      Grandpa Jessup just got up. It was midday. His grandson Roy was waiting for him patiently. His Grandpa had promised to take him to the zoo today !

      Grandpa Jessup yawned briskly. How his old bones ached this morning. He looked outside the window to his bedroom and saw his grandson waiting for him and then looked at the clock on his night table. Oh no! He was late. His grandson must’ve been waiting an hour. He quickly put on his clothes and stepped outside, sunlight splashing his face.

      Hi Grandpaw, said Roy. Didn’t you hear me knocking ?

      Sorry, son, muttered his grandfather. Grandpa Jessup looked down and said, Guess the alarm clock didn’t go off. Roy looked up brightly. When can we go to the zoo?

      Grandpa Jessup had to think fast--the zoo was at least an hours drive from his house, and no one hated to drive
