TERRI
"Goodness! Terri muttered as she lay on her bed with her eyes still closed. Terri wanted to stay in bed but knew she needed to be up early because of her plans for the next few months. She groaned as the noise of the alarm filled the room. The alarm innocuously kept beeping until she angrily turned it off. Terri released a sigh of relief when the room was flooded with silence. She closed her eyes for a moment before opening them once more. Terri grabbed her phone from the nightstand beside her bed and tapped the screen. She smiled as notifications popped up. Terri went to her Instagram account and saw the comments on her musical concert, which was scheduled to take place in three weeks. A smile graced her lips as she scrolled through the comments and saw the excitement and anticipation from her fans. Six months ago, Terri agreed to perform her final concert. It was going to mark the end of her performance career. It was the day she would announce to the world that she wouldn’t perform any more concerts; instead, she planned to focus on medical research with her wife, Sonya. A smile graced her lips as she recalled how Sonya kissed her goodbye before she boarded the jet for New York. Terri thought about her three little ones, and her heart filled with joy. She couldn’t wait to return to her family, even though she had just left them yesterday.
Spending so much time away from her family took a toll on Terri. She never really enjoyed the fame, so her ending performing was easy. Of course, she would occasionally help her dad and Kai and never forget about her fans. Terri loved music but only started singing because of her father. She never wanted to be a solo artist. She always wanted to own her own business. She smiled about her partnership with her best friend, Eryn. Together, they built a multi-billion-dollar company, T&E Design, Construction, and Entertainment. Terri smiled because her fame was partially responsible for their success. However, her music wasn't responsible for her initial fame; modeling was. It amused her as she thought about the different things she had done before deciding to retire from performing. She thought of her life as a runway model for New York Fashion Week and how she hadn't wanted fame but the capital to open her bistro. She had delved into music after discovering her biological father was the famous megastar, CJ Glover.
Needing to hide for six months from someone who tried to kill her affected her. While hiding, she had time to reflect on everything, her life, family, and future. She knew leaving her music career was the best thing she could do. She wanted the solitude her music career would never give her. The part of her music career she hated the most was the paparazzi. She wanted something different. She wanted to live her life quietly with Sonya and their children, Aden, Haley, and Zoey. The twins were eighteen months, and baby Zoey was only three months old. The kids were the light of her and Sonya's world.
Terri continued to smile as she thought about them and was still thinking of them when her phone started vibrating in her hand. She glanced down and realized she had a call coming in. The call was from Sonya. Terri answered the phone. Hello.
She smiled while placing the phone against her right ear.
Hello love, how are you doing?
Sonya asked.
Sonya’s voice was enough to light up her day. Good morning, baby. I'm doing well, and you?
I'm fine. I didn't know if you would be awake, but I wanted to hear your voice since I couldn’t do that last night,
Sonya said.
I'm sorry about that. Eryn, Fallon, and I had to sort out some things ahead of the concert,
Terri said.
"You don't have to explain to me. I know preparation for the concert is draining. I wish I
