Everywhere she looked, Crafty Smoke stared out from T-shirts and the posters that covered the walls. But Veronica wasn’t there to see the band, she was only interested in the support act.

A surge of noisy people carried her along, and she wondered what it would be like once the music started.

The last thing she wanted to do was to see Crafty Smoke, but when her son sent the ticket, the maternal pull proved too strong to resist. It would be the first time she’d seen Liam since he moved to London five months ago.

Right now, his band was still a support act, but they had so much talent, she knew fame would soon come calling.

The moment Liam stepped on stage, she felt a surge of love and pride. It was so wonderful to see him again.

‘That’s my son,’ she gasped but nobody took any notice.
