Summary of Undermoney: A Novel by Jay Newman : Discussion Prompts

In this comprehensive look into Undermoney: A Novel by Jay Newman, you'll gain insight with this essential resource as a guide to aid your discussions.

Jay Newman, an author, and a former hedge fund portfolio manager, published his first novel, Undermoney, on January 25, 2022. The novel is a blend of conspiracy, finance, and world affairs, with a tinge of skepticism gleaned from years of scrutiny of political elites and Wall Street bigwigs. For the past four decades, Newman has worked as a trader, investment banker, and investor in international finance. He spent most of that time investing in sovereign debt defaults by countries in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia. He worked for Shearson Lehman/Lehman Brothers, where he built the first-ever trading desk on Wall Street that generated liquidity for developing countries' defaulted debt. He also created leasing enterprises in Central and Eastern Europe as an equity investor, supervising discussions and investing in the debt of dozens of countries. Newman has written and spoken frequently on international finance and sovereign debt topics. He is now focusing on the second out of three books in the Undermoney series.
