Dr. William F. Kumuyi (Gbagada, Lagos, Nigeria) was born June 6, 1941 to a faithfully committed Anglican family. In 1964 he devoted his life to Christ. In 1967 he achieved an honors degree in mathematics. In 1973, while a lecturer of mathematics at the University of Lagos, Kumuyi began a Bible study group with fifteen people who had come to him for Bible training. It's been said before, "Despise not the day of small beginnings".This instruction became the groundwork of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry. His ministry, which in 1982 became the Deeper Life Bible Church, was said in 2005 to have had over 800,000 affiliates. At this writing we approach nearly twenty years later and the church has only increased. The vision, mission, and values of this humble, yet profound communicator of the gospel has grown internationally and countless lives have been changed for God's glory.Dr. Kumuyi is quoted as saying:"We would get up in the morning, read the Bible, sing hymns, and go to church regularly. When I was in middle and high school, I lost interest in the church because our principal taught us atheism. But after a while, I thought again and started going to various churches in town. Eventually, in 1963, a group of singers and preachers from a Gospel church got permission to come to the school. I understood the Gospel message and was born again on April 5th, 1964. The church auditorium at the international headquarters could seat up to 30,000 worshippers and was once described by church growth experts as the fourth largest in the world (at the time). The auditorium was dedicated on 24 April 2018; the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, and other dignitaries were present attending the inauguration. Prologue

As the world becomes darker day by day, the hooks of sin sink deeper into the souls of those who are entirely ignorant of what enslaves them. At the time of this writing, crime is on the increase worldwide, social unrest is soaring, substance abuse is at unprecedented highs, and worldwide human rights abuses are being revealed at a staggering rate. The enemy of mankind has made significant advances and appears to be winning the war for the souls of men, but I believe the Lord is raising up a standard against him. We have to work with the Lord, however, in freeing ourselves and others from the clutches of the enemy. In Voyage to Liberation, you will find direction on exactly how to do that.

First, we must understand that it is Christ Who comes to liberate us. He comes to give you eternal life, and He comes to heal and deliver you. All He requires is that you look up to Him in faith as that Great Liberator, and He can then set you free. Praise God, in Jesus’ mighty name today is the day of your liberation.

Next, we begin by establishing how lawlessness leads to failure and devastation in life. This describes our fallen state and our ignorance of how to live in right-standing with God. The Law was present but we paid no heed to it. Next we will see how a person’s desperate longing for forgiveness with sincere lowliness is required to please God and receive liberation, resulting in an ongoing, step-by-step walk toward completeness with God through the power of the cross of Christ. We will then examine the look of faith towards the heavenly Liberator—the Lord has made it so simple to receive His forgiveness and salvation. You don’t have to perform any great feat other than look up by faith to the Savior who died on the cross to set you free.

Then we begin to explore the unlimited power of our Liberator. No matter how great your problem is, Christ has unlimited power to set you free! There is a precondition for liberation but it is so simple—Christ says, Come unto me, and then He promises I will give you rest. When you meet the precondition, He meets you with liberation! The best part is the precondition of our liberation is unchangeable. Once you are liberated and walking in the knowledge of Christ and obedience to Him, your performance will be unfailing!

Next we examine the little transgressor that causes great destruction. Some people believe their small sins are relatively innocent but in this teaching I will show you even the smallest sin from the smallest part of our body can cause utter devastation in your life. I also show you how to tame the members of your body so you can consistently walk liberated. We then look at the Lord’s touch that heals great diseases; blind eyes opened, the lame walking, the deaf and the mute hearing and speaking—every incurable disease the Lord will remove. You only need loyal trust that confirms great deliverance! As you trust in the Lord who saves, heals, delivers, and sets free, the deliverance of the Lord will be confirmed in your life when you apply these principles!

You don’t have to perform any great feat other than look up by faith to the Savior who died on the cross to set you free.

We continue by examining the foundation of the ministry of John the Baptist and how it applies to the foundation of your ministry. We will also look at the failure of some of those who were mentored by John to discover where they went wrong so you don’t have to fail where they did. This leads into the fullness of the miracles of Jesus; the plenitude of the miracles of Jesus of which you will be a partaker.

An exhilarating journey into the supernatural is undertaken as we learn more about the mighty miracle-working power of God as outlined in Acts 2:22. Ye men of Israel hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.

Next, we will reflect on what we were without our great Liberator, which helps us remain sure and steady in humility as we continue our journey of faith. We then will study the man possessed by the devil who lived among the tombs, and see how he received his liberation. If the Great Liberator could set the demoniac free, He can certainly do it for you. Lastly, you will learn to realize who you become in Christ after liberation.

Finally, we will not only study a description of our heavenly home once we are liberated, but also learn how to ensure we continue in the direction towards our heavenly habitation, following our Great Liberator. This begins with the personal decision for happiness here and hereafter, making the decision for Christ which allows Him to remove every stain and every sin of the devil from your life.

Chapter One

The Hard Way

Do you feel held captive by your sin? Do you live in a constant state of defeat? You are not alone. As long as Satan has roamed the Earth, he has been intent on enslaving those who would find freedom in God. He crushes the hopes and desires of people everywhere so he might keep them from the hope found only in Jesus Christ. I have wonderful news for you, however. There is a way out of your despair. You can be free from the chains that wrap around your hands, your feet, and your neck. You can be liberated! A victorious life is not an imaginary tale, and it can be yours. I want to help direct you to the proper path and help you learn how to remain walking there. Today, if you are feeling helpless, powerless, and unable to break out of your despair, take heart . . . in these pages I will show you an ironclad way out of the darkness.

It begins with God’s law. Without God’s law, none of us can know how to live a victorious life. Without an understanding of God’s law it is impossible to obey Him. When we do not understand the laws of God, we break them every day. This results in a life lived in lawlessness. Knowing about God’s Law is not enough, however; we must obey it. His Law is the divine standard by which we all must live. It is to His Law each of us will be held accountable.

The Law provides a map for us to walk on the straight and narrow way. This is not an easy path, but it is the path that is pleasing to God. When we are ignorant of His Law, we have no chance of finding the path. When we know but intentionally disobey His Law, we know where the path is but refuse to follow it. In either scenario, when we walk in ways other than the one He prepares for us we miss out on God’s beauty and perfection. Instead, we find failure, defeat, sickness, and oppression.
