I entered my favorite pub, and sighed in relief upon seeing Klara and Georgia waving me over. My face ached with the strained smile I had tried to keep in place, but once they stood up and both hugged me, I couldn’t hold on anymore. The tears flowed freely.

Sweetie, It’s all right. Deep breaths, Klara said.

Yeah, Greta, we’re here for you. You don’t need to worry, Georgia chimed in.

I grabbed a tissue from my jacket. They cringed as I loudly blew my nose. What? I sniffed.

Not very ladylike, hon. Klare raised an eyebrow.
