    Characters:

    Narrator

    Monkey

    Lion

    Zebra

    Elephant

    Setting:  A jungle in Africa.

    Narrator:  The story takes place in the jungle.

    Monkey:  Hi!  I’m a monkey with pink feet.

    Zebra:  Hi!  I’m a zebra who likes to run.

    Elephant:  Hi!  I’m an elephant who likes to spray water.

    Monkey:  Hey, not on me!  I do not want to get wet.

    Zebra:  Me, too!

    Elephant:  I like to feel water on my back.  It feels good when it’s hot.

    Monkey:  I stay in the shade to keep cool.

    Zebra:  I run to keep cool.

    Narrator:  A lion sees the other animals.  He decides to join in.

    Lion:  Hi!  I’m a lion who likes to ROAR!  What did you say you like to do zebra?

    Zebra:  RUN!

    Narrator:  Zebra runs away.

    Lion:  Yeah!  I knew zebra would take off.  And what do you like to do monkey?

    Monkey:  Stay up in this tree.

    Lion:  And what about you, elephant?

    Elephant:  I like to squirt lions with my trunk full of water.

    Lion:  NO!

    Elephant:  YES!  Watch out!

    Narrator:  The lion gets wet before running away.
