    t was meant to bind you. What is your it? Whatever it is, it came with a purpose; it came to render you powerless. It came to keep you from fulfilling your destiny and being the best you that you could be.

    Chapter One

    Your Sins Don’t Just Affect You

    N

    ow, before I get started, I would have you know that this part of my story is not intended to bring dishonor to my parents or to bring up any past hurts or feelings, but it must be told so that you can get the whole picture.

    It was about late November of 1961 when I was conceived. Both of my parents were married at the time, but not to each other. My father had just come home from deployment, and my mother’s husband was still away serving in the army. This affair would soon come to a screeching halt when my mother found out that she was pregnant with me. She called my father to let him know that she was having his child. This obviously was not part of the plan. My father and his wife did not have any children together. My mother, on the other hand, already had two little girls. When my father got word that my mother was pregnant with me, instead of facing his responsibilities, he up and reenlisted in the military. I never got the complete story, but I do know that they sent him to Alaska, where he faced a life-threatening incident. So my mother was left alone to face her husband coming home to find out that she was pregnant with another man’s child.

    I would like to stop here for a moment to remind you that your sins don’t just affect you. They affect everyone around you.
