny.
Yes, she is adorable, but something is off Johnny. She seemed distracted when at a time she should be relaxing and fixing up her and Liam’s room on the top floor of the castle. She also mentioned that the sacred ceremony would have to be done sooner than we had planned.
I fidget with my fingers, "Johnny, I don’t want to take her powers. She needs to keep them. Why is she so adamant in giving them to me? I’m just a princess and I am happy enough with that title if it makes her happy. Won’t that make her helpless?
‘Oh, and we have a visitor coming. She is some important reigning Queen of all the Queen Fae’s. Fia rushed me out to join you after teasing me with a tidbit. She didn’t want to talk further about it at that time.
‘Johnny, I think she’s coming for the ceremony. I have a bad feeling about this Johnny, for Fia. After hundreds of years why now give up her powers? Jeepers and I thought being a fae would all be stress free."
Johnny laughed that adorable laugh he had as we spread our wings to fly back to the castle with his fish in hand. It would be a feast tonight. For now, I pushed the foreboding of doom out of my mind. Tomorrow was another day.
Castle in the Sky
High up in a treetop above Nenagh Realm a ripple of movement caught the early morning air. Ciaran was one of Blagden’s right-hand guards from the Unseelie Court. They had not been invited; nor should any dark fae, be here. They were in fact either brave, foolish or both to act so carelessly. Ciaran didn’t care and wasn’t worried. He was sent to check things out and report back. In simple terms he was a spy.
The dark fae were mean, sneaky, ruthless, and extremely dangerous. If they wanted something, they tended to take it and his leader, Blagden, wanted Nenagh Realm for himself. Ciaran nodded as he flew off to sneak back through the portal. The patrol guard would find it shortly and would know it had been penetrated easily, however he had no concern whatsoever, since he would be long gone before then.
Blagden would be pleased to hear what all they had done to Nenagh Realm. He’d also be interested at how beautiful the red-haired princess was. What did they call her? CT? He vanished as swiftly as he had arrived.
I shuddered in my seat suddenly as a chill crept up my spine. I turned around expecting someone to be there, but I was alone. I stepped over to the window and stared out. My eyesight was as keen as a bird in flight, yet I saw nothing out of the ordinary. The morning sky was just lighting up and most of my fae family were still deep in slumber. That would all change in a short while when all the young fae started stirring. No one slept once they all got wound up.
Why did I feel as if something was off? My instincts were usually spot on. I was deep in thought as I started to turn to sit back down at the table. I wanted to add a few more notes to my red journal and continue marking my calendar before Johnny woke up, but it was too late. A pair of strong arms grabbed me from behind. I merely smiled as I said good morning while Johnny laughed behind me. I could always sense him from miles away. I forgot the strange feeling of being watched as we continued joking around.
Johnny was in a happy mood; in fact, he was always happy.
I should have known. It’s become a challenge, you know, to try to and sneak up on you. It’s a game I think I will always lose. Your ears are finely tuned to the sounds around you it seems. Ah, I see that you are in your book realm again. What’s got you so interested in March?
I looked up in surprise. Are you kidding me? Do you have to ask? It’s almost one year to the day we arrived here on Nenagh Realm. Oh, and you are correct about my hearing. You promised you’d get up early and finish painting our bedroom. All I’ve heard was you snoring logs in there. Have a seat. I fixed breakfast. I mean I actually cooked it instead of flashing it, aren’t you proud of me?
Johnny smiled that brilliantly beautiful smile of his which always worked on me. He was very handsome and he knew it, although he pretended not to be aware.
It smells good, what is it? Yes, I am impressed since I know you are not keen on cooking. Babe, you can flash me a cheeseburger any time and I would be good. Just don’t forget the French fries.
This was our secret. I could flash anything we needed or desired now; however, we hid some of our treasures such as cheeseburgers and fries from the young fae. Fia and Liam felt they needed to stay true to their path and live as fairies.
I laughed at his sense of humor. He was right though; I wasn’t the best at cooking meals from scratch as Fia and her faes did.
Johnny survived the re-birthing by death ritual, a year ago. He’d gone through so much and risked dying just to stay with me and be able to travel through the secret portal world with all of us. His eyesight and hearing has sharpened as good as mine. He has the flying down. However, he can’t make himself invisible yet nor being able to wish for items at a whim like I can. We hope that will change for him as time goes on.
I, however, have become prolific at wishing and being granted anything we need. This was one thing I was marking on my calendar. I also knew Queen Fia, my Fae Mother, was pushing to have a ceremony and it had to happen on a full moon. We had one coming up in a few days. I had not told Johnny yet of my other surprise. We are about to have a visitor. Angel is coming.
I gave him a big smile. It’s baked wheat bread with honey and butter and cream porridge with fresh blueberries. Would you like a cup of coffee and some milk? Sit down here. I’ll get it.
Wait babe,
Johnny smiled. You’ve done it haven’t you? You have the wishing thing completely conquered.
At my nod of acknowledgment, he wraps his arms around me in a hug. After he lets go, he says, "Yes, I’ll have coffee and milk. Here I can get the porridge myself. This is great babe. You can wish for a distinct color of paint for our bedroom. The shade of pink Fia manifested for us just is a bit much for me. That’s why I can’t bring myself to
